  • im just looking for something to take when im out of town and cant use dead weights is all would you think of this as a good investment

  • @slatanicslaughter Not everyone who trains the olympic lifts takes steroids. I did not claim that people don't cross-train, you're being presumptuous about your interpretation of what I was saying.

I recognize the value of eccentric training, and I don't mean that olympic lifters never use it (they do). Just that there are those who focus a lot of concentric movements and still get progress.

Christian Thib has some stuff on that on T-nation. Not sure if it's true since he's kinda dumb though.

  • @slatanicslaughter Hypertrophy can be produced without eccentric contractions, so your argument is moot. Tell this to the olympic weightlifters.

  • Anyone who does the bodylastics live exercise programs can tesity to the fact that Steve knows what's he's doing. His cardio classes kick your ass six ways to saturday when you do them right

  • sorry, that was an inside joke...we tease Steve about saying that

  • burnin' deep. hahhahahaaaa

  • First off, yes these will make you ripped, but its just like free weights in the sense that you need a HEALTHY diet of fruits veggies,Carbs protiens etc or you wont get ripped. Bodylastics are better than freeweights. No joint pain,No risk of injury (the bands wont snap) you cant gain momentum (train your fast twitch muscle fibers that give you explosiveness) so you need to stop looking for excuses and stick with a program, eat right, and see amazing results. Look at T.O he uses these over FW's

  • Reading all the back and forth about whether or not you can gain mass using these is quite amusing to me. I haven't seen a single person mention that in order to gain mass/build muscle, you will need to eat a healthy diet that has has sufficient calories to do so. Do you think your body really knows the difference between a dumbell and an elastic?

  • @shlammed 2 thumbs up comment.

  • @shlammed smartest comment i have ever read when it comes to these arguments

  • @shlammed exactly. haha. As if the body will say "No i will not allow all the straining to make you stronger becasue you're using bands. And bands are lame."

  • @shlammed Actually yes, our brain can tell the difference because they feel rather different.

  • I ve been using bodylastics for a while. My problem is they keep ripping on me. Definitely not for mass building since it's missing eccentric phase of resistance.but good for toning and cutting up

  • I just received my TO Strong Man Edition Bodylastics this morning... I love them

  • These bands are great.... no problems... will rip you up.. .won't put mass on you, but will fine tone what u have, and tone up.... great stuff...

  • @6ft2220beast, why do you say they wont put mass on you, Im getting the Strong Man Edition with 254 Lbs in the set, Im sure doing 60lbs curls as a example, will put some mass on you.

  • I think they can, but my boy TO's body is mostly from weights, power cleans, squats, etc.... i bet u can get some, but these are great for cuttin up, toning, and core work...

  • @6ft2220beast, Im pretty sure you can put mass on, if you doing something like 60lbs curls etc.. the more resistance the more your musle will adapt and grow.

  • u can get some size yes, but there are some exercises that just cant be ignored when lookin for mass (bench, military press, pull ups, deadlifts, etc...) i love my bands and have improved my core strength and definition, dropping from 220lbs down to 208 body fat round 11% now

  • @6ft2220beast, sure you can do bench press, And im lookng to put some mass on, not become a freak..

  • @6ft2220beast Why won't the bands put mass on you?

  • i think like intensegreek said, it depends on what you consider "mass"... if you wanna look like a freak, this ain't gonna do it.... these will help you get stronger, but i guess every person is different. i started using them beause of tendonitis in my elbows, also using them for lunges, shoulder raises, etc... i guess it depends on how you diet, how much cardio you do, and genetics... they are really good to use in conjunction with free weights and machines.... some days i do all bands

  • other days, i do Hammer Strength/Free Weights... these are great for pre-exhaustion (example do front shoulder raises to warm up muscle without using major muscle groups, then do 4 sets of shoulder press) or u can superset band curls/push ups .... all kinda stuff, but I LUV THESE THINGS, not just cuz TO is my favorite athlete either... great investment!

  • I have been using bodylastics for over year and they are just great. Nothing has broken yet or no rips. Prove great tension workout and better than buying dumb bells.

  • my only concern is they are kinda pricey however i just wanna know if they could be ripped or something if we pull them too far, ie how far should we pull them or whats the deal?

  • to answer your question about the price look at it this way. the most expensive set is about 100 dollars, and I beleve the max weight for one arm is about 127 lbs or something. the amount of money to buy seperate sets of dumbells would be much higher not to mention stuff like benches and stuff too. and with a gym membership a years time would also be much more money than these. as for breaking mine have never broken and you can buy replacement parts on their webcite.

  • I just bought the $104 set and love it. These aren't pricet at all when you consider the cost of going to a gym or buying a Bowflex, etc. One of the BEST purchases I have EVER made.

  • SOLD!

Ordering mine after I've shut down Youtube..

  • bodylastics terrell owens super strongman edition 99usd 254lbs of resistance

  • Is that what hes susing cuz i did not see orange bands

  • im not sure im just saying thats wut u get for 100 bucks

  • It appears he is using the Max Tension version without the yellow band. This version sells for $60. I think that configuration is rated at about 62lbs of resistance from the web site information.

  • i dont understand why aint these things mainstream and populer?

  • the reason these things aren't mainstream is because most exercise enthusiasts don't want to admit that you can actually get as good or better workout without useing free weights. I use resistance bands and bodyweight exercises only and don't want to brag but I am in pretty good shape

  • Hey, Can you post videos of you?

  • i would if i could man but at the moment i don't own a video camera. jast month on a vacation my brother was fucking around with mine and droped it off the hotel balcany. And being on minimum wage and having to pay rent and for gas and shit i can't really spare the money to get a new one if you need tips i'll be glad to give you some.

  • Its cool, I believe you. I own these and they feel like they work, I will begin to use them daily tomorrow. But i want to condition my body & train myself for karate or martial arts. I'll pm you the rest..

  • how did the resistance bands work out man? I noticed you wrote this comment about 2 months ago, and was curious about the results. Thanks man.

  • Yea ill tell you thers about a million ways you could work with these things, they get you ripped.
