  • Good stuff. Back when James Bond movies had class.

  • Creepiest intro in a Bond film ever.

  • I wanted to be one of Bond's performers, when I was a young boy.

  • Dancing dots? O_O

  • @SovietLenin1 Dr.No was made in 1962, it's what was in back then.

  • @60romeman I know. I just tought it was a bit wierd. xD

  • @dreadlord9200 i know, i know, im making fun of it idiot

  • @dreadlord9200 its also 'mice' not 'men'

  • @pulpfictioninorder I get it

  • The theme is best !

  • Animation: Trevor Bond :O

  • fuck i love this song

  • This is where Steve Jobs got his iPod ad idea!

  • @fanboy2015 stop swearing

  • It's god a bloody nursery rhyme in it!!!!

  • @LeBartman

It's actually a classic calypso version of the nursery rhyme

  • James bond themes were the best in 70's-80's, but still phenomenal in 60's :D I miss those times, even though I didn't even live then.

  • The move that bromidically STARTED IT ALL.

  • best bond opening

  • Great! 2 Other songs after the famous main theme? Anyone knows the title of the last one? Reggae-like song?

  • and you had your 6

  • They should remake the first 4 bonds

  • @austinthebookworm5 Wrong, they should remake all the Connery and Moore films.

  • @MRJStudios2010

The first 4 bonds are all the Sean Connery ones (except that weird, ninja one), but I don't know about Roger Moore...

  • @austinthebookworm5 agree...the newest ones are not as good as the old ones

  • And furthermore, why is Greene even trying to drought Bolivia? What's the purpose? There's nothing of value there because there is no oil. Why do they want to take over what is essentially a sand box with people living in it? It makes NO FUCKING SENSE!!!!! Oil? Water? Money? What the Hell are you after? And why do you need it? Purpose, movie. WE NEED PURPOSE" Yeah, I didn't like it.

  • @KaptinKilla Greene wants to drive up utilities prices once Medrano takes over. So, money. They also want Medrano in power, as he is in their pocket; thus power. They also want the deal(s) made (more money) between with the US and Britain over the false presumption of oil. Just one Quantum scheme of many -- to increase funding/power for something more nefarious to be revealed later...

  • @redbulldog OK, that's all fine and dandy, but what about M disobeying the prime minister? I could never figure out why she would do that, her being M, the die hard bureaucrat. She strikes me as the type who gives orders by following orders, and the prime minister made himself pretty clear to me.

  • @KaptinKilla I don't recall M being too beholden to superiors or a die hard bureaucrat up until QOS. You've a different read on M than I. But, she went through motions to detain Bond but really wanted him free as he was onto something and she had a bit of faith. She's turned off by his extreme/destructive tactics, but turned on when they get results. She was gambling on the latter. She was also wrong that he was not duty driven. "I never left" and all that.

  • @KaptinKilla The new M was only posited as a rule-following "bean counter" at the beginning of Goldeneye. Since then, she's been showing there's far more to her than that. So...M being torn but ultimately backing Bond isn't too surprising. Particularly if you allow a little bit of "franchise momentum" to carry over the reboot, which is really just a semi-reboot all things considered. M and her character traits weren't rebooted, after all. Only James.

  • daniel craig looked too much like a hitman

  • Wipeout! Oh wait, thats the wrong song lol.

  • I just noticed-- he's off centre in the gun barrel scene!

Nonetheless, the movie is still innovating and awesome altogether. ;)

  • shit quality

  • I like this openening because its 007's main theme all the way through the series!!!

  • thank god there is someone on the internet that likes daniel craig and is not putting other bonds ahead of him i think hes the best after connery people need to get thier minds straight and observe how he is better than the rest

  • i bet when people first saw this at the cinema they were like.......WTF lol

  • @MrClassicDoctorWho That or "Far out, man! Like, I'm diggin' it!"

  • @schroeder8911 TOTALY GNARLY MAN!!!!!!!

  • @nickwalco LOL

  • @MrClassicDoctorWho it was the 60s, they were probs used to crazy shit like tht

  • @Seafordshadow i suppose but it was only the early 60s. I don't think things were swinging just yet lol

  • @MrClassicDoctorWho I bet lol

  • 1:35 DANCE TIME!

