i have everything down for this except the tempo... 190 is crazy! Any suggestions to get this up to tempo? I've been working on it for about 7 weeks at about a steady 172ish tempo and if I go past 176 its to crazy :/ I have an audition in 5 weeks that I'm playing this for but I want it to be this fast! Thanks in advance! :)
I think this is Ryan. the shirt is one give away. The style ,,the walk ,and he even looks a little like Ryan, also Ryan lives in Bangkok,as is stated here.
dont knock on the guy he is a great drummer and it kinda looks like he was leaning over cut the guy some slack his videos are great and helped me out alot.! keep up too good work!
now im no expert or pro but i have been playin for and while and thers no doubt that this dude has chops but i dont think that his right pinky is suppose to be flyin off like that
what type of rudiment is going on at 32 seconds into the video? is there a name for it or just accents on flams and diddles? sounds familiar. its sick can anyone help me out
Its a variation of flam taps where instead of Flam tap flam tap, it goes flam tap tap There are normal flam drags mixed in there too. The sticking is:
Rrr Ll Rr Lll Rr Ll Rr Lll Rr Ll Rrr Ll Rr Ll R, where every uppercase sticking is flammed and accented.
Who cares what it's called. Just learn it. As far as it goes with DCI/WGI drumming, and having down as many rudiments as possible; The more, the merrier!
I disagree with daviethedrummer. While I thought this video is very good, I think this guy is using too much arm, and not enough wrist. It doesn't look like there is a lot of flexibility in his stick heights unless he's raising his arms, until it gets to the roll.
I didn't say his technique was perfect - I said his stick control is amazing. There are many drummers out there who don't have the best or even correct technique but they can still play and never miss a not or make a mistake. :)
idk if its just my crappy monitor but i can only see the outline of you and the sticks. i ts really dark. sounds great though. very impressive stick control.
why are you living in bangkok?

This is really good. I would have prefered to hear it on a nice tight marching snare. But still, worth a listen.

Does that rudiment have a specific name or is it just identified as a series of Flam tap taps and Flam taps.

you are a monster - your stick control is what every drummer should aspire to have. Extremely nicely done.
