  • how much

  • Gimmicky in my opinion. Get a real balisong, and train with it.

  • cool variation of the classic bali song but still not as fast a blade draw as flipping open a typical folder.

  • iwaant one.!..!

  • Very innovative.

  • I think it could use a larger hilt, you could incorporate an asymmetrical hilt, like on the flipper opening folder, i.e. kerhaw skyline or crkt m16. That shouldn't interfere with that knife's mechanism too much. Also, if spyderco proves uncooperative, Cold Steel makes all sorts of innovative tactical stuff, they might be more receptive.

  • for me a knife isnt a good self defense weapon. you moght even get arrested for bringing one and yeahhh hard to explain

  • @zaitovssilencer What is a good self defense weapon for you?

  • @flyleaf2424 I live in Colorado so a gun is the best.

  • @zaitovssilencer yourself..

  • @zaitovssilencer you can conceal it dumbass. you might get arrested for bringing any weapon at least you can hide a knife from sight, try bringing a sword as a self defense weapon. if it's hard to explain why comment...

  • i dont get it its so confusing!?!?!?

  • fuck it i'l just take a gun

  • would these be legal in the uk?

  • @hellboyslittlebro yeah, if they ever get made.

  • i dont really get the point of the piece of metal that is stowed with the blade.

  • what's the fucking point of having two blades?

    I'll just get a tatang.

  • M janich is the TRUTH for to the point all round self defense.

  • but comon, Balisongs are way cooler

  • can you design a tool that could prolonged a life without cutting the other life? I mean to kill is easy, but, to help alleviate ones ailments to live long and normal peaceful and happy, I guess its...

  • @joey349harry thats a ignorant attitude, if a person WANTS to take YOUR life, he's already proven he doenst deserve his own life!!! i don't think you could ever understand this tho.

  • thing is the balisong looks way cooler then the jani song

  • If blawkhawk originally made them they couldn't have been to expensive what do you think they will go for when spyderco makes them?

  • this defeats the purpose of having two handles in a balisong, this knife is retarded. horrible for a stressful situation and it doesn't look very strong

  • Awesome.

  • Carry a danf fixed blade. Throwing a knife around does not have any benefit to self defense

  • can someone tell me where I can get the jani-song?

  • You can't yet only prototypes were made they are $500 or so. Hopefully Spyderco will be making this soon.

  • But hasn't this knife been out around 2007?

  • Yes, he simply had arguments with the manufacturer on this. So he joined Spyderco this year so hopefully it will get made by them.

  • o ok. Well i hope it comes out soon because I'm going to buy it! lol

  • I'm confused. Aside from the fun of the knife, wouldn't a person under stress be less likely to drop or fail to open this type of knife, compared with a more standard tactical folder? ...like the Zero Tolerance 0200 for example.

  • So, Janich started posting on the spyderco forums after he joined their team. I asked him if he was considering getting the Jani-song out in production. He mentioned he's sold the rights to Spyderco already, but that they have other models to get out before the Jani-song.

  • 0:24 Sweet!!!

  • So who has one because I will buy one!!!

  • dude if you send me one ill advertise it for you

  • Not out yet, hopefully Spyderco produces it soon.

  • Can someone put me in touch with someone who has one of the prototypes because I will buy one...

  • They are $600 but sit tightm Michael just joined Spyderco and looks like he is going to produce the knife with them, so keep those fingers crossed and we should see it soon.

  • WOW!!! THANK you asewome.

  • what model balisong does he have there in his belt?

  • RSI: Janich just joined Spyderco. Do you think we'll see the knife hit production?

  • I hope so.

  • Roadsideimports, do you think this knife will ever see the light of production?

  • I'm glad Michael did not let Les De Ahole produce it. That shows you something right there off the bat, that someone like who does deserve respect in the industry has some serious disregard for Les De Ahole.

Then there was supposedly a deal going with Kershaw but that fell though because they also have the reputation of being hard to deal with. Ken Onion hates them, ask him his real feelings about them as well, and you'll see that he just left them and signed with CRKT.

    Company Politics Suck

  • Someone said on the forums that they will not release this

  • It is not that they won't release it, it is that the deal with who was going to manufacture it fell through. So they are finding the right company to produce it.

  • The person said the cause was legal issues as well as importing issues

  • No importing at all. Benchmade was going to make it then they had a deal with Kershaw. Benchmade are fags so thank God they didn't get it, they tried to screw over the deal as normal and take to much for the project. Don't know what happened with the Kershaw deal.

  • this is pretty cool

  • Roadside you guys are the best ! I have ordered a few knives from you.

  • Cool thanks for the support.

  • were can i get one of those Jani-Song

  • Only the Prototypes are available and they are $500 or so, the manufacturer of this fell through and there is now no ETA on them.

  • so from what i understand, the production model was supposed to be out on the market by april 2007, but the manufacturer bailed on them, and they haven't even found another one to start production as of yet??

  • That is completely true. Only the prototype models were released.

  • have you heard anything lately on the production model? the other questions like this were a month old, so I thought that maybe something new has happened

  • Yes, they have prototypes out but they are $500 to $600 from most guys who have them. The production model was delayed because the manufacturer backed out of the deal so these won't be around for some time other than the prototype models that are out there.

  • The 2 knives that i've been waiting for for a while would be a dalton DA OTF and the jani-song...production being delayed has really screwed things up

  • Interesting knife, great desingn and engineering.

    Well done Mike!

    Regards,

    John

  • That's a sweet knife, any idea how much they will go for?

  • Prototypes are $500 now and the mass production model is at around $200 or so.

  • sorry but i don't really see the point in this.. rather stick to my trusty Smith n Wesson extreme ops kerambit.. no new purchases until its something i can draw and cut with faster than the kerambit..

    no ofence though..

  • i want one

  • Whoa! JB, you should sell these!

  • They are not available just yet, about two weeks and they will be ready.

  • They might be like iPhones. They'll be gone fast.

  • Oh yeah, you can buy the prototype model at a few places for about $500 to $600, but the mass production model isn't completed yet, the story is a few more weeks, this was unveiled last year.
