I'm so sorry! this happened to a friend of mine. She had the option of staying an extra night in the hosp but didn't. Her dog tried to wake her all night, and finally in the morning, she went to check on the baby, who had slept on the couch with her fiance. The baby was on the floor, cold, while he was still sleeping on the couch. They say SIDS, but we think it wasn't, but still an accident. God bless you. Watching my friend go through this, over 2 years ago, is still difficult.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your precious girl was/is beautiful. I am a mother of 2 boys. 6yrs and 19mths both were born prematurally, we almost lost our first. We were fortunate that things turned out for us in the end, I can't imagine my life without my babies. Although I don't know your true pain, I cry for/with you. It has been a long two years and still feels like it was yesterday. We have now been told that Julie may have had something wrong genetically so it may not have been SIDS that took her. As far as I know it helps to get rid of jaundice and also protects from SIDS. Honestly though I think there was a major negligence case on the hospital side... How could they have ignore the fact she wasn't urinating or poopin at all... This is not at all normal...

Your angel is so georgous. I'm curious though... did they say anything about jaundice while you were in the hospital? I notice as the video goes on, her tone becomes more and more yellowish tan. My daughter had it, and I thought she was just tan, but looking back at pictures... I see it now. Either which way... she is so georgous!!!
Hello, and thank you for your comments. She was beautiful. Julie was very jaundiced the entire time and had lost a lot of her body weight, she hadn't urinated at all in the four days we were at the hospital. My husband and I knew when we brought her home that something wasn't right and that night she passed. They are saying it was SIDS because there is no other explanation but I believe that the hospital dropped the ball.
@blondejen24 wow... just amazing at how neglegent they were. Just curious... are you in the states or canada? That bothers me so much. All they had to do was put her under a billi light, and do a mri to see if she had a blockage somewhere. Such an easy fix if that was indeed the problem. Have you had any little ones since having her? Always trust your intuition. A mothers intuition is not comparable to anything else. I am going to school to be a NICU nurse, so hearing this just saddens me.
When you say a blockage, what do you mean? Do you have any idea what might have caused her not to urinate at all? She wasn't pooping either, she had one meconium when she was born and that was it as well. I kept changing clean diapers the entire time. The nurses just kept saying that they had no idea why she wasn't going to the bathroom. I live in Canada and by some small miracle we became pregnant again 3 months later with our now son Austen and he was born four days before she was.
@blondejen24 well... there are certainly an abundance of things that could be the answer. One reason urinary blockages happen in baby girls is due to bacteria entering the vagina and creating a UTI, which in turn can cause a blockage. Did Julie have a bowel movement while inside you? One of the signs of Jaundice is not being able to urinate or have a bowel actually. When you don't have a bowel, then the toxins (billirubin in this case) build up and basically damage the liver...
@blondejen24 and causes the yellowish orange skin tone. That is also why it is very important to wipe baby girls bottoms a certain way. Also... did they do any blood work? I've heard some great things about Canada, and some not so great stuff. So... I'm not surprised at all. My daughter, who is just 5 months older than your Julie had a severe case of Jaundice as well, but she got the appropriate care. You know what... this is not a SIDS case at all. It's pure neglegence on the hospitals behalf.

I think I've watched all of the similar videos on youtube---so sad. I tell myself not to keep watching them, but they are all so precious.
