  • This will perhaps always be my favorite Alex video. It's wonderful. And though I hate choosing favorites... This has to be it.

  • No! You drive on the wrong side of the road! derr! Right is right!!!

  • remember when alex used to dress like this? :')

  • I love how you're so funny, yet so deep. Dude, I LOVE you!! -3

  • I cannot express how happy I am that Alex Day is a fan of The Room...

  • Or maybe the residents of the UK drive on the wrong side of the road... :0

  • I only just got the "The Room" reference when you panned the camera over the bridge.

  • That jacket came in handy in the end, then.

  • Yes, Alex, Americans do drive on the opposite side of the road. Plus in American cars, the drivers seat is on the left, not on the right.

  • The way you were describing loving someone it reminded me of four years ago...

  • Vlogbrothers reference at the beginning :)

  • We drive on the right, so thus we are right

  • Fake tales of San Francisco echo through the room...

  • 1:08 instant like

  • whoa whoa whoa. warm. in sf

  • my sister "forgot" to turn the volume back down (since she had in on 100) so i plug in my headphones and die at the begining.

  • As much as I love Alex and as much as I enjoy this video, I have to be honest...I usually return to it to listen to the ending...It's just as beautiful a thing to say as San Francisco is a place to be.

  • 3:43 Alex has eyes! :O

  • that awkward moment where alex gets really deep at the end of the video and then it cuts off really suddenly interrupting your thoughts.

  • thumbs up if you just wanna hug him at the end of the video...

  • I live in The City, and this video always makes me feel like I live in the best place in the world.

  • also lol at the tags

  • YOU WERE IN SAN FRANCISCO. and there was no fog.

    WHAAAAAAAAT

  • That's deep man. That ending was really deep.

  • i have literally been in the exact place he was standing. *fangirls*

  • Americans drive right. ON THE RIGHT SIDE. jajaja...

  • Alex.... to you, its the wrong side of the road... to us...its right and you guys are on the wrong side

  • Yes Alex, WE drive on the wrong side of the road. lols *sarcasm

  • In which hotel, did you stay ?

  • love the amber ring hes wearing :P

  • in Australia we drive on the left too! :)

  • I know where 1:34 is. I walk by there on most Sundays. I can't believe Alex was there.

  • I wonder if he walked past my house

  • Yeah, you could go through life thinking English weather blows goats, but I like to make the best of it. I'm proud of our 200 annual days of downpour, and our November frosts and even our indecisive summers. Whatever the weather is like, it can't get me down. I don't see why you wouldn't want to think this way.

  • Oh cool, you went through The Presidio (I think that's how you spell it, lol)... my brother in law was born there, back when it was still an Army base in the 1970s.

  • It's funny, in no way do I consider myself patriotic to the U.S., but every time someone from the U.K. says we drive on the wrong side of the road (even jokingly) I have this sudden urge to shout back that, in fact, THEY have it wrong.

  • Alex you look SO SAn Fransisco in ur "adventurer" outfit there. Not even joking, you fit in so well. actually...with the addition of bizzare clothes that u now have an extensive amount of in your closet...you could really blend in in that city. xD

  • it really awesome watching this and being able to know where is san fran he is. ive been to SF so many times its almost annoying, but i never get tired of seeing the golden gate bridge, or the marina that he was at. recently for my 18th birthday i was able to go on a ferry UNDER the bridge! it was pretty awesome :)

i wish i had known alex was in SF, because you know, i could go stalk him. its only an hour south of where i live after all xD

  • Comment removed

  • america drives on the wrong side of the road because Australia and England drive on the other side

  • lol no alex U drive on the wrong side of the rode

    lol kidiin love ur videos

  • My favorite part of the American Revolution was moving to the right side!

  • I was in San fran at the same time as you ad I missed you FML

  • i like how you went to new york chichago and san fran cause this summer i went coast to coast via those cities. sorry to get all fangirl on you. its a connection ;)

  • Yup,the dance was extremely crazy :D

  • You should come to New Zealand ^^ We drive on the left side xD

  • 1:46 THATS MY CAR <3

  • "they drive on the wrong side of the road" so weird to hear him say that cuz we say that about them

  • I'm so incredibly jealous of you right now. To be able to do something like visit Pixar, fly to NY, fly to Chicago, fly wherever, is just a marvelous opportunity. So incredibly jealous...

