@Deqa03 Allah looks at ones intentions and in a situation like that, Allah wil not blame us because He knows what is in our hearts and that we have no control over the situation.
good but holy music is found all over the world not just in islam. i do agree however that 'other,' types of music other than holy music are misguiding like you say. in my language there is no word for music just "playing," but for holy music there is some specific words used like, 'sin,' yiin,' .... but yeah the stuff on the radio that is garbage n brainwash your right.
mashallah, please check brother abdulrahman thani his nasheed is called bi qudratillah meaning power of Allah alhamdulillah no music just duff, I am sure you will like it inshallah be sure to comment
I used to listen to latest song and music it would get very old very quick. If you are music lover you cant love quran. Let go of music and you will love listeing to quran. true story. I throw out all my music in qarbage. Alhumdullah now i hear music its makes me angry. do whats best for your soul in this world and hereafter. May Allah swt guide us and always protect us from evil.
well i think that music is both halal and haram, it depends on the meaning. for example occidental music in general could be considered haram because it talks about sex, discos, be drunk etc...but there are also songs that talk about love, brotherhodd etc like we are the world. of course if you want to be a "successful" singer records label make you sing stupid and commercial songs.
Ibn Masoud swore that- the verse meaning that some people buy nonsense & playing talks ( Lahw al hadith) to go away from Allah way without knowledge -aimed at Music & the prophet(pbuh) used to listen to some poetry from his poet (hassan Ibn Thabit) without music & the spread of music is sign of judgment day approach as the Prophet (PUH) predicted that time will come when people will consider as halal : silk , wine & zina & music will be played over their heads.Allah people are Quran People
@786Dawn786 i did but i don`t turn my music up,i still focus on the quran everyday because my mother tells me to daily,i don`t ignore the holy book,i never bought a CD of music in my entire life when i could just listen to it on youtube for free,so as long i keep it a win-win as in listening to music but also following my prayers-can i still listen to appropriate music?
did you that people who listen or are addicted to music cannot concentrate on there prayers
for example like when they say ALLAH HU AKBAR and then when they start reciting surah al FATIHA the surah doesn't come to there mind it's all that the songs lyrics come into there mind
Ah well, he obviously never read a Cole Porter or Jacques Brel lyric or heard a Bach sinfonia or Brian Wilson vocal arrangement. The greatest, most natural form of human expression extinguished by miserable, inhuman indoctrinated facist 'poetry'?
is it not ok to lisen to music in moderation. i mean can i not listen to music some times, as long as i listen to the teachings of the quran more then music.is music a major shirk or minor shirk, thank you.
@jarred800 It is Haram brother i use to love music. When i started to have doubts i use to search in the hope to find something where i would be sure that its not haram because music was allot to me i loved listening to music. But everything i searched it only confirmed more that it is not allowed. 7amdoeliLAh its now 4 years that i don't listen to music anymore. At the end of the Day i had no choice but to submit! May Allah guide us
@jarred800 please listen to this full lecture,THE END OF MUSIC BY KAMAL EL'MEKKI,of which this is an excerp; to see if it answers these important questions. No grey area i think, and there is so much hikmah with that.
That talked helped me a great deal by the will of Allah alhamdulilah, got some major perspective and it makes you admit to the fact that you know deep down that there is no khair in music and that it moves you away from the rememberance of Allah Azawajal.May Allah reward the Brother.
@jarred800 Salaam, you need to know that listening to music, literally wipes the quran from your mind.. so it's like you read the quran (alhamdulillah) and then you listen to music.. THAT'S IT, your quran is fading .
@DijANDQaanita if your a muslim dude...Music without any doubt is a sin.... and the degree of sin is obviously increased if bad things are accompanied by it..for example while listening to the music you watch the music video, immodest women barely covered... the singer swearing and the like..but know all's not lost..while death hasn't reached you, you can still repent to Allah(Exalted be He) who will forgive you if you repent a sincere repentance...music isn't something that condemns you to
@DijANDQaanita Hell forever....i'm not saying persist in your sins because obviously any minor sin that persisted in and taken as a slight matter turns into a major sin....for a relief.. anyone who dies believing in the Oneness of Allah(Exalted be He) and bears witness that there's no god besides Allah and Muhammad(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is His slave and His messenger(the testimony of faith)....even if the persons sins are so great and good deeds are small..he will get his
@DijANDQaanita his punishment,in the Hell-Fire, and then ins sha Allah be admiited to Paradise...another case could be if Allah wills He will punish the person or if He wills He will forgive him...Allah knows best..... but don't take this as an excuse to commit sins and not repent or persist in them..Hell-Fire's no joke...70x hotter than the worldy fire we know of, which we can't even spend 5 seconds in.....let alone spending years in the Hell-Fire.....
@DijANDQaanita I ask Allah(Exalted be He) to guide us(me, you and other muslims) to the Straight Path that will lead us to Jannah and to protect us from the Hell-Fire for He is able to do that. Ameen.
@SIKM4N Not all music is haram mate. If the music expresses love for God, the Prophet and the Imams and brings you closer to Allah, it is far better than prayer. However if it takes your mind off reality and the Creator, it is haram because you forget about God and our bound to sin. That's why they play music and get drunk in clubs.
woow WHAT are you saying man, music far better than prayer ????????????? if its far better than prayer then why the prophets never did it ????? serious dont say stupid things without evidence or knowledge
Watching TV, siting in front of the internet also have a same kind of first impression as music and probably all the bad attributes as said about music here. But when all these are used righteously its as helpful as getting a lot of good information like this and about watching TV channels like PeaceTV. Its just my personal view, may be wrong!...
@mshammas ins sha Allah that's alright because your main intention is to watch the Islamic Show and you might not be able to avoid the music because it quickly comes, no time for mute. So you end up hearing it...well hearing is 1 thing..pretty much something you can't do about for example in malls...listening is another.... listening is where your giving personal attention to it.....
i listen to music. one should have one foot in the dunya and one in the hereafter. u have to find a balance. u can't shut out music completely. u have to find a balance between getting more knowledge of islam and knowing what is going on in this world
What is meant by balance, is yes we live in this dunya so we cant run away from it, but in the same token we do not compromise or deen.
This doesnt mean yes we go start drinking alcohol b/c HEY BALANCE the dunya does it why not us. This is completely wrong. And know one should preach this to their kids or else mark my words you r headed for destruction.
"Islam is the religion of the strangrs, so blessed be the strangrs."
