I just want to say this is very inspiring. My son is 12, visually impaired, and is teaching himself to skate as well. Knowing how and when to lift the board is based on muscle memory and lots and lots of falls. The trick is to get back up again! He goes to the skate park frequently, and walks all the ramps before skating so he knows where everything is. Thanks Cameron for being an inspiration!!!! Aloha

@juanitofbland cameron memorizes the locations he skates and using textures and sounds he can tell when he is approaching certain points. yes, it is almost unbelievable, but i know cameron very well and have seen it with my own eyes, its incredible. cameron also has a new video, just posted called cameron black blind skateboarder springfield skate project

I really appriciate your suport. I do need to learn more ground tricks, and I am gitting better. That video was made over a year ago, and I have gotten better. But I will never let my blindness get in my way of doing something I want to do. One of my favorite authors once wrote, "Either you get busy living, or you get busy dying."

Thanks bro. It is always nice to meat someone who appriciates my skating, instead of getting doubted just because I do things differently than other skaters. Tell your friend to keep up the good work, it comes in time. This video was shot over a year ago, and I have gotten much better.

I know my way around the park because before I skate a new place, I walk around it and get a mental map of it in my head, I memorize it. I read and answer comments because I have a talking program on my computer, a screen reader that tells me everything on the screen. Thank you for being kind with your questioning. First off, let me personally thank you for not being rude and profane, and just asking a question in a nice fasion. I have a screen reader on my laptop that reads me everything on the screen, and everything I type. I'm 20 years old, and am in college, so I got a laptop for classes and had the talking software installed on it. I've been blind sence birth. Thanks again for being polight about your question.
