Unfortunately, Ace had a problem with alcohol abuse back in those days. This is a no-no when you are in a busieness as big as KISS. I was crushed when Ace left. The band just wasn't the same. But, it got to the point where he was hurting himself, & Gene + Paul felt like they were enabling Ace in his own self-destruction. He might have died, had they not parted ways...although I also read that Ace knew he was hanging on by a thread. Even his guitar playing was suffering, & had to be overdubbed

As far as financial records I obviously wouldn't have access to those. It's my understanding that both Ace and Peter never got equal amounts of the revenue, but I could be wrong who knows.

I do know as far as interviews that Gene decided to smear and trash Ace's reputation far before Ace ever did that to Gene(and at that point it's more of a rebuttal from Ace). There are video's on here that have Ace explaining it, or you can research the chronology. I'll always side with Ace sorry :)

i always liked ace most too, but what happened to peter and ace were there faults. i think they wouldve been better in a less driven band. gene and paul were constantly touring, and writing, and putting out albums, and doing merch, and it was just business from day 1. i dont think ace and peter were ready for it. they wanted the easy rockstar lifesrtyle, and thats not what kiss gave them.
