  • You go GIRL ! Love this !!!

  • I had a crush on this lady since the age of twelve, and it hasn't got any better.. so if you by some chance see this, girlfriend.. you could do worse then knowing a man who has such hold on what he belives to be taste.

  • Not bad at all. But Aretha's cover is absolutely definitive.

  • I like Renee geyers version of this better. What with the lulu dance lol lol lol

  • The voice of a generation - gutsy powerful and raw, loving this!

  • I'm not positive about this, but I believe Lulu recorded this fabulous song at the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama USA. (The original studio located on Jackson Highway in Sheffield, Alabama is now listed on the Register of Historic Places.) Elton John and Bernie Taupin (along with many other artists) also recorded hits at MSSS. I live about 70 miles from the studio.

I like this recording. I used to play it on the air when I was a disc jockey back in the 1970's.

  • Love it...wheres the petition?

  • Gosh...I love her gravelly voice! Very unique and beautiful. I remember this song when it came out...and I still love it!

  • one of her forgotten hits (#22 Feb 1970)

  • LOvely song by Lulu. She is one of the greatest singers to walk the planet.

  • Her singing, talent and sex appeal in this video are unbelieveable ! What a doll and she still looks GREAT !!

  • Watch Patti LaBelle singing in this 1991. She tore this song a new asshole.

  • love this fucking song soo much

  • this song or to sir with love? tough choice, but sir is deeper!

  • Mum used to play Lulu at home when we were kids, Love her voice!

  • 4 personas no tienen oído musical.

  • What voice. My god. I want to cry. This is MUSIC

  • she´s so pretty

  • Thank you for posting this video. Everyone thinks of Lulu and it's "To Sir with love " or "Shout". She is so much better than that.

  • @coaltit1 i do agree. I adore her!

  • I haven't heard this song since I was about ten years old...in 1970. I have always loved it. Thank you Youtube. Now people like Lulu don't exist much anymore. She sings with a great voice without showing her breasts, dressing up in goofy dresses and yelling into an autotune. To find good girl singers these days you have to look far away from mainstream music. I wish there were more like Lulu. Now I want to find the chords and lyrics to this so I can learn to play it.

  • #46 best songs of the 60s Lulu - Oh Me Oh My

  • 4 jagoffs did not like this

  • LuLu looks younger now then she did in this video I guess is in the 70's

  • Watching this video and listening to this song makes me feel so good. She really OWNS this song. You can really see how much she loves this song. This is the best version of it.

  • Lulu: Delicious. They don't make 'em like her and the late, great Dusty Springfield anymore.

  • Impressionante, será que o pessoal que acredita fazer boa m´sica hoje, não sente vergonha ao ouvir a Lulu cantando? Crazy, Crazy, Crazy. Não dá pra comentar mais nada. Crazy, Crazy, Crazy. Obrigado por postar este vídeo.

  • Crazy Crazy Crazy, ão dá pra falar mais nada. Just Crazy!

  • The definitive version in my opinion. This rendition can still bring me to tears and I have to force myself to switch off to bring me to my senses. But what goes on behind closed doors...

Thank you to everyone involved in the making of this recording song but Lulu....you nailed this one to perfection.

  • i love Lulu!!!!

  • AWESOME SONG,listen to B J THOMAS he does almost as good as lulu

  • such dynamism; powerful voice and song; haven't heard this one in light years, but always one of my faves..

  • Karl Koch, Tron, Martina Pflock, Heiner Gehring, Kirsten Heisig, Bernd Seiffert Fritz Bauer (prosecutor of the Frankfurt Auschwitz processes), Jürgen Möllemann, Uwe Barschel and my brother Markus Bott.

These authors, human rights and internet activists have been murdered by the German BND, the renamed GESTAPO. If my homepage disappears, the BND will have assassinated me too.

BND snitchers are thumbing me down. Thumbs up if you want the German BND to stop systematic torture and assassination.

  • @wwwtotalitaerde what does any of that have to do with Lulu? Is the gestapo after her too?

  • @lasktguy The GESTAPO today is renamed BND.And yes, I guess they are collecting information about every important person abroad, about artists, politicians and important people in the economy and administration of every country. This is done since at least ww1 and was described in Sabotage! The secret war against America.See my videos:

    Germany organizing psychological sabotage abroad

Germany manipulating other countries: The America First Committee

Examples of German Psychological Sabotage Abroad

  • @wwwtotalitaerde thanks but no thanks. I really can't bring myself to watch your videos. Conspiracy theories just aren't my thing. So you go on believing what you want. I'll get in touch with Lulu and let her know she's being watched by the big bad BND.