  • Wow.. :) In just the last few seconds of that video, you summed up what I've been trying to figure out how to say my whole life. That's how I've always felt about things, and I've just always been so grateful for it. Thank you so much, Alex. :)

  • We'll never forget how it feels to be young... :)

  • think right, drive left. Loved it:)

  • i live in the bay area. now, whenever i go to san francisco, i'll be able to think, holy crap. alex might've walked on the street that i'm walking on right now.

  • His tags! Omg! Don't worry Alex I'd never leave you!

  • 2:57 - Holy shit. I never noticed you were referencing The Room before! Best film ever.

  • @NotJabels24 Yes! He also references it at the very beginning! I'm so glad The Room has reached international theaters.

  • The ending of this video feels like it was the inspiration for Forever Yours... think about it.

  • nice sentimental ending there alex :)

    x

  • faved for that little bit at the end. <3 you alex

  • OMG I LIVE THERE

  • I once was an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow to the knee...

  • You probably won't read this, but I think you would really like Portland, Oregon. It's a lot cooler and rainy but everywhere in the northwest is. The waterfront is just gorgeous no matter what time of year it is and it has the perfect balance between city life and the outdoors since it's right by the mountains and the river. The culinary industry is amazing along with the music and artisan micro brewed beers. If you google image it the pictures are beautiful. KNRK 94.7fm is the best station

  • @CrossEyedElf I was just thinking he should come to the Seattle area because it's fun here and then I could maybe meet him, but I go to a college in Oregon, so that would be even better! :D

  • its scary to me that he was in places I know.... I went there for a full month this summer. So weird

  • In Australia we drive on the left :)

  • Keeping on the left first entered English law in 1756 and the first known keep-right law in the United States was in 1792.

    Fun bit of trivia lol

  • Way to have a deep moment at the end.

  • No, Alex, actually most of the world drives on the right side of the world, it's just you peculiar Englishmen who drive on the left. But you've got Doctor Who, so I guess that's okay. :D

  • @CauseMyNameIsMeg as if (they suck) ha ah aha ha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha ha aha aha XD

  • if you click on "transcribe audio" then you will notice that alex's crazy dance is called steve

  • OH MY GOD. As soon as you started panning the golden gate bridge, I was all like "lololol" then you were all like *music stuff* then I was all like "LOLOLOL"

You are now significantly more awesome.

  • Oh god. In America we think people in England drive on the wrong side of the road. xD

  • The end is quite inspiring actually, when I've finished Uni I hope to be adventurous like this guy, to travel the world and stuff. I'm working with elderly people with dementia at the moment so it really makes me think about how we need to take as many chances as we can to do the things that take our breath away as one day we might not be able to. Bit deep, but yeah.. :)

  • At the end you look like you're going to cry :(

  • SCOTLAND hhAHH

  • i love you alex, you make being deep cool

  • Oh my gosh I was in SF the day you were for wondercon and saw those silk milk people. :D I now drink silk milk!

  • So emotional, Xx

  • This is wonderful.

  • back in the days, were Alex wore relatively normal clothes.

  • "Everyone here drives on the wrong side of the road" We drive on the RIGHT side;) Yes pun intended.

  • love you alex but please don't ever wear your sweater tied around for waist

  • loving all of the room references :)

  • I've lived in Sf my whole life and never have I walked on the Golden Gate bridge. I've driven on it but never walk. I barley go across it anyways, I'm usually crossing the Bay bridge. It's lucky you came when it was sunny, Alex. It usually foggy but who doesn't love the fog? :)

  • alex you should come to washington :) its really awesome we have salmon

  • The tags are quite awkward, b/c my name's Christine and I've recently left someone :'P Hope you've recovered by now.