  • Had I been alive in the 60s and seeing this for the 1st time, Id probably walk out of the theater from seeing this intro. Its not that its bad, it just doesn't imply that the movie is an action movie.

  • There will never be another Bond like Sean Connery. Never! I have to admit I do like Daniel Craig, though. But no one else.

  • my favorite part from ALL James movies; Opening credits.

  • danel creag is ok but roger more was the best

  • Quantum of Solace was an absolute disaster, watch the review on youtube by mark Kermode a professional film critic who analyses the shit film.

  • first time you see this intro, youve gotta admit, you knew you were in for a good movie and spent your money's worth

  • That blonde chick in a white bikini gave me my first erection when I was a kid!! LOL!!!

  • @bobbyhitsbakk009 That well-known woman is Ursula Andress a Swiss actress and 1960s sex symbol.

  • @bobbyhitsbakk009 hopefully not your last.

  • Best intro from ALL Bonds =) Sen Connery best Bond aswell, Dr. No, FUCKING BRILLIENT MOVIE! My fave would be Octupussy though =)

  • Bond needs the Jason Bourne treatment if he wants to be accepted by today's audience.

  • These were the real Bond films, nowadays they have CGI and effects and guns shooting.

    Classic is always the best.

  • i know how to play this song on my guitar

  • R.I.P. JOSEPH WISEMAN

THE ONE AND ONLY Dr. NO

  • Great theme up to the three blind mice part..

  • Best. Theme Song. Ever.

  • @manysocksonfeet - nope, but def in top 5. Hawaii 5-0, Wild Wild West, Avengers all as good.

  • Connery destroyed the role for anyone who followed. IMO the only guy who does a decent job of filling his shoes is Craig, who benefits tremendously from the time gap between him and Connery and the advances in movie making in the past 45 years. Although I liked Roger Moore as "The Saint", I would have to say he was easily the worst Bond. The more natural, unspoiled setting in Dr. No and the absence of gadgetry gave this movie much more of a "book" feel to it, and was the best of the series IMO.

  • @Waszma please explain what u mean when u are refering to roger moore as 'the saint'.

  • @Dezergold Hi....Moore played "Simon Templar" AKA "The Saint" on the tube early 60's. He was good in the role..drove a Volvo 1800 with the license plate "ST-1"

  • "Minnows pretending to be whales"....

  • overcoooooll

  • 007 is cool! forever

  • Most fascinating music I have ever heard! John Barry's Dr. NO theme music cannot be forgotten ever because it inspiring like anything! My all time favourite music!

  • Roger Moore always was my personal minion but I really love all the Bonds. Sean was the 1st and most memorable, charming, charismatic Bond

  • the badder the quality, the better this theme sounds

  • Apparently Fleming called Connery an "overgrown stuntman". I wonder what he'd think of Craig??

  • @mrbain123 But he grew to love him, and even retconned JB's history so that his father was Scottish.

  • @cmrxs True, he did in the novel OHMSS. The thing is Connery had a certain 'look' to him that matched Bond. He had a physical toughness AND a natural look of eligance. He was the right height and had roughly the right build (slim yet atheletic). IF obviously realised that. Craig is tough, handsome and certainly has potential. However, physically, he not how IF described Bond. Out of all the actors he probably the one who looks most like an "overgrown stuntman".

  • why is it so hard to find a mp3 of this whole intro?

  • Kabel Eins xD Wo die Bond Reihen letztens liefen ^^

  • tree blind mice

  • dr no intro is psycadelic

  • What's the name of the song in the end of the credits?

  • three blind mice, Jamaican-style. LOL. may have been acceptable in the 1960s but if they do this (fuse some reggaetized kiddie nursery rhyme into the opening theme of a serious spy movie) in the 2010s it'd make the film appear farcical.

  • @fanatix2008 It was viewed as farcical when released in '62. Not one of them were to be taken seriously from the get go.

  • I think it's Kingston Calypso

  • Trust me, every true 'analyzing' Bond fan (who have read the books) and even the makers/producers themselves, liked Timothy Dalton most. They still preferred him over Brosnan but Dalton refused while it was taking too long. He was also aksed several times before, but he was too young or had other contracts.

  • @maxkramer, I'd agree, his portrayal was the most believable.

  • to obiwanobiwan13

  • der erste bond und wie ich meine mit einer der besten!!!!

