  • All I've done for the past hour is watch artillery guns firing. These are so cool. I'm thinking of joining after high school.

  • Although I wanted to go armour, apparently my CT went through as a string puller! Im still stocked as hell!

  • Beauty fire-mission guys! ARTY ARTY ARTY!

  • slide show?

  • cool.

  • nice work guys give em hell .

  • What next?. Other countries telling us how to Snipe?.

  • Leaving the rounds on the tray is a quick way to screw up your hydraulics.

  • @goofiegoofball negative ;) unless you mean quick as in maybe causing a problem AFTER the 6 months we didn't have any problems doing that..

  • @otterTaco Maybe its just our rank that's a little bit anal about it then. Good work none the less guys :)

  • hey how big are those rounds?

  • @lemob182

155mm in diameter or about 6 inches. Weigh around 90lbs I think.

  • @lemob182 155mm, 100lb ish

  • whats the guy with the pole doing

  • @duxberry1958

Pushing the shell up the loading tray into the barrel.

  • Looooooooooooooooooooad!

  • It's a shame to party without the arty. nice vid.

  • Well done Boys! don`t care if rounds are on tray ...it saves time and people need round down range ASAP. the only issue i see is the guys ramming the round by himself. its ok for 1 or 2 rounds but after the 3 round he is getting tired and does not ram that round as the 1st and it does affect the fall of shot. should always be 2 guys on the rammer. besides that good job. Because of Afghanistan we now have the respect of the other combat arms..Ubique!!!

  • muthafuckers kickin up dirt

  • Artillery is the backbone of any armed forces. Good job men!

  • @honour123 HAHAHAHA Thats laughable....

  • SICK ROF for a 155

  • @perp33

Is the #1 in this video MBdr Bradely (at the time)?

  • You guys created the "big bang"

  • All these pseudo military remarks are laughable. Dig in the guns properly?? Leave rounds lying around?I'm sure these PROFESSIONAL soldiers know what they're doing. Much more so than some of you guys who read bookso or play CoD.

Hell they even know when to stop firing because the gun is getting to hot to load safely.

  • @BeerHunter125 I'm just pointing out that guns don't over heat like they get hot but not over heat you can fire them all day if you wanted to

  • @MrYeti12 yea, but there is a max rounds per minute you can fire safely before you start to run into problems.

  • @otterTaco What problems? when they stop they usually are done there rounds, and plus we have better steal then they did in world war one and those fired all day and night

  • @MrYeti12 it's not a case of prolong firing. you will have the same problems as you would on a rifle if you fire rounds too fast. it will overheat the barrel.

  • @BeerHunter125 And if you look carefully, you'll see that most of the rounds that are just 'lying around' have no fuses attached, which makes them effectively inert. The gun closest to the camera *is* properly dug in, as evidenced by the piles of dirt located near each of the gun trails. They're not stopping because the guns are getting too hot. A fire mission order always indicates how many rounds are to be fired. When the fire mission is fulfilled, firing stops.

  • This shows so well why _everyone_ has to be on the ball when it comes to operating artillery. One slight mistake and that recoil can break an arm, a leg or cave in a ribcage or a head.

    Some real slick operating there.

  • I hear him, but I don't see him. Who is giving that order to load? I wish I could see the person giving that awesome order that's just barely cutting through the blast of the artillery.

  • A gift to the taliban considering any unexploded shells, like bombs that are dropped from planes, will be made into an ied and cause a direct hit.

    Irony!

  • @Ezzedeen01 the ISAF knows this and now only uses artillery shells that explode something like 99.9% of the time.. in world war 2, over 10% of shells fired did not explode

  • @sfigley1 Prove it!

  • @sfigley1 never mind rounds on the deck, my Grandfather had rounds and rounds stacked up in his Sexton 25ib SP. during WW2 , when moving from one gun position to another. Hows that for safety eh

  • @MrBNaylor lol thats awsome man. im all about speed in combat.but in training, we need to slow that shit down.

  • @sfigley1 You are retarded! Hey! Stop the battle so we can stand the rounds back up and place them in a safer place!!!!! Time out Taliban i have to clean up!!!!

  • Canadian Artillery is the best in the world and doesn't need anyone to giving advice. Go to war, fire the guns and then you can talk. Dummies!

  • Ten more shots and this gun will be back at Kabul! Don't the gunners know how to dig in their piece propperly?.