  • She is the BEST......This is one of the best ballads sung by one of the BEST singers ever........Lulu no one does it BETTER!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! I love it...

  • HELP! I used to perform this song w/guitar and have forgotten the chords. I found the chords on the web, but they do not sound right to me. C'mon you musicians. Help a girl out!

  • Great song!! She dies it

  • Lulu still my favourite

  • As much as I liked To Sir with Love, this one knocks the socks off my feet. What passion in this song and she is really cute to boot. Reminds me of a girl I went to school with who was just as perky as Lulu. Thanks for the posting uklulu!

  • Beautiful !!

  • Awesome!

  • The song was written by Glasgow's Jimmy Doris. He played lead guitar in the Stoics, with Frankie Miller as lead singer. My pals and I used to go and see Jimmy play his Les Paul Junior in Alloa's YMCA in 1969 - he was a great rock guitarist. I say he was great, as Jimmy was tragically killed in a road traffic accident in London many years ago.

  • Me and my mom loved this song..

I miss my mother so much..

nostalgic memories of being a kid..

i still hum this wonderful song to date..

  • Wow,does this ever bring back memories?!!!

  • Fantástica a voz dessa mulher, quantas saudades de tudo que ela fazia e cantava...To Sir With Love foi inesquecível e parece que está sempre em minha mente, valeu Lulu por tantas emoções e doces lembranças. Beijos sempre.

  • one of the best singers ever. sultry, smoldering, steamy voice. beautiful

  • my hero!

  • <3 i lovee herr xx

  • Foxy little minx !!! She looked stunning !!!!

What year was this performance ??

  • My God, she is so beautiful.

  • My God, she is so beautiful.

  • Great job Lulu, the best cover of this song by far and a world classic to boot.

Very impressive - I just love it ---- Hats of to the song writer also. AAAAA

  • @westjt This isn't a cover. Lulu was the first to record this song.

  • I Love this girl!!!!

  • Beautiful song and a beautiful performer. I love the swinging 60's!

  • this is one of her best

  • This is my favorite Lulu song. What a tight, intense vibrato she has!

  • Love this song!

  • Crayons and Perfume has a copy of this exact cut of this song!

  • Are you sure? With this ending, instead of a fade-out? Can you upload it to YT, please?

  • not sure where you can get this.......but this is the song I remember coming out new in the late 1960s on WNEW.

It is a much better version. Keep the hits coming.

  • This is NOT the version that was released!!! Whee can i FIND THIS VERSION!!! Was it ever released? It's so much better. All the versions I have don't have the ending! This one has a different mix, too!

  • I'd love it if this version was released but I'm guessing the master was lost. Lulu's Atlantic/Atco recordings were recently released on CD an this wasn't on it.

  • Are you sure this version never was released? Maybe it was released on a vinyl 45? This vesionis a completely different vocal, there's alot more adlibs... and obviously Lu knew this alternate version well enough to mime to it. It's got to be somewhere.

  • I don't know that it wasn't released but the recent Atco CD was a 2 CD set. If this was in the archive, I imagine it would've been included on the CD.

There's another video from around this time where Lulu performs Laura Nyro's Eli's Coming on a casino set. It wasn't a live performance, it was a filmed video where she mimed to her own vocals. I'd love to see that recording released as well.

  • I didn't realize that "Eli's Coming" was unreleased as well!! These things need to be released! I have the video for that as well. I looked closer at the ATCO session CD, and it doesn't say the COMPLETE recordings. The absence of that operative word may be telling us what we need to know, here.

  • Can you post the video for Eli's Coming? Did you get it from the old Lulu "Independence" site?

  • I'm afraid I don't know how to upload and such stuff... but I bought the DVD with BOTH this and "Eli's coming" on it. It's called "Sensational Sounds Of The 70's", Vol. 1 & 2. I got it at Amazon UK... it's cheap as dirt. It also has a video on it of Lu doing "Ressurection Shuffle".

  • @yandrsupreme Thanks for the info. Were the videos made for a specific TV show?

  • You get the two DVD set... it's a little over 11 pounds, about 15$ US for the two disc set. It's PAL DVD, but it's also region 0, so as long your player is PAL capable it doens't have to be region free.

