I really think, if Tibetan was independent, china should just give them freedom. Does any Chinese like to live in Tibet? I am afraid no. After giving up Tibet, china can put more money on the thing that Chinese really need. Schools for poor, accommodation for poor, all these are more useful to send money to tibetans. Give them free, just like what Chinese do to Mongolia, we will see what happens later. Just stop messing up Manchuria, I do not want to choose between my homeland and my home count

I couldn't give a toss about a man that thinks he is the reincarnation of a god. Tibet itself was a dictatorship under the DL with 95% of the population as slaves before it was Liberated by Mao. Tibet has been part of China for centuries and always will remain that way. Carry on chanting your free tibet slogans in your petty student organisations etc, cause nothing will ever happen :)

Nightwisher, my family was in Tibet in 1949. I assure you, the conditions then were better than the conditions now, for many reasons. Not the least of which is the vast inequality between Chinese migrant workers and indigenous Tibetans now. Your own Party leader blamed the Lhasa riots on the "floating worker" population, and he was partly right.

I also don't give a flying fuck what big ass nations scream "mine mine mine" over Tibet; it's about whether humans are happy there, and free.