  • What is the function of the curved pole that is rammed up the barrel after a round is fired.

  • @henerymag The rod is used to push the shell into the chamber

  • ya canadian arty got my moto going

  • 2RCHA?

  • ol mr.Taliban is about to have a very bad day.

  • kill those fucken terrorists

  • Good job canada !

  • Im gonna join the artillery once im out of high school

  • Damn, you guys are fast.

  • SINCE WHEN CANADA IS IN AFGHANISTAN ? :D

  • @leongraaf Get the fuck out here man, I find that disrespectful.

  • @ShadowDeathBl1tz no serious i never heard that canada is in afghanistan lol

  • @leongraaf It's not funny you know. You're the only one laughing.

  • @leongraaf Where in the hell have you been the last 9 years?

  • @leongraaf dude.... really..... you come out of your cave sometimes ??

  • im pretty sure id be tired as hell after like 3 rounds lol

  • Хотя здесь восемь раздолбаев, но как говорится, двое пашут, а семеро руками машут! Война бессмысленна и нужна только зомбам! :)

  • Куда стреляют? По борцам с наркотой?

  • Man I miss that!

  • @45plop1 ahah whatever mcdonalds fat fuck

  • This video makes me proud to be Canadian! Give it to em' boys!

  • It would suck if one bomb hit all those rounds

  • jesus are you guys given any hearing protection? that fuckers gotta be load when she goes off!

  • What's that going to do to their hearing :(

  • How do Artillery guns work? How do they lock on target? Or do they just provide indirect fire?

  • @25Milimeter It's indirect fire. We have guys watching the round impact and they radio back corrections to get us on target. Don't let the word indirect fool you, artillery can be deadly accurate.

  • im guessing this was just training while deployed in the stan. or where they accually raining some hell on some poor bastards. any CF members know? Awsome vid though. the sounds of arty gives me a chubb. just pray its the sound of it going out not coming in.

  • im guessing this was just training while deployed in the stan. or where they accually raining some hell on some poor bastards. any CF members know?

  • That's beautiful.

  • not to take anything away from these guys....my dad was in the artillery during WW2 and was seriously wounded . he never talked about it, but after reading blackburns book "guns of normandy" i found out the dangers of being a FOO. a book well worth reading.

  • MrJJackYT is Back His new name is HRMacQuacken

  • WOOT Go canada! I think the m777 is american designed.

  • @AurumenK Its British. But Canadians have created some of their own vehicles that Americans use, such as the LAV-III & LAV-25 APC's,that is where the Stryker design came from.

  • @25Milimeter The LAVIII and LAV-25 vehicles are not of Canadian design. The hull of both vehicles is based on the Swiss MOWAG Piranha 6 x 6 design, and the GM Delco turret was originally designed by Arrowpointe Corporation in Detroit, Michigan. The LAVIII hull was manufactured under licence from MOWAG, but I suspect at one point that GDLS bought the rights to the design. The Stryker APC is simply a modified LAVIII without the turret.

  • @SuperTekZone There are so many modifications to the LAV111 and stryker to say it is not a Canadian design is like saying the Ford Taurus is a Volvo S70 and the Ford Fusion is a Masda6 because both cars were based entirely on the foreign design platforms. The Germans highlight the major Canadian modifications to our leopard tanks as being of a specific design and they send us the appropriate package so that those modifications can be made

  • What kind of shells are you guys firing?

    Canadian Forces ftw.

    :D

  • I was a gunner in D bty as a foo tech...awesome vid

  • hey americans, watch and learn!

  • whats that one guy yelling after each shot?

  • @billybobjoejr10 He's yelling "Load". It is technically a mandatory order, according to Canadian Artillery "language", fire discipline.

  • GO BOYS GO!

  • 35 fox rock tha shit. Brings back memories

  • got a question: is counter battery fire a real danger in Afghanistan? having shells and charge lined up in the open poses a hazard.

  • @rubberduckytank No not at all,. unless one considers A soviet era rocket propped up with a rock as an aiming device an effective form of artillery.

  • @perp33 good to know our troops are playing it safe! :)

  • @perp33 Not gonna lie...it always made me worry when I was overseas lol. Ammo F***ing everywhere....just got lucky

  • @XtremeEuph Ya when I thought about the consequenses of a direct hit it gave me the chills a bit. It could have got messy.