  • i knew exactly where you where in 1:48!!! heeeheee

  • I'm currently living in Berkeley till May 2012. I've been here since August and I've only been to San Francisco (about an hour or so away) once and I didn't see the bridge because it was covered by fog... FML

  • omg he is in scoland :O

  • look at the tags... Christine?

  • I love how he did end up wearing his jacket even though he said he wasn't going to need it. And I don't know if I'm the only one but I really love his hair in this video. I loved the ending. I wish I could know what it feels like to walk to the Golden Gate Bridge just because you could.

  • Thank you, Alex, for this video. It might be 'underappreciated', but people will probably go through life not knowing fulfilment like you did in that moment; so for that, thank you.

  • it IS good.

  • Mr. Day, please do keep in mind that, in England, driving on the left is right, while driving on the left, in America, just makes you dead.

  • Why don't you just marry me already?

  • I know exactly the feeling you're talking about.

  • So when are you coming to the Chicago area? :3

  • noooooo......you drive in the wrong side of the road.

  • @NeedHim6543 Funny, right before this video I watched an extremely interesting "commercial" about how America was literally plummeting down the list of economically free countries and how this would affect the quality of life here. Also, I don't mean to be a dick, because I'm a girl, but grammar is important when referring to the superiority of your social group.

  • that's deep, man...

  • god I love to be british

  • um no. we drive on the *right* side of the road, you guys drive on the left--the *wrong*--side of the road. duh :)

  • I would Only Live in America and I'm proud to be an American those of u who live in a foreign country and come here and complain go back tooo yourssssss.............. and also its funny cuz foreigners love coming here they wish they were Americans lol

  • @NeedHim6543 You realize that what you said is the EXACT reason that countries around the world believe the stereotype that Americans are arrogant, right? I doubt many people from foreign countries wish to be American, except for third world countries and places where the quality of life is not very good at all.

  • No actully in America we drive on the right side and it would be werid for us driving on the left side it should stay that way lol.

  • i actually love you. turning such a funny bit into something that makes me feel smart and wistful and lovely and happy. cheers alex.

by the way, you got such a great day there. i lived there for nine years and it was foggy something like 102% of the time.

  • I've been on that beach :) we cycled across the bridge and stopped at that beach beforehand :)

  • i totally share that feeling, im always terrified to forget.... anyway! good vlog ur awesome! (:

  • I can't believe I started bawling watching this video!! hahaha just lovely!

  • "Think right, drive left." This will just stay with me forever lol. :)

  • @hipstersavannah I understand where you're coming from, and I agree that alex may very well make a good poet.... But that quote you extracted, that's not poetry :L

  • I love walking around a town just because you can xd

  • OMG 2:57 BEST REFERENCE EVER

  • It's true, the RIGHT way to drive is on the LEFT side of the roaddd :)

  • Comment removed

  • All of the guys I know are disgusting and not at all like you Alex. I love the way you express what you feel and say what you want no matter if it will get you into trouble or not. I am kind of the same.

  • can't believe you scored such good sf weather... you managed to avoid the tourist's biggest mistake. wearing shorts and t-shirts. in 50 degree weather.

  • So deep.

  • To think I live in san francisco (and been in every part where your feet touched) and i didnt see you! I want to cry now.

  • The ending makes me feel like I just watched an hour long documentary, not a 3 minute 49 second video. So congratulations.

  • The ending bit makes me cry a little. xD

  • i think alex looks really hot with longer hair

  • YES YES YES you have watched the room and you're my favorite vlogger. hi doggy! You're tearing me apart.

  • i just noticed the tags, portal 2 ftw

  • "really can't be bothered to write anything meaningful cos christine just left so am sad and will play more portal two cheer myself up"

  • We Americans drive on the RIGHT side of the road. Haha double meaning ftw.

  • im pretty sure europe is the only place that you drive on the left

  • I wish you walked to Washington- I live there! Haha.

  • did you just break up with the golden gate bridge....

  • the end was very touching

  • sorry to break it to ya alex, dear, but you guys drive on the wrong side of the road.

  • no we don't drive on the wrong side, we drive on the right side.

ahhhh see what i did there.

