  • I loooooooooooooooooooooove Inger and the Nymphs!

  • Love this song!(and her Big Bird outfit at the beginning, lol!) I miss 90s. I found more and more underrated great bands of 90s, yet less and less meaningful music of nowadays. When will "the retro 90s" come around?

  • Used to see them at White Trash a GO go all the time. Or was that English Acid? Loved her!

  • good stuff

  • i've always considered myself an ambassador for this band.....so anyone who wants MPEG-4 (iTunes) versions of this album go to Carella Ross on Facebook & send me your email i'll be more than happy to send them along (they're already saved in my email & forwarding them would be easy)

  • drums ...dead

  • This band broke up because David Cohen stopped managing them. Where are you Dave? Renee.

  • This band broke up because David Cohen stopped managing them. Where are you Dave? Renee.

  • Tom Z is an ass - This band broke up because David Cohen stopped managing them. Where are you Dave? - Renee.

  • I sure love his work with Iggy, what a drag! RIP

  • Forgot about these guys. Thanks. Rocks hard...

  • Just hearing now, R.I.P. Alex. A very good man.

  • this video was directed by an englishman by the named of tim pope. he did all the cool cure videos of the mid to late 80s

  • rip alex

  • So sad to hear about Alex. Rest In Peace, brother. x

  • rip alex

  • Inger,god i always loved that woman..

  • I haven't listened to them for years but they still one of my fave groups from the early 90's.Used to fancy Ingor like fuck.Hail to The Nymphs

  • This song definately should be seen. Check out my Nymphs video for Alright. Classic times.

  • this song reminds me very much of alice in chains but with a female singer, the nymphs were awesome, and sadly, nobody knows who they are, i mean even this great song doesnt even have 20,000 views

  • Thanks again. I'm looking into that after college. I really love her voice. And just feel so sad I missed out on her music. Things were a little far behind here in North East Texas back then. I did know Jeff Buckley though. And as I recall they were friends. Blessings, Kimberly

  • Thank you Joesph for the comment. I am looking it up. I love her voice that sux!

  • @Niamhdm7871, I found some interesting pages about her when I was searching for images (on Bing and Altavista as well as Google).

There's a fascinating (if structurally flawed) interview that she did with Victor Mejia. There's a really good article on Nymphs that's featured on the Sleaze Grinder site.

The artist who designed the front cover of their debut album was Craig Clark. If you search for him, you'll find some interesting anecdotes. I remember he posted something on a Facebook group.

  • cool album.....love her slutty voice...

  • they were one of the house bands for the club Scream at the Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles circa sometime many years ago. Jane's Addiction was also a big part of the scene. Great times, dim memories. Thanks for knocking shit loose!

  • Indeed, Scream at the Park Plaza Hotel in '88. They were the best band in LA at the time along with Janes. Should have been huge, classic times.

  • I swear that chic looks like Courtney Love in the video. I mean I know it's not. But, I think Inger must have had some beef with her lol. Anyone know?

  • @Niamhdm7871, there was a lot of tension. If you type in their names in the Google search bar, you'll find some very interesting anecdotes.

  • good band forgotten

  • Saw them at the Marquee way back when - happy days.

  • Hope Inger reads this and plays NY again soon!! We miss her!

  • Cool album. Still listening to it for almost 20 years.

  • Inger didn't give a shit what people thought of her, she expressed herself through her music, and apperance (which is obviously not the norm). Love this band, great song...

  • Poor Inger... she really was damned, still is.

  • @Brendowski, it's a shame. Are Nymphs making a new album?

Anyway, this video was directed by the same guy who works with The Cure.

He also worked with Iggy Pop, Queen, Julian Lennon, Ministry, Neil Young, The Darkness, Rush, David Bowie, KT Tunstall, Pretenders, Bronski Beat, Psychedelic Furs, Hall & Oates, Cars, Wham, Beautiful South, Kaiser Chiefs, Bonnie Tyler, Tygers of Pan Tang, Marc Almond, Fatboy Slim, Bangles as well as Siouxsie & the Banshees.

He also directed the first Crow sequel.

  • Never saw this vid first time around when I had the album - thanks heaps!

  • I bought this album when it came out in high school!

    love the Nymphs! And Inger!

  • That shot @2:44 is just SO perfect... diggity dawg, I could rant about this all day!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this!!!!