  • @perp33

does the coloration of the shells mean anything? i read in a book that the tip color is what distinguishes the shell type, but what about the casing?

  • @XtremeEuph At least you would die fast and not slow.

  • @XtremeEuph What were the odds of getting hit directly?

  • @XtremeEuph what were the odds of a direct hit ?

  • @perp33

these GUYS ARE SURE THAT WHAT EVER THE HELL THEY ARE FIRING AT IS NOT ABLE TO RETURN ANY KIND OF FIRE.

maybe a soviet era rocket isn't an effective type of artillery but sure as hell a mortar round can land on these shells and blow em up.

  • @rubberduckytank It does not pose a hazard at all. The rounds will not go off and as long as there is no fire around the charges will not go off either.

One never knows when a fire mission will be called, so it is best to be ready.

  • @rubberduckytank they plan to use all that ammunition and the shells they dont use they put back in the place where they store all the unused shells

  • Must be very loud hanging out wit those guys

  • Go the Maple Leaf !!!!

  • holy shit does guns are massive!!!!

  • Yeah the Americans have just such a large pool to pick from, their total pop is 10x ours, naturally we'd have a smaller military.

  • Are these only dummy rounds being fired? Or live ammunition?

  • @NigelGriff This is high explisive ammo in the theater of operation Afghanistan. The guns are M777 Howitzers.

  • c'est tu des gars du 5RALC ???

  • @nnufanfran77 J'pense pas, les ordres ont l'air d'être donnés en anglais...Anyways, ca rentre en criss...Surtout quand t'es dans marde à l'autre boutte!! Je me souviens!

  • @sweiland75 yes we wear earplugs,.sometimes in the heat of a mission while listening for orders they get dis-lodged so the fingers on the ear is kind of a habit

  • Although I don't like the war...Keep fighting strong Canadian Brothers!

  • go get em boys! thanks for keeping our asses safe

  • m777 155mm towed howitzer, the finest light piece in the world-

in use by the canadians and US army.

  • @str8up87 Yeah, it's an awesome piece equipment. I don't know if Canada has received them yet, but we were supposed to be getting 25 more units, bring our total up to 37. lol Nothing compared to the States 500+ units.

  • HOW do these people cope with the loudass fire sounds?

  • could watch this all day...

  • nice vid

  • That looks like a hell lot of work to fire that thing if you need 8 men.

  • @SwissLeo1

With one guy fulfilling each role, they can fire quicker. Would be critical in combat.

  • This is what I want to do... Artillery field, I'm 18 and currently in high school. I will fight for this country, and when in your life do you get to do something like this. This is just AWESOME... Plus we've (US canadians) got Long range aritllery. I"m just checking this out, Im in the army for sure when im out of high school :)

  • @challywang Right on,. do it while your young buddy. Moosehead drinker guy thinks it doesn't require brainpower,. what he doesn't know is every guy gets trained at every position on the gun and as far as combat arms trades are concerned artillery is the most technically advanced and welcomes soldiers with intelligence within the ranks.

  • @perp33 anyone can fire of these guns after a short lesson. people in the military aren't that smart therefore everything has to be simple. simple also = practical

  • @perp33 @perp33 anyone can fire of these guns after a short lesson. people in the military aren't that smart therefore everything has to be simple. simple also = practical

  • @perp33 yea army is alright im in artillery as well but ground artillery is almost obsolite mobile artillery will be the future of combat M109 are such a beast to bad they break so easy

  • @challywang me to man

  • @challywang you're young, but you will soon realise that being a soldier is being a tool of the imperialists not a humanitarian or freedom fighter like the media portrays the army to be. stay safe.

  • @challywang - Field artillery is a back breaking profession but satisfying, especially if you wanted to join to fight for your country. And you also say "HUH" a lot when someone talk to you ..... =)

  • do you do anything about the howitzer moving back?

  • Looks like a boring job! everyone has a minor role (ie one guy hands bomb over, other puts it in, other sticks pole in etc.). They look like ants.

shit, show me something more interesting or at least something that requires brain power.

  • dude that hands the bombs to the guy who loads them into the gun doesn't cover his ears!

is he wearing some kind of hearing protection?

  • Man, those guns are loud...

  • Fucking rights Canada , keep up the good work

Im going reg force artillery aswell just waiting on some paperwork CANT WAIT !

