    Sprout x

  • This is great....Big grin on my face and foot tappin all the way through !!!

  • That's good to hear.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Might be quicker if you just told us the bands you haven't played in dave!

    Bet this one was fun!

  • Cheers Mark.

It was a fun band. We used to do a floor show where we had a BBQ on stage and cooked sausages for the audience.

As for bands I haven't played with...Bucks Fizz is about the only one.

  • Hmmm!!!...The Berry Squad with Burgers...that's an idea...although I'd probably burn down the stage!!!...LOL...

  • Or at the very least, singe your sporran...lol.

  • Really cool song. Fits perfect with the video.

    Frank

  • Thanks very much Frank.

The movie predates the song by 12 years but they do work well together.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Like the video Dave. The music and the film clips fits together well.

  • Thanks Neil.

Getting the music & vid to suit is usually more arse than class on my part. lol

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Top marks my friend, excellent.

  • Thanks Jamie.

Glad you saw this one mate, I know it's your sort of music.

    Cheers, Dave.

    Dave x

  • Yeah, me too.

    Cheers mate.

  • Ha...cool. Five stars~

  • Thanks Roland.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Great song and video editing! ;)

  • Thanks very much Karen.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • That sounds like one of Colin's mixes (heavy kick n snare) and he would have been more likely to have recorded a gig but then I'm thinking Mick Jose was mixing around that time?

Oh its just another Blurry trip down memory lane LoL.

  • Hi Tim. This was one of Mick's. I tweaked it a little in Sound Forge to give it more dynamics.

If I didn't have all these old tapes and photos I wouldn't be able to find memory lane even with a GPS. lol

  • I seem to remember this song being a late number in the "Dinner Set" when the first set had to be toned down a little because some people were still finishing meals.

Cant remember if it was part of the Booze Brothers set as well?

I loved the way Lee really nailed this sort of number regardless of the state he was in - I'll raise a glass in his memory tonight

  • I'm pretty sure this song was separate from the Booze Brothers although it would have suited it.

Leroy was and is a legend indeed. This particular gig was after he'd left the band for 3 months and rejoined for 12 dates up until we both finished. Those final gigs were the best I'd ever heard him play, almost like he had a point to prove.

  • One of my favourite memories of Leroy was the Aussie Barbie set at the end of the Gunbower concert that year. It was after daybreak, he'd enjoyed a beverage or three during the course of the night and absolutely cut loose. Legend!

A check in my archive reminded me that you two did the Great Beer Tour - Oh happy days

  • Ah yes, Gunbower. I remember it well. Gouldy has got a video of that somewhere.

And that epic tour...23rd May to 10th July 1985. Canberra, Sydney, Surfers Paradise, Falls Creek and all points in between. Glad to have survived to tell the tale.

  • The Beer Tour I was thinking of included the Heineken factory, after you finished with Gimix.

But now that you mention the other tour, yeah that was epic, Id been staying at Azzs and drove the girls up for the Sundance gigs at the end.

  • fabulous!

    Thanks for you and Jennie!

    Gibba

  • Thanks for watching Gibba.

    Glad you enjoyed it.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Brilliant vid. What's the movie? It's going to bug me for ages. I always listen to the drums on your vids (cause you are bashing away at them) more than the singer. Rock n' Roll will never die.

  • Hi Andy.

The clip's from "A Day At The Races".

As for my drumming...no point in playing if no one can here you...lol.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Or hear you either for that matter...lol.

  • Cheeky bleeder.... !!

  • LOL!!! I didn't mean hear YOU...I meant hear as opposed to here. Damn typos!!!

  • Amazing song & such a cool video!!! You're so awesome!!! 5***** Thanks Dave for the share! xo

  • That Harpo plays a mean pipe...right up there with Leigh on the Sax!

  • Thanks Ben.

Leigh was one of the best...no longer with us unfortunately. I think he's taken Gabriel's place.

  • Losing Leigh was a sincere loss....I enjoyed listening to this again. Kind of stuff made for smokey bars and even hotter women.

  • Cheers Ben.

  • The vid highlights what a happy piece of music this is! Very enjoyable, Dave!

  • Thanks very much.

    They do compliment each other.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Dave you have been in so many bands! All are so tight too! Well you know what they say! "A band is only as tight as their drummer!!" Nice one dave!

We did a run of gigs at the Village Green in mid '85 on Wednesday nights. Plenty of pub gigs around for bands back then. That was in the days before pokies took over.
