Hi,Congrats you play casio keyboards quite well.I want to make you a question. I have a casio ct 615 and a few months ago it gone crazy. I mean : if I press a button It does a different action,if I restart it.it turns on with a different patch than number one.And things like that. Do you thing it can be repaired.
@MsTHEBOX - It's not easy to tell. But I once bought a Kawai that did something similar. It was unfortunately not possible to repair that because it was a problem in the synthesizer chip itself. But if you are lucky it could something really simple like a bad soldering - if a pin is floating on a microchip then anything can theoretically happen.
Hi Im from Mexico ,I dont think casio keyboards r toys.I had a ct 700 with realistic piano sound in the early 90s it was quite good, but it was stolen,i have a cz 1000,and i just bought a ctk 5000,with realistic piano ,organ an distorted guitars, the piano sounds by itself beats any korg m1 or x5 acoustic piano,if you compare the ctk 5000 pianos and the Korgs m1 piano, the korgs sounds more like a toy than the casios
cool i have a SA-39 if u ever take your CT-380 apart for cleaning or something can u plz make a vid bcus i have a wire on my CT-370 and idk if it was made that way or if it was rigged up to bypass something b4 i got it
Nice collection you have there dude. I'm also building a collection of Casio and Yamaha toy keyboards and I have some of those models myself. A Casio Rapman would be nice, but they aren't easy to find these days!
What's the model number of the large Casio Tonebank you are playing (2nd keyboard to appear in the video)?
@mantara32 - Yes that is the CT-380. The tones on that one is quite smooth and noise free. The SA-35 is smaller and the sound is somewhat more harsch. It is probably designed that way on purpose because smooth sounds cannot be heard very well on small speakers.
As always, your videos deliver the best. And also, very good video editing. Casio actually used to make very good keyboards. I used to have HT-6000 and then VZ-1. The HT-6000 had a potential to be a pro instrument, if they only removed the speakers and autorythms from it. The VZ-1 was truly pro, with aftertouch and all. I regret now I sold those instruments. I always wanted to have a Roland or Yamaha instead of a casio, and now I do, but I still miss the good old Casio keyboards
Its really nice to see somebody actually making music with toy keyboards, instead of screwing around with their circuitry just to get them to make really crappy sounds.
Thanks. Sometimes old analogue equipment can be improved by changing components or adding extra switches, potentiometers, or circuitry. But I generally find it hard to make digital keyboards sound better by modifying them. But 15 years ago (when all I had was toy instruments) I modified the sound - with succes - by sending it through echo machines, equalizers, phasers, and whatever I could get cheap or build myself.
@tongue17 - If playing the instruments like they were intended to be played is gay. And if I am supposed to circuit bend my keyboards into machines that can only do incomprihensible noises to be considered straight. Then I will be very proud to consider myself gay!
@DarkZekeX you're a dumbass. this music is gay. give me these toys so i can make something way more expressive with their circuits... how can you think this is good?
they only sound like toys when you use them for completely played-out conventional music...remember, if you're using old things there's no need to be practical.
Hi. I have one CT-390 and it´s sounds almost like your CT-380. By other hand is impressive how you use these equipment on these days (And how good it´s sounds)
Also I watched your videos, you have some interest things like one CR-78, one JP... Keep making music with this gear for all, dude.
That's a CASIO SA-35 and it is actually a quite good model. The design is a little different from the other CASIOs because you first choose a basic sound and then you have a number of variations to choose from so the total number of sounds is actually quite big - although of course some of the variations are useless or just plain stupid...
Me too. Once my music system was made out of three Casios, a Bontempi, and a Kawai. But that was before I could afford "real" instrumens. I have kept them all though and I still find them fun to play.

Is that the CT-380? And are the tones on that one as noisy as the SA-35 tones or do they sound clean on the CT models? Cheers!

@tongue17 I will agree with you that his music has a very upbeat happy sound that one might describe as a gay mood :)

Very nice tune. Amazing video editing. And thank god that you've used Line/Headphone out instead of Camera-Mic.
Casio should pay you.

Thanks. You know, even now where I have several professional instruments I still have a soft spot for the small toy keyboards.

This is quite good. You must have listened to the original by the one and only Tina Charles. I'm a huge fan of hers.

Yes, it took a few times of listening. And then there was the matter of finding out how to adapt it for the small toy keyboards.