  • aber casino royale ist prima

  • I'm currently 3/4 of the way through the book. Is the book and movie very much alike or are their a lot of differences?

  • @Basomic well some parts are not the same but its worth it

  • i find this as a good begining in the James Bond Movies it must have bin awsome at its time :D

i mean Dr No is not a good enemy but he is a good begining for the rest that would come after him :)

  • All the Bonds had their own strengths and flaws and I enjoyed them all.

  • A long time ago I read that in pre-screening this film audiences laughed out loud at inappropriate times. THAT made them re edit it ion a more "tongue in cheek" style. Sophistication of audiences has diminished in subsequent decades guys!

  • @clericjack Lucky you, I hate some them. and The Man with the Golden Gun I simply detest, along with most of Moore's Bond movies

  • Good old days! I hate the new "blond bond muscle head..." 'this is what Bond should look like!

  • sean connery's bond movies were ok but i hated roger moore

  • Yes, with regard to Roger Moore, you may has well have outfitted a two by four with a tuxedo. However, For Your Eyes Only is still a good film as is Octopussy and The Spy Who Loved Me.

  • @alpinweiss Actually, Connery used to be a body builder before he got into acting...

  • Check out the video response = ), a brand new trailer I made for this movie (One of my favorites) to accompany an original song of mine.

  • Save for the cold war references, the next director of the next James Bond film needs to revisit the earlier films in order to get a feel for the character. Quantum of Solace was only James Bond in name.

Daniel Craig is excellent but he needs a script to back up his talent.

  • Yes, well said. Totally agree.

  • @Tubernaut Not to mention gadgets. Why would anybody spend a decade setting John Cleese up to be the new Q and then not use him?

  • @AssHat313 Exactly.

  • @Tubernaut he reminds me too much of lazenbys bond, hes not all about the ladies except getting the job done

  • @DrOmega I noticed that myself. I think Mr. Craig will be more the lothario as he settles into the role.

  • @Tubernaut both films he was in reminded me of the horrible bullshit that was the american Godzilla. he bore the name but was not a godzilla like those 2 films were. Casino and Solace bore the bond name but were not bond films.

  • @Colton5 I agree with you on Quantum of Solace as it was far too action oriented. However, I thought Casino Royale was very good and to a point, faithful to the Ian Fleming novel.

  • @Tubernaut yeah, you have to admit that casino royale needed some extra oomph to become a movie. but the second half of the movie is essentially just like the book.

  • @Tubernaut Actually, the Daniel Craig Bond is way more accurate in terms of the books. James Bond was not originally the knight in shining armor portrayed by Sean Connery. He was more of an anti-hero. Although I absolutely love Sean Connery as Bond and he is still the gold standard for me, I think the Craig character is second best.

  • @mattdenicola95 You are very much correct. But ya know, it's hard to persuade the fans to accept him after 40 years of having the same, ol' Bond we all love and care about. I like Mr. Craig and I still think he nailed the Bond-feeling in his actions, even if he lacks some over-the-top charm the typical Bond character has.

  • @Tubernaut Earlier films don't need to be revisited, we don't need rehash. The Craig series is good on its own. Should just be a little less fast-paced.

  • @deusirae76 I agree with you on the issue of pace as the later films tend to be more action then plot oriented.

  • @Tubernaut Very true. QOS was too fast paced for me. Even the climax was confusing:

"um... ok. Craig (Bond) is going to the desert to kill Almaric (Greene) because... he killed Fields...? Is that it? The Prime Minister clearly scolded M for letting Bond harass Greene and clearly doesn't believe Quantum exists. M arrests Bond (only just barely showing enough regret to make us question her real thoughts. Then... she says something along the lines of...[continues next COM]

  • @KaptinKilla "Fuck it, let him go..." Wh-ch-f-ck! What the hell! Won't you get fired, you stupid person? You're boss clearly is pissed and doesn't want you jetting about in Greene's business! AND WHAT JUST THE HELL IS HIS PLAN!?! THERE IS NO OIL! WHY DOESN'T BOND TELL M ABOUT THAT GREENE IS PURPOSELY DROUGHTING BOLIVIA!?! THEN SHE CAN SEND THE FUCKING ARMY IN TO ARREST GREENE AND MEDRANO! Now granted, action movies are centered around the one-man army cliche, but this is just rediculous.... -->

  • @KaptinKilla I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • Comment removed

  • @Tubernaut Yes you could... go out to the front door of EON Production's corporate offices, holding up a copy of QOS and a revolver shouting, "WHAT A PATHETIC, PUTRID PILE OF PANDEMONIOUS PIG SHIT!!!" and fire away until you're empty... and then a few more times after that.