  • M777= insant crater maker. Oh and anyone who is wondering, the range is 40 km

  • Does Canada have excalibur rounds?

  • @ShadowHnt3r Yup. The Americans and us Canadians are the only two nations to use them I think.

  • @perp33 are both artillary teams Canadian? and why is the 2nd team farther back

  • @ShadowHnt3r Yes they are both Canadian. The reason the 2nd team is farther back is basic artillery tactics. All guns in the battery are alined in a staggered formation (one forward, one back, one forward and so on) so that if the gunline is attacked by air only one or two guns are taken out and not the whole battery which would happen if all the guns were lined up in a straight line...the explosive round would come straight accross and take all the guns out.

  • @sicksonethree ah ok, thanks!

  • we are a full round quicker,. if you listen closely we fire our last round the same time they fire their 8th. mmmmhmmm fox owns echo :)

  • @perp33 King of Battle! not sure if you Canadians refer to artillery as that, but we do in the US...my favorite words to hear while in the army were "fire for effect"

  • I love this video, I cant stop watching it, I think i've watched it about 50 times at least so far!

  • do they shoot faster than the other team in the background????

  • @mkIIrtv05 I think there about even!

  • What the fuck they shooting at ?

  • @smashingchap targets 12 klms away

  • @smashingchap wtf do you think.

  • dont mess :3

  • Hells yeah! Don't fuck with Fox.

    I miss that det.

  • Haha is that gnr Richards ???

  • Absolutely fascinating to watch! Awesome stuff!

  • What they shooting at ?

  • @smashingchap obviously if there shooting rounds like that, there giving artillary support to a unit somewheres

  • why not this gun can use auto load bullet

  • ive seen some artillery fire vids and these guys are the fastest guys ive seen. well done!!

  • bastards fight for jews aim,,,

  • I wasn't counting how many rounds they fired, but that's one hell of a fire mission.

  • that must be one hell of a work out eh?

  • Canadian Arty... Best damn Arty in the world!!

  • @Bundashit Rofl, thats an M777 Howitzer ... American made artillery.. XD Such blind patriotism you have.

  • @Wulvenn The gun is only as good as those that operate it. BTW, the M777 Howitzer is British, not American. Although, some pieces were manufactured in the States. And you say my patriotism is blind? Don't you feel stupid now?

  • @Wulvenn

It's not the weapon that matters - it's the soldier using it.

  • well done

  • smashingchap** canadians avoid any conflict in afghanistan? are u stupid? the canadians are in the area with the most risk and action.

  • smashingchap: get informed or risk offending every canadian or anyone who has served with us. Canadians have taken disproportionately high loses in Afghanistan for the exact reason that we are not afraid to fight. And they are shooting at the bad guys. Thank God the guns.

  • @primemack Um Btw that is his intention He hates anything and everything Canadian...

you should see the comments where he says the only thing Canadian Soldiers are good for is dieing. Very Disturbing.

  • @SirFact if ur talking about Mrjjack he got baned finaly

  • Those are members of an Artillery battery, those guns can shoot up to 40km away, I would hope to god that you can not see what they are shooting at! And no Canadians do not avoid combat while deployed

  • I have heard one Warrent say he witnessed an Excalibur round fired from an M777 hit accurately at 60km form the target. Gotta love GPS.

  • Yeah, no action in KANDAHAR!?! Ignorant...

  • that is one smooth running artillary team there

  • That is one slick detachment, damn f---ing good.

  • m777 is a uk made howitzer Ultra Light-Weight Fld How, sold to America and re-designated M777, made by the same company that gave the world AS90,

  • 9-mile snipers. ;)

  • this just shows all you talibans how much military power the US,UK and Canada has. but special thanks to the brits for being the patriarch of these military based countries. But why in the hell do they all use the american 155 howitzer?

  • Salute to you boys from 10 BTY - 56 FD RCA

  • As an Artillery crew member, do you sometimes need/get to fight with mgs, rockets ( javelin etc.) as well?

  • GOD DAMN I would not want to be on the other end of those rounds

  • no kidding you would get raped

  • thats why i didnt recognise the area. were you 3-08??

  • yes 3-08

  • right on fellas, you in spur or wilson

  • actually we were in fob ramrod during this video. one troop got allocated to the Americans during this roto

  • That be some nice work fellas

    <
