This movie is so great on so many levels. I purchased a formally leased car a few years back. When the salesman at the Honda dealership brought up the necessity of having Tru-Coat put on I immediately remembered this scene.
What's hilarious is this is EXACTLY what car dealers do,, it's all BS.. this business about going to 'talk to the manager' is a pile of crap.
The last time i bought a new car, the guy says "I think we've got a deal,, i'll just go talk to my manager."" So i said,, If you go talk to your manager, you'll never sell me this car." He was stumped.. So i said,, "your a professianl car salesman,, If you can't close this deal now, i'll go across the street and buy a Pontiac. " I got the car.
@phxsns1 I think it was the Director's Way of "Differentiating" Jerry from the others. God, was that Customer Furious! I can't say that I blame them. You always have to be careful with these Car Folks.
