YT is about backgrounds, personal space and enjoying other peoples space customizing your own channel the way you like in your own unique manner. The best way to change yet keep it original is to add more to make your site more fitting to your style. This worlds losing its sense in "Originality". That's why the 90's was to me considered the greatest era of all time in terms of originality of the electronic age.

Perhaps it's because I've been here, daily, for five years, but I prefer the new layout. I'm glad that people I'm subscribed to or that subscribe to me are no longer visible. Also, after they made the "other channels" box widely available, and sub numbers falsely went through the roof, so did the friend requests. At first, the friends thing had meaning... then it got abused and I'm glad it's gone. YouTube should be about videos, people can congregate at FB if they choose.

@bowlingballout I understand what you're saying, but, I don't like the FB at all, and Youtube attempting to emulate this sickens me. We all thought it was hilarious getting 1000's of subs a month, and now we're all paying for it, with inflated numbers and worthless abandoned accounts accross youtube. In a related stoty… There is a little known video sharing website that is gearing up for the onslaught of new users that they KNOW will be heading their way soon. I won't mention the sight's name just yet (others who have mentioned the name get their posts marked as spam). I may touch on it during the filming of my Sunday video.

I'll check the channels and petitions. Besides being forced on us and ugly the new layout is a big step backward safetywise. Youtube is making it even easier for the trolls and predators and haven't addressed issues people have been complaining about for years.
