Phi Slamma Jamma (UH), the Twin Towers (Dream and Sampson) and Twin Towers II (Yao and T-Mac)... three Houston Basketball dynasties that never fully materialized.
This really makes me think b4 when mj was in the league, and you really start to see how many great players he had to play against and also embarrass hahhaa
@HymanKaplan portland had drexler tho, and at the time it was percieved that drexler would be the greater in the NBA, but in saying that i think the combination of drexler/jordan couldve easily been as effective as jordan/pippen but who knows.
Its funny that he only played basketbal for 5 years then got into NBA but hey if i was that tall it would have a shot in the NBA if i developed them skills in a short period which was the reason it happend
As a Knick fan since 1989, it always amazed me how people could even think that Ewing was in the same league as Hakeem -- Hakeem was a FAR better defender, passer and rebounder, and had many more moves. The only thing Ewing did better was the jumpshot, but unlike Ewing, Hakeem would consistently come through in the clutch, while Ewing wouldn't.
@Diengification possibly, but I don't blame them for picking Olajuwon, big men as good as Hakeem are always the hardest to find, and while they knew Jordan was great I doubt they could really foresee how amazing he really was going to be.
i watched the video live, thank you. and its one of the biggest upsets ever! but what do i know, right? that was all Jimmy V! probably 10-1 underdogs. but keep gloating on it, since its the only thing you got going. i remember mj, he was 3rd pick in the draft, right?
Hell yeah my dad Flipped shit when NC state beat these guys. Nobody ever gave NC State the chance. One of the biggest upsets in history. Slamma Jamma got beat by the Packa Attacka. lol. UNC and NCState would back to back titles. Representing.
maybe but they didnt bring that shit in to Olajuwon did they? bunch of 3's! only thing they could do, i blame the guards/coach. not dreams fault. they had one player that could hit 3's and they left him open, they deserve to lose. besides clyde almost had the steal then olajuwon let they guy have the airball layup. cougars were a way better team, people get lucky kid, that wouldnt happen again, u can tell ur dad that.
Ohhh! Got me there...psych! Well guess what? What player on that shitty team won NBA Titles, Real titles! Oh wait, not finished with you yet, how many "Wacka Attacka" alumni are in the HOF? How bout 50 greatest!? ZERO!! Besides it was for Jimmy V. he passed away shortly after, so I don't mind it that way. He as a coach deserved, team was irrelevant.
Uhmm Im still trying to figure out your point. Your saying a class of Non HOF beat a class full of HOF? How does that diminish NC States accomplishment? Wait... it doesnt. It only means Hakeem and Clyde failed constantly in clutch situations. Clyde 92 finals, Hakeem 86 finals, actually most of their career they failed to lead their teams to titles.. including the houston cougars. They only managed to squeak titles in while MJ was gone. Your welcome on that history lesson. : )
2 rings in 3 tries...a failure? I guess u would know. even in the one loss they beat the defending champs on the road!! dream and glide failed ? or a nobody was left open in the corner for 3's all 2nd half? squeak titles while MJ was gone? or MJ knew when to get the hell out? bottom line houston got the better of the bulls head up, period. do u even know any of wolfpack players? and all but russell failed to lead their teams to titles most of the time, even mj only won 6, played more than 12.
lol more like he only showed up 3 times in the finals out of his whole career and if you include his college career its 2 out of 2. Not really something to brag about considering MJ won every single one of his finals but hell what do I know. NC State > Houston every single time you watch this video.
@LolsitzGeorge Ralph Sampson. Interestingly, had Houston traded Sampson for Drexler and a first-round pick, Hakeem, Drexler, and Jordan could've been teammates.
Only good basketball players can block Kareem, and Hakeem is surely one of them.

It's weird that this was made in the mid-1990s and the narrator mentioned "Twin Towers" and "terror" in the same sentence, sad but true.

No, they probably would have been dumb enough to create a "twin towers" with Ralph Sampson and Sam Bowie instead...LOL