  • @LoVeeEdwardCullen It's just that when you're on the internet most of them assume that you are American, and Americans say that they are so much better than all others while they are only better than most militarily, and it is often said that if you go to America it is all much better. In most cases that is wrong. I could go on, but i think i have made my point.

  • Most of the world drives on the right. The British drive on the left because you mount your horse from the left side. It's an old tradition. We all have diff ways of doing things. So deal with it peeps! :P American and the UK FTW :D

  • @LoVeeEdwardCullen I'm not American. I actually hate America.

  • you're quite a sweet soul.

  • @LoVeeEdwardCullen Actually i can't understand how the British can drive on the left side.

  • Alex you have inspired me to travel alone, which I was always wary of doing before this video.

  • Woo! San Francisco! I've been there way more times than I can count and I'm still not tired of it :D

  • The description of your feelings toward your trip was VERY deep

  • More than half of the world drives on the right side, so it is the British that drives on the wrong side.

  • 70% of the world drives on the right side =)

but if i knew you were going to be in sf ..i would have met yah

  • the right way is the right side hehe :)

  • I LIVE SO CLOSE TO WHERE YOU WERE WALKING!!!

  • nooooo....the americans do it the right wayy! you "redcoast" do it the wrong way.....rotflol...jk jk jk jk jk

  • I'm from the bay area and it's funny because that feeling you just described, is exactly how I feel when I go to London.

  • love how every single comment is from america(:

  • Hahhaah! The tag!! Innovative!! Damn, i love his humor and acsent!!

  • deep thoughts in the end :)

  • i'm surprised it wasn't foggy, lol. san fran is foggy 85% of the time.

  • Humming the theme to 'The Room' while recording the bridge LOL

  • What a fuckin sap

  • It would really be weird for us to drive on the left side, as our steering wheels are on the left side...plus, all the infrastructure change (lights, signs, road paint, etc)...too expensive.

    although it made me laugh.

  • We drive on the right side because that's the right side to be on... It just makes sense

  • YOU drive on the wrong side.

  • We, american's, are rebels. we like to be dangerous and drive on the "wrong" side of the road.

  • Just so you know the correct way to drive is on the right. Right s right.

  • Haha I hope he realizes that America is certainly not the only country that drives on the left. I've been to quite a few countries and the UK is the only one where they drive on the left that I've seen. Granted, I don't think there is a "right" side of the road to drive on I'm just saying there's nothing wrong about driving on the right side of the road.

  • @HeardGraceshot UK, Ireland and Australia all drive on the left side of the road.

  • @andyot7777 I said UK and I knew about Ireland and Australia is obvious. Again, I'm not saying there's a right or wrong side of the road but it bugs me when people say the right side of the road is always the left.

  • @HeardGraceshot Misunderstanding mate. I have the same notion, there is no "right" side. Nor is there a "wrong" side.

Different places are different. And that's what makes us all awesome.

  • Anyone else notice the way to in love elderly couple at the end of the video that remain in shot the ENTIRE TIME?!

  • "we drive on the right side we drive on the left"

Sorry we drive on the right AND the right:) your statement alone! Haha.

I'm not gonna lie I adore your accent so that's what draws me to these videos:P am I weird? Well.... Maybe.... Haha. Love san Francisco! Going this summer:) I live in California:)

  • Yass !! Scotland FTW !!! :)

  • I appreciate your video. I just came back from Europe, you describe how I felt exactly walking around Florence, Vienna and Amsterdam because I could. Now back in California, your video brought me back there. Thanks.

  • those glasses are way too big for you.

  • Hey Alex. I discovered your videos through Charlie's videos and watched the twilight series first (very funny by the way) but I really really like all your other videos too. Whats more you are an amazing musician and very creative. You really make my day. Thank you :)

  • As someone who cares for the elderly i can honestly say that the end of this video really left me pondering if there is a switch gets flipped in the human brain that with age makes you suddenly less concerned with life and what you have accomplished and increasingly concerned about your bowel movements?

  • How to drive right-on the left
