Because Marcus is the son of Alexander, he is able to become a hybrid and when Singe's blood goes on Marcus's corpse, it mixes with his Vampire blood, even though his body was dried out, his body still remained as a Vampire so he became a hybrid from Singe's blood. @MusicLuv80 yes, as you can see from Michael, the third sons descendant he can be bitten by both and become a hybrid of the two, the third son was said to live a normal life i believe and fathered children, that is what Lucien is looking for in the first movie, if Lucien were to drink the blood of a descendant, he two would be able to become a hybrid

@MusicLuv80 It's because the two viruses are incompatible - they destroy each other at the cellular level. Only someone who carries the Corvinus strain can be bitten by both and survive, because it allows for the cells to bond without destroying each other.

Did you even watch Underworld 1? They explained it at the begining of this one too. Kraven was in league with the Lycans to assassinate the elders, and take control of the coven himself. Amelia, and Viktor died, so Markus was all that remained

well they better do a GOOD job at fabricating a whole new cast of characters. Unless they bring lucian back to life. Which is viable. But unless they do, no viktor and no lucian makes a bad followup on Underworld 2. I'd rather see more history. Perhaps the origins or some context of Tanis' banishment.

This clip shows why the 2nd installment wasnt as well received. There was lots of senseless violence, not as much in terms of an engaging plot. The first and the 3rd were better.
Actually I feel the opposite, the second had more in the was of emotion and story. Whereas the first was more like a comic, all about cool camera angles,etc.
But the third was the best, it was a solid story that happened to have monsters.
yeah what i liked about the third one is that is has no hybrid creatures in it....i mean the marcus hybrid and michael hybrid do fit the movie and theyre both kick ass....but the third was just straight out vampires and lycans tearing each other up

Viktor was only powerful because he had a whole army with him that marcus needed. In a single handed fight marcus would have won. Plus why would you be a fan of such a cold hearted prick like Viktor. Did you even watch Underworld 1? They explained it at the begining of this one too. Kraven was in league with the Lycans to assassinate the elders, and take control of the coven himself. Amelia, and Viktor died, so Markus was all that remained

well they better do a GOOD job at fabricating a whole new cast of characters. Unless they bring lucian back to life. Which is viable. But unless they do, no viktor and no lucian makes a bad followup on Underworld 2. I'd rather see more history. Perhaps the origins or some context of Tanis' banishment.

I just watched this trilogy. I think the strongest characters in reverse order are
5. William because he's the most powerful werewolf
4. Michael because he's a hybrid and he was able to kill William
3. Marcus because he's also a hybrid and he almost killed Michael
2. Selene because she drank Alexander's blood and became strong enough to beat Marcus and withstand sunlight
1. Alexander who is the original immortal who Selene says could have stopped Marcus if he really wanted to.

Actually I feel the opposite, the second had more in the was of emotion and story. Whereas the first was more like a comic, all about cool camera angles,etc.
But the third was the best, it was a solid story that happened to have monsters.

but sonja was expecting a child from lucian, that is a true hybrid because it is 50% vampire and 50% lycan. i call it... the LYPRIX. but i assume that if he/she would have been born instead of dying in his mom's womb he/she would be stronger than any other type of hybrid. maybe it could have even been able to eat meat and drink blood at the same time. it didnt necessarily need to have the corvinus strain to achieve this, just a "union of the bloodlines."
that's just my opinion though