  • haha...i bought the 45 as a 10 year old kid...i loved this song to no end,..never saw the video,....thanks for posting this!

  • lulu still rocks in 2010 Melbourne Guy

  • Flipside is Hum a Song (from your heart)

  • "although I've got no tune, my show won't flop. I'llf find the music in your eyes." Would someone show me any cooler verse in any lovesong.

  • Lulu you are wonderful

  • Boy does this bring back memories. Anyone remember what was on the flip-side of this single? Wish I still had it...

  • Thank you! The title's familiar but I have no memory of the song.

  • such a beautiful song such a beautiful voice

  • Amazing Lulu!!!

  • i love this song ! Lisa Hartman black did a cover of this song,,,, back in the knots landing days ... sounds a lot alike... love it !!!

  • simplemente maravilloso, alguien puede decirme de que año es este video???

    simply wonderful!!!

somebody said me what year is this video??

  • Este video de Lulu debuto en 1969.

  • --David, the song first came out in 1969. This could be the first "music video"???

  • bob do you have the good version of this song. i cant find it on utube.

  • pete ... this IS the good version. There is none better.

  • bob go to yahoo music, its there free, it let me play it 3 times today.

  • I've heard people call videos like this "boring" because there's not much action, but I've never bought that. Great setting, she really knows how to sing to a camera and, of course, it's the best imaginable version of this song. But it's probably nowhere near the first "video" , using the term loosely enough to include film. There were Scopitones in the '60s, "Soundies" in the '40s and similar attempts even before that. All were intended for rear-projection jukebox-like machines.

  • I find today's videos too boring because of too much focus on the visuals of it rather than the music itself. Too much half naked girls and pouncing around

  • LINDO... MARAVILHOSO.

  • She's still drop dead GORGEOUS after all these years!

  • absolutely FANTASTIC-thanks so much for posting!!!

  • This video was shot along Victoria Embankment - southside at 2:00, you see the Battersea Power Station. Amazing

    Thanks for Posting

  • Thanks for posting this! I've been looking for this.

  • She is still awesome!!!

  • Happy 6th anniversary Pie! This is my song to you!

  • Love this song and this version. Lulu is and will always be one of my favourites. I love her gritty performances.

  • A giant talent-then and now!

  • Very Impressive.. Thanks Dear.

  • That looks so much like the Cambridge River near MIT in Cambridge, MA (USA!)

  • Great song, awesome performer, thanks much for posting!

  • I agree. I like this song better than To Sir With Love!!

  • this is live ths performance

  • Just fantastic! Too bad Lulu didn't have a bigger career here in the USA. Buster Poindexter (David Johanson) does a great version too. I wish someone would post his video.

  • Not many singers you these days are as polished in their performances as the ones I have enjoyed rediscovering on this magnificent site. How many people will remember anything that is on the radio now ...in 30 years time? Not a lot. Anddddd she can still go out on stage and carry a tune, not like half of them these days way to go Lu

  • *Here Here* cuddleegeezer! "Oh me Oh my" I am STILL a fool for Lulu. .... And proud to say it all these years later!!!

  • This is like..the very best of her.

  • Go Lulu. An absolute lady. Love this song.

  • I would sure like to know the history of the video. This was about 1969? Long before MTV was dreamed of. Perhaps something shown in movie theatres as a feature before a film? If anyone knows please share! Lulu is still awesome as a woman and singer today. I'm STILL "crazy, crazy" for her all these years after developing a crush on her when I was a student at Hollywood High back in 1967. Thank you uklulu for making this old Yank very happy and bringing back great memories of this wonderful lady.

  • I'm almost certain this was made for American television. The production values and the use of colour at this time weren't really to be found on UK TV... There's also a video out there somewhere of Lulu doing "Eli's Coming" from this time on a casino set - anyone out there have it??

  • This was a UK production... these were shot in 1971.

  • I remember Lulu on the film "To Sir with Love" and she was a babe. Her songs were the best and never get tired of listening to them.

  • I got the better version of this, and when I came back onto you tube.. it seems its gone... but the ending is better than this one...

Either way... its a magnificient song,

    Well done Lulu

Keep this here... some songs history cant repeat!

  • First time I saw Lulu version of this. Great performance and I like that is really an early video and she looks great. Even the outfit could be worn today. Made me smile thanks for posting.

  • this looks like chelsea embankment

  • I guess your right. Good catch!

  • Have you seen...here on YouTube, Lulu & Maurice Gibb - First of May..?