  • wow.... i luv this song...

it was really hard for me to get this album... years ago.

nice nice nice very nice yummmy :3

  • surprised their not from seattle

  • The Nymphs were Hollywood's response to SubPop in the late '80s. While the major labels were focussed on the Sunset Strip glam bands, Inger combined the L.A. look of the time w/ that heavy seattle sound. Unfortunately Zutaut didn't realize what he had on his hands til' '91 when Nirvana broke big. For what it's worth Mark Arm hated the Nymphs because he thought they were ripping off the grunge thing.

  • @Brendowski Then by that logic, Iggy Pop must hate Mark Arm for building his entire career on imitating the Stooges so blatantly in Mudhoney. (FWIW, Iggy sings backup on the Nymphs' song "Supersonic.") Nymphs were slower & bluesier than any "grunge" band that was ever on Sub Pop, so I don't see how you can draw that simplistic connection. Nymphs formed in New Jersey in the mid-'80s, so they were not "Hollywood's response" to grunge, which didn't even exist as a bankable trend yet then.

  • I bought this album when I was in the military. I loved it- this song actually got some play on the radio up in Seattle and Tacoma.

  • of course they did hahahaha

  • I saw this video once when I was a teen, and spent more than a decade with the memory and nothing else. The name of the band and the song never abandoned me, but somehow I never managed to find a record, an EP, nothing to buy or download!

And then came Youtube. God bless!

  • I don't know if you ever got their album, but you can find it easily on eBay. It's really good and I suggest you get it before it gets even more rare.

  • Thanks mate, I don't have their album, gonna look for it! :)

  • I found a Nymphs cd at Zia records

  • Great album this was. Bought on a fluke and I'm still listening to it 20 years later. Inger Lorre rules.

  • this album came out in 1991 actually. awesome album tho. wish they would've went somewhere

  • @1gregmichael I know,this and Princess Pang

    Those 2 girls can rock.

  • You know its a shame that Kurt and Inger Lorre never got together. Inger is sexier than Courtney and more talented. They might have made a good couple.

  • @LordRockfish, I was thinking the same thing when I heard her voice for the same time. She sounds like a female Kurt and she seems a lot nicer than Courtney.

  • You can tell when bands are real. This band was as real as it gets. Inger Lorre is one of the best female rock singers I have ever seen. She has a style that is all her own though Courtney Love tried to steal it for her own (Courtney Love is one of a very few artists who I can say I really dislike as a person AND musician). For Hole to be glorified and Nymphs to be forgotten is one of the great tragedies in modern rock music. There are many great girl pop/rock singers but few hard rock as good.

  • I can't begin to comment on CL, but I have heard a lot of people I trust who worked in the biz etc saying bad stuff, though that said Celeb Skin IS a good track... but Inger, she's just great, in a class of her own!

  • @anbanana, what did they say about CL?

  • @LordRockfish, one of these days I hope Courtney's career tanks and Inger gets a major comeback.

I read a negative review of Courtney's latest album and the interview extract associated with it. In the extract, Courtney conveys her hatred for Dave Grohl by saying says Hole is better than Them Crooked Cultures.

  • I just got done listening to their album...What an amazing band. Too bad Inger decided to leave the music industry.

  • can anybody give a link to download their album and EP

    pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeas

  • You can get the CDs online, and no it doesn't favour the artist any more than if you downloaded it, but you can. I did!

  • Inger Lorre :)

  • Inger was like 19 years ahead of our time

  • love the maggots

  • Inger is awesome. I love the story about her pissing all over the A&R guys(or whoever) desk.

  • Yeah i remember that story, thats all i think about whenever her name is mentioned. The debut was awesome and i don't think they get the credibility they deserved! Why don't they come back, they only gave us 1 album,am i right?

  • @totalstranga, the unfortunate schmuck was Tom Zutaut. Inger was hoping to work with Mike Clink since her boyfriend had worked with him but Axl was so desperate to want to recapture the magic of Appetite for Destruction.

  • thanx!!!!

  • Can you still get their records anywhere?

  • Apparenlty there's going to be a new one and the old one is going to be reissued... so maybe later this year or 2009? But eBay works too

  • Thanks, Robbie Robinson! I mean... Johnny Johnson... I mean... Danny Danielson... I mean...

  • Kick ass. Thanks for posting this up, I love these guys and really wished they could have been around longer. I still have this song and a few others in heavy rotation on my iPod.

  • Love this tune. Found it in 91. Cardboard CD, er, thingie. Pretty cool.

  • Thanks !!

  • Thank you!!! There is a history that when asked about the "worms in the mouth" scene, Inger Lorre answered that she alread put worse things in her mouth!

  • One of the best that just didn't fly...

  • ive listened to that one album they cam out with since i was like 10...

    nymphs rock
