  • Dude tht was nice...i cant wait till mine does tht..soon I think...its a lil.white around the edges...so im guessin it is...

  • I recently purchased a Flinders Range scorpion, and as of late she has rejected cricket offerings for weeks now. After thinking she may have died, my scorpion now has an incredibly arched back (like something you'd seen in an exorcism movie) and doesn't move, only when I tap the glass (I know i'm not supposed to) does she respond with little movement, although her positioning does not change.

I ask: Is my scorpion moulting, or is there something seriously wrong?

  • Do they ever lay on their backs to molt? Mine is laying on its back and I don't know what's going on. D:

  • Im about to get an e scorpion and im gonna feed it mice n lizards

  • my emperor scorpion has a crack on the side of the carapace does this mean hes going to molt?

  • its a boy!

  • Man, nature is awesome!

  • Wow!!!!! Absolutely WOW!!! I only clicked on the video as it is in the related section to one of my Tarantula time lapse moults videos.... I just thought I would click it as I was curious on how scorpion moulted.... I am so glad I did.... Awesome video...

  • Ahhh, so many great vids on youtube that get the attention they deserve. GREAT vid, holy crap I didnt know flat rocks got so damn big! 5 Stars!

  • Great video! i also have the sudden urge to go watch a TOOL video:P

  • Tool rocks! My couple of time-lapse do remind me a little of the old Tool vids I saw on MTV many years ago when I think about it , I didn't notice. Weird that I play guitar some and listen to Metalica, Pantera, Pink Floyd, old Rush, Alterbridge, stuff like that but I came up with my one and only song and it sounds laid back and a little new-age nerdy.

  • how long does it take for a scorpion to molt its skin

  • @scolopede how often do scorpions molt?

  • I thin k its a death stalker ( I think )

  • Hi everybody, "lightsuit" got it, it's hadogenes troglodytes, an adult female now ...might see babies later.

  • looks like a hadogenes troglodytes ''banded african flat rock scorpion'' i have 2 of them, male and female. i actually have 10 scorpions (8 different species) i also have 1 tarantula and 1 trapdoor spider. if you ever have any questions about either id be glad to answer : )

  • If they are banded, it might be hadogenes paucidens you're talking about. Troglodytes gets a little bigger in general and doesn't have those cream colored bands on top like the "banded flatrock". I have some of those too, a bunch of babies I've been raising. I think they are two years old. They grow slow and live a long time, I may die first!

  • @kungfuxdrummer Hi there I have a scorpion it is just one year old and has moulted twice, However it hasnt moulted from one of it's claws and Im wondering will it shed 2 layers of skin on it's next moult or will that claw be unable to be used anymore? if you could write back asap i'd really appreciate it because I'm quite concerned.. Thanks

  • Im thinking about getting one myself, ive been looking into them and heard that emporer scorpions are best for people that has never had 1 before. I believe thats a emporer also. :P

  • its not a pandinus imperator it is a hadogenes troglodytes
