Today i went to Nintendo world in the Manhattan area and i got to download the demos for resident evil , snake eater, and Mario and sonic at the Olympic games in London.

Or simply make a wireless connection at home with an SSID of attwifi

And leave it with NO PASSWORD

I wish they made Nintendo Zones in Great Britain, I mean all you need to do is create a Wireless Network with the SSID attwifi and make it unprotected, and you will be able to make a Nintendo Zone, I did the oposite, and was able to connect to a Nintendo Zone in the US with my European console

Nintendo still doesn't really get the Internet do they? They need to get rid of Street Pass and this crap and just let us use the unrestricted Internet to trade puzzle pieces, coins, etc...

Also it's stupid enough that we are still using "Friend Codes" in 2012, but to make it so both friends have to enter each others Friend Code before either will show up as a human is ridiculous!

Get rid of the silly stuff and give us a messenger with animation and color. Swapnote doesn't count!

Friend codes exist for a reason, they allow anyone to have any name.

And Swapnote isn't really meant for Im and such like aim. or messaging on 360 and PS3, it's just for fun quick comments, or notes that you want to send to all your friends

@Kolma Not necessarily. They could easily put a restriction on it that is comparable to what they expected with Street Pass. It was developed primarily for a Japanese population where everybody (and their dogs) roam the streets with a 3DS on their person.

I live in NY and walk quite a bit and have NEVER walked past another 3DS owner. I'm also older so I don't fit into the demographic of someone who would go to 3DS gathers or whatnot. I'd still like to experience all the 3DS extras though

@videogameobsession I think they don't want to admit that Street Pass isn't working here (in the USA at least) as it does in Japan.

Or at the very least they should let you buy new puzzles with coins. I have n way of getting those and I think they are kind of cool for long time Nintendo fans.

I think most everyone agrees Friend codes need to go away!

Swapnote is cool, but it needs a lot of upgrades (which hopefully "Nikki" will provide"

@videogameobsession Nintendo has made it pretty clear in the past (particularly with games like pokemon) that they want to emphasize the mobility of handheld systems. Rather than allowing you to sit at home all day, they wish for you to get some exercise by going out into the sunshine (even if its only temporary) so you don't grow to become part of your desk chair.

It is by no means a rule, there are exceptions. Otherwise there would be no online functionality in any games.

@XioXaio12 It's FREE WiFi which is meant for Nintendo-only products, but you can access subscribtion-free internet anywhere without limits and get demos on a Nintendo 3DS and with a simple exploit, ON ABSOLOUETELY any device