It wil bring tears to your eyes, so emotional, best be prepared, tissues at the ready...

  • Wow, I've never, ever seen this clip! Have always loved the song...thank you, thank you!!

  • I love lulu, and this is one of my all time favorite songs.

  • i dont think of lulu that way

  • Awesome.

The album version has the edge, and it's a shame her Memphis album hasn't seen a CD release (at least that I'm aware of).

    Great idea about the petition.

  • I prefer this version - the vocal wipes the floor with the original version and it has a great, proper ending instead of a fadeout.

All Lulu's Atlantic recordings can be found on The Atco Sessions CD

  • Jemb2000 -- you are absolutely corrrect about this having the PROPER ending and orchestration.

  • If only this version had been included as a bonus tracks on Lulu's Atco Sessions CD - It'd be fantastic to have it in high quality audio.

  • Can you hear Cornell Duprees inimitable guitar rifts on here also Duane Allman.

  • aw this song is one of the best things ever xx

  • This song is CLASSIC. Lulu said it's her favorite that she did. This is a totally different version than the one on record.

  • a very sexy woman johnny suede

  • yea cool

  • Thanks for the great tunes! I love this 1...

  • I love Lulu and that's a great song. However, I don't like her clothing in that video. I think that "Oh Me, Oh My" is from 1969, but she looks very 70's there. The 70's was not necessarily a good time for styles. That video must have been shot some time after the song was released, sometime in the 70's.

  • She even looks great through that awkward shot during the chorus. Her stride is choreographed a little, but it isn't obvious, and she looks as natural as ever. I didn't know she was this beautiful

  • I like Tina Arenas version but nothing could beat the original version by Lulu..she gave it a personal raw intensity that still sends shivers down my spine when she shifts to the quieter lyrics ..eg I will play the fool for you. Got to play it again. bye

  • where is she singing?

  • Looks like chelsea embankment london ,i think ,long time since ive been there !!

  • great soulful vocal delivery. what a performance! great video, too. thanks for posting. john

  • See and listen the brazilian man Ruy santos. beautiful voice. Access; Ruy santos Oh me Oh my.

  • why have i never heard that before just now? what an amazing version of a great song.

  • My mum is South African (Cape Town) and always loved Lulu.

  • What a wonderous voice! Lulu's music certainly define a generation...those of us who grew up in the late 1960s/early 1970s. It's always a pleasure to hear her sing!

  • it is not just the Brits who love Lulu, she has a devoted following here in the States, too and we all think she deserves the recognition for being the voice of a generation.

  • She was also very popular in México; I used to live there in the '60s & '70s & we uses to listen to this song and others Lulu partook; wasn't she in The Beatles' version of "Twist and shout"? She also sang The Isley Brothers' "Shout." I love her unique raspy vestiges she applies on certain words when she sings.

  • "used" sorry.

  • Classy!

  • i love lulu i think she's an amazing singer and an incredible performer which puts one word together she's PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!! i just adore this song and her version is like the best version ever xx

  • I was in love like that once, only once. Could it ever happen again?

  • i love her voice very charm! and sweet!

  • I remember this coming over the radio way back when I was a teen in Boise, Idaho. The DJ said "Turn the lights down, sit back and listen to the hottest thing Lulu's ever done." I agreed and never heard it again till now. I remember the "We'll blow a genie from a cigarette..." line. I have tears in my eyes listening to it now as I did then.

  • What a performance! Perfect voice, perfect song, perfect moves. It dosn't get any better. Lulu really is in a class by herself. Thank you Lulu!

  • Marie, this is the first time I've heard your recording of this song and must say once again,,great work.

It's so great to have YouTube and be able to see so many vids we never saw here in the U.S.

Thanks for sharing your talented voice with us.

    Southen boy

    Larry

  • proves she had a lot more going on than she got credit for - Arif Mardin put her in the sainted trio with Aretha & Dusty having produced all 3.

  • i love this verson saying that i love lulu more than any singer ever. i think she is gorgeous,an incredible singer,an amazing performer and a down to earth person too love you lots lulu xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • It is amazing is that much better wife of 20 years.

  • One of my favorite songs of all time! Lulu was fab then, is fab now.

  • Great. Thanks for posting.

  • Oh me, Oh my, Lulu sung this wonderfully.

  • Unbelievable. Super well done. That tune is totally mesmerizing.

  • LULU... you are the best...I love you.