  • @Tubernaut Bond has been rouge in the past in License to Kill, and Quantum is what Diamonds are Forever should have been.

  • @Seargent363 From a revenge standpoint, you are correct. Theoretically, You Only Live Twice was the book that followed On Her Majesty's Service and Mr. Bond does exact revenge on Blofeld.

  • @Tubernaut But I would still liked to have seen a real revenge on the big screen. Sure he got it in FYEO, but is wasn't satisfying.

  • @Seargent363 I agree as the teaser for Eyes was more silly than anything else. What interest would Bond have in a stainless steel delicatessen?

  • @Tubernaut XD

  • R.I.P. james bond

  • With today's death of Joseph Wiseman - age 91, there are no living lead villains or henchmen from any of the Connery OO7 films.

  • Comment removed

  • So we can sadly say good bye to an era with the classiest villains ever :/

  • you said it perfectly!

  • Sad but true. However, their work lives forever.

  • r.i.p. Joseph Wiseman

  • R.I.P.

Great actor and Montrealers will truly miss him.

  • Dr No - Definately not just an ordinary criminal! R.I.P.

Gosh, I'd give my left nut to be able to go back to the 60s for a short while. With four kids I guess that wouldn't be much of a sacrifice...

  • Dr. No r.i.p.

  • 0:14 lol he missed

  • I remember watching it as a 5 year old. I thought "WTF".

  • old james bond is james bond

newest 2 films are identical to the bourne trilogy

  • Ha! In the middle it turns into the Apple iPod "silhouette" ads... but better.

I'm not a purist either, they're almost all really well done films in that specific genre, actually almost a sub-genre in themselves! I can watch them almost anytime.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • I agree also that the many Bonds really enrichen the character- and franchise.

How would you rank the Mr. Bonds, however? All have strengths and weaknesses, but it's still fun.

    For me it's:

    -Connery

    -Brosnan

    -Moore

-Craig (but he NEEDS to lose some grit!)

    -Dalton

    -Lazenby

  • i have to say, i didnt like moore...kind of...well he was cool, but i think craig is the only one who gets close to connery in coolness...brosnan wasnt bad, but the new movies are just amazing.

  • For me it's almost the same except I would switch Moore with Craig. Moore was in the most films, but it looked to me he were taking the role as more of a joke. Craigs portrayal seems closer to the novel and Connery and also gets me past the blond hair

  • it is the best,,,, except that little jump when he turns and fires, every pro knows that you take a knee to present a small target, but why quibble? aces all the way!!!

  • Great intro!!! Bond fan 4 life!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love 007.. I have almost all the films, and the video games. Ian Fleming is a genius, R.I.P.

  • The best Bond movie intro.

  • Dr. No: East, West, just points of the compass, each as stupid as the other.

Dr. No: The Americans are fools. I offered my services, they refused. So did the East. Now they can both pay for their mistake.

James Bond: World domination. The same old dream. Our asylums are full of people who think they're Naploeon. Or God.

  • Except I am God.

  • There are 22 James Bond films, only 4 of them feature Russians as the opposition (From Russia With Love, Octopussy, The Living Daylights, and Goldeneye). 4 out of 22 my friend, that's not even close to half.

  • Plus Octopussy wasn't really THE Russians; it was just a rogue Russian general.

  • Very true.

  • There was something magical about 60's Bond movies which is missing in the rest.

Luv the reggae "3 blind mice" .... The cat that swallowed the rat!

  • It's not reggae! Not every Caribbean style of music is reggae! It's calypso.

  • a brilliant start for a whole new legend.

this is going to continue until the human become extinct.... not that it's a bad thing, of course.

  • i think this movie is better than quantum of solace...

  • sexy sean

  • i really really like craig he gives bond a new touch....he plays bond more cold...i really like that bond

  • The new "bond" craig looks more like a russian criminell, the best bonds have already did their jobs and the new directors kills the whole 007 idea.

  • A "Russian criminal"? Are you fucking kidding me? You you really have to be racist in your criticisms?!!!!
