  • thanx for telling me to skip to 3:12!!

  • The Star Spangles banner was written in 1814, it was first played 104 yrs later, at the 1918 World Series at the 7th inning stretch, it was adopted by baseball and has been played at most games since. It wasn't untill 1931 when the U.S. decided it needed a national anthem, and adopted the Star Spangled Banner. Hendrix performance was right for the times. It was his way of expressing the feeling of some of american youth. That is the great thing about america, freedom of expression. Best ever.

  • Best rendition ever!!! Moves my hubby/Vietnam Vet/to tears(good ones)& he doesn't cry

  • I think it was George Harrison who said it best..."Before Jimi, we were all just strumming"!!!

  • 9 people are just faggots.. plain and simple.. and they should burn in hell...

  • he just played the history of america in like 3 and a half minutes

  • listin to his guitar... its not just noise it sounds like people screaming planes crashing and rockets hissing... just listen

  • NEXT I wanna do a song by Frances Scott Key---(JIMI...

  • this gives me chills and ballin tears at the same time

  • Hey man, learn to read...American "physique" you mean an American PSYCHE!

  • Cut to the chase 3:01

  • If this wasn't such a sexy statement, it could be a shreds video.

  • WOW pure awesomnesss ♥♥

  • freestyle jazz form..also to me it represents the barbaric nature of american political culture creating wars that are not needed.the song is meant to invoke a battle against the odds and overcoming adversities to come out the other side stronger than before and Jimi saw that this has turned into a myth.

  • um no offence or anything you got good info on him but you really should of named the vidieo facts about jimi hendrix

  • they played this song at the protests at the madison capital building in wisconson to impeach scott walker/repeal the bill. i think i died of excitement.

  • He was not druged up..he was there from 6 the nigt before , and went on around 6 am..fucking small minded people who don't understand ..it was an artistic redition of a difficult song to sing. And a nation 's national anthem..you don't understand a song and the letter or message behind it..automaticly it's drugs ..that's why he played it that way ..you stupid fucks..this comment is aimed at the group the mediator mentions a drug fuelled song.

  • @tc112760 regardless he was probably fucked up. drugs were like coffee to this man. but his guitar talent is unmistakably the best, drugs or no drugs. no one can deny that, or the message behind the song

  • @tc112760 He was definitely on some acid, and as I recall from an acid trip once upon a time, that trip lasted about 15 hours. I do not think that Jimi was only good because of drugs, but i agree with nedmccrady1588 on the point that drugs were like coffee to this man. Jimi should be an inspiration to us all on the music aspect of his life, and a reminder on the drug side of his life. I do not judge him for what he did, because it was his life; who am I to tell him what to do?

  • I know what this song means ..he said (Jimi) this is how I play it..nothing else no persuasion about the war..it is as simple as that.

  • holy shit that was a beast !!!!!

  • if he wanted to represent bombs because of the anthem, then fucking please play dive bombs jimi!!!!! dont give us that shitty sounds :(

  • best part is the brother's face @ 5:44 & the dude who turns to look @ him & then sorta smiles !

  • dude record your speech better you messed up soooow maanny ttiimmeeesss

  • I think Machine Gun by Band of Gypsys has a more Vietnam War feel to it than the star spangled banner, in my opinion. But both are mind blowing and have affected me deeply.

  • Funny thing is that trolls are just trying to get a rise out of people. Unfortunately, most of the time, it works. Do you honestly think that it really matters when all is said and done? I'm pretty sure that even Hendrix himself would really give a damn. He'd probably just smile, take a drag, then a swig, and go about his business. The point is that if you feed a stray, they come back. If you don't, then they won't. In other words, don't give them their rise and they'll disappear.

  • The Best everyone else stand down

  • @marcOantoni0 there are some people you should never troll, Jimi is one of them

  • @marcOantoni0 please go take you'r hate somewhere else Hendrix= god of the freaking guitar.

  • @marcOantoni0 thats what your mom did to my dick! signed hendrix himself

  • @marcOantoni0 someones a fag

  • @ 2:27 thats cause hendrix was the man

  • Your speech is clipped and awkward at times. It seems like you are trying too hard.

  • i disagree..you were perfect with it..most people dont know why its so distorted but if you listen it sounds like war...intense crazy...even makes it sounds likes guns and bombs and then you hear the recognizable tune of the star spangled banner....he may have been a druggie but shit he was creative as hell and talented...

  • That dude is far too analytical of this performance - it's quite simple - the guy was on drugs.

  • great job,love ya,miss you JIMI

  • This is great - thanks buddy!

  • love the fringe!! he was the best lefty ever!!

  • YES!
