F U sidney crosby. Ur a classless POS and you showed it in your girly loss to the Wings last night when you crosschecked zetterberg after the game was over just b/c he had 3 points and your jealous you havent won a conn smythe
gotta admit that Howard is a pretty good goalie though, this is his 3rd or 4th 40+ save performance this season... including this game being his 2nd straight 46 save performance and the 51 save performance in LA... though he won both of those games... good game Pens, you guys played better.
Pens had 47 shots and Wings had 24. You guys played a lot better than Detroit, we were lucky to be tied and going to a shootout... i was happy with 1 point after i got over the loss. I wish you guys well. Hopefully once we get Holmstrom, Franzen, and Lilja back we will start winning a bit more and meet you guys back at the finals!
All I'm saying is that Crosby was handed a Stanley Cup last year by Gary Bettman - that won't happen again. That being said, he's not good enough defensively to win consistently in the NHL, therefore.....NO MORE STANLEY CUPS! He's a crybaby and always will be - sorry to burst your bubble and/or help deflate your man crush on a 15 year old Canadian pussy named Sidney
I think this whole Gary Bettman conspiracy theory is growing really old, I think you guys are in serious denial, the only 3 decent core players that you have, 2 of them are over 30 (I think one of them is like 137) and the other will be over 30 later this year. Move over for youth my friend, if healthy, Sid, Geno, Staal and Flower will be playing for, at the very least, 10 more years, while the Wings will be irrelevant in about 3 years from now...
You think Wings fans are in denial because we, for the most part, believe that the Penguins having six skaters on the ice for the better part of a minute in the finals last year wasn't an accident but rather a conspiracy? And please tell me the whole "core player" argument was a joke.....what makes someone a "decent" player and what makes you think that Pittsburgh has more of them than Detroit? Please help me understand 'cause I'm obviously really confused.....haha
Yes, you are in serious denial if you really believe that one too many men call would have changed the outcome of the finals, how many times did Zetteberg cover the puck with his glove in the crease. We can sit here all day and argue calls but that's useless. And yes, you are obviously very confused, the point I was simply trying to make was that the Pens are going to be around for a very long time with this young core of superstars. The youngest superstar the Wings have turns 30 this year......
That's not what you said. You made the comment of the Wings having only, and I quote, "3 decent core players". Since when does decent mean superstar? And for that matter, how is Jordan Staal a superstar? Please.....you're joking right?
And I never once stated that one call would have changed the outcome of the finals nor is that what I believe. But it is hard to believe that in a series so crucial to hockey that two referees and two linesman missed something so obvious.
If you want to get "hung up" on terminology, that's fine, Jordan Staal is not a "superstar", yet, although many people believe that it was his shorty that turned the whole series around, certainly "superstar" behavior in my book. The bottom line is, you're still avoiding the point that in 3-4 years after this core of superstars in Detroit is gone, there are no other star players (that I know of) to take their place, it will be hard to replace then all at once...
I'm not avoiding that idea whatsoever. The only point I'm really trying to make is that the Penguins aren't and never will be like the Red Wings were in the last 20 years with the core group they have put together in recent years. I'm not even saying your point holds no validity, but for you to tell me that I'm in denial for believing there was something dishonest about the finals last year is absurd.
By the way, Pav and Hank will be around much longer than 3-4 years.
Put it to you this way. Nik was 27 and the great Stevie Y was over 30 when they won their first cup. Sid 21, Geno 22 & Staal 20. Get it now? In that sense, they're already better. Officiating gripes are part of the human nature of the game, that's why they play 7 and everyone agrees that in a 7 game series the best team ALWAYS wins. You guys were better in 08, we were better in 09, it's really that simple, don't try to overanalyze it. Also, Hank maybe but Pav will not be a factor in 3-4 years.
Actually no I couldnt possibly understand this asinine drivel. Just because a team wins in the infancy of its core doesnt make said team better than those in previous years. Also, the Wings in the late 90s had a much larger nucleus of players than Pittsburgh does now (Fed, Shanny, Lapointe, Mac, Slava, Nick, Stevie, Ozzie, Igor). You need more than a strong core to win consistently in the NHL and I dont believe Pittsburgh contains anything close. The best team doesnt always win by the way.
We can sit here until 3010 debating this if you're going to tell me that Ozzie is anything more than an average goalie who happened to play on great teams, I think that's being proven the last 2 years. And Lapointe? A dime a dozen. We agree to disagree my friend. Anyway, it's actually been fun chatting with you, take it easy............................................
Ozzie would have won the Conn Smythe last year had the Wings not played so badly in game 7 and actually won that game, but of course that makes him average. And it's not always clear who the better team is during a series or even after it's over. In a 7 game series it's almost impossible since it literally comes down to one game. There have even been series the Wings have won recently in which they weren't the best team (Avs '02, Sharks '07). Sorry to say but it's not that simple.....
Ah, I'm a jealous crybaby because I made a point at the expense of the Penguins and Sidney Crosby...doesn't make much sense to me. But, hey, if you can't help but come to that conclusion 'cause you really have nothing else to say to refute my argument, knock yourself out. I could care less...
@Kebbe666 i remember when the pens played the flyers earlier this year and it went into a shootout. fleury was just poke checking the puck away before the flyer players could even get their shot off. it was like he was playing with kids.
