I'm in an 8th grade band, and one of the two top alto saxophones in the middle school. We actually had a concert today, and another band (not the best band, that's mine) played this and it sounded awesome. I've been playing four 4 years now, and I'm awesome. I sincerely hope that they are beginners, otherwise it's quite a letdown.

well im in a middle school marching band, we have concert season, so we have this sheet of music, i got bored and found this video. i watched it and im not impressed.... i can play louder than the trumpets in this video if i was there. if the were playing the c's right and put a small fade into the notes it would have better sound.

its sounds like beginners, but its still good. for beginners. I play the trumpet, their notes sound kind of low for this song. Everything is overpowering the flutes. The flutes have to be louder. I didn't even know there ws bell in there.

trumpets need to pop out more they have the main part and they sound like background noise as well. They also sound way off. I am a trumpet player to and in band. My tips for the band is to let every one be blow the trumpets and the bells.

Since I'm in my schools 8th grade band (Very advanced band) we played this song and we sound a lot better than this band. Why? We tunned, we had good posture, we were taping our feet to keep time. This band I'm sorry but the trumpets were WAY out of tune!!!! The flutes were trying to over power the band. And I'm a 3 year flute played and I know better.

lol its cus once u get to high school most people dont care as much..

6th grade = care a lot, even when learning to play whole notes

7th grade = sorta care when ur playin longer stuff like this

8th grade = dont care unless ur playin during ur graduation

9th grade = automatic 95 if u join band?? xDDD

I think this actually came together quite well but that weird noise all those instrument makes makes me feel like they are the wrong note but its not its just cause since i'm used to using String Instruments that i normally am used to hearing a Clear Note with only 1 sound. But in Woodwinds and Brass the noise you make depends on the amount of force you use when blowing into the instrument and is hard to learn how to stop it. It usually takes about 4-8 years. Anyways nice job.

You played the slower more traditional version I see. Still very well-done, but I prefer the version we play has the kind of feel to it that portrays anguish and power at the beginning with the forte dynamic. Then goes to a lower Metzo Piano. This is more a calfly done piece. Very well done.

I'm a high school band and our arrangement begins with the trumpets, and carries to the tuba and then the rest of the melody then harmony comes in. This is the only Christmas carol i love. it's an amazing song if played right.

For an 8th grade band there guys did okay compared to what our band did. We were horrible haha.

And you have to consider the difference between high school bands and middle school bands. There is a HUGE difference in work ethic and you become much better.

It may be that the camera was bad or something, but the tone of this was very off. Trumpets are WAY off. They have the harmony at 1:14 and they are playing much to loudly. Balance was off as well... Sorry, but I didn't really like it.

At measure 13 where the brass and the 3rds come in it needs way more balance.

Measure 29 was good though. You can really hear the first trumpets.
