@ckk1106 You probally won't have to trim pistol cases to length unless your shooting high preasure magnums with hot loads. You may get some case stretch during the resizing operation. I use carbide dies and just a verry light spray of Hornady case lube on my pistol cartidges and have not had any length issues with multiple reloadings.
I purchased one of these guages, and had a much different result from yours; my finished ammo, almost half of it did not pass. i went back , and re- seated, and re- measured the bullet depths, and some more of them passed, but there was a significant amount of failures. I have been loading range brass, and I had purchased some once fired brass at a local gun show, I then checked the empty once fired brass after de- capping, and sizing, does this once fired brass normally fail?
@N1834J Try a little less flare on the case, if you over flare it will cause it to do that. I also started using a lee factory crimp die, it has a carbide post sizing ring in it that can correct mess ups or a case buldge. I found that after using that I havent had one problem with anything failing to feed. Plus I like to crimp in a seperate stage anyways.
Hi Hickok45, Do you get case bulge with your 9mm. I get it with my 40 S&W and it will not fit in my go/no-go gage, after being resized. Are you using a different barrel, or don't you have the same bulge issue with the 9mm. Thanks Much, Kirk
@tazo300 Maybe you should try to check out the Lee Bulge Buster kit, attaches to the lee factory crimp die. I reload .40 for a p226 so I do not have the bulge problem but have heard that the product works well. Good luck
A good video. I actually don't use a go / no go gauge, but instead use the Lee Factory Crimp die as the last operation. In addition to crimping the case mouth, it includes a carbide sizing ring which 'post sizes' the case and knocks back into spec any fat or bulged case that would hangup in the chamber. I've had good results in my Glock doing this and it means I can crimp and check uniformity in the one operation. For those without this die though, what you''re doing is the way to go.
Great tip. Was wondering if there was a way to check completed ammo. Thanks for going the extra mile on reloading. Helped alot. I know I am going to start reloading now other sites made it seem more complicated and a lot more costly.
Hey is seen a rifel but with a big revolver pistol style thing on it any clue what this rifel is? its loaded and shot like a pistol but its a big rifel but stock and all
great tip. i have only been reloading for a year now and i did not know about those. thanks for the tip. i use my barrel but i don't like doing that so this would give me better alternative. 5*****s
why would anyone dislike a video like this?

Do you ever have to trim pistol brass? I know after a few firings I have to trim my rifle cases, but I've never reloaded for pistol.

Where would I purchase one of those??? Are they under a different name?

I find that its the same if you use the barrel of you gun for this process. Just removed it from the firearm and size check away!

Only 4 stars because there was no shooting :) lol
By the way I use the same gauge for my reloading . And I agree with him . If you reload go get one and use it . They are great. !!!!!!

@tazo300 Run you cases thru a case debulge die by lee. They cost less than $20 and remove the bulge near the case head.

i'm glad i only reload for revolvers now...case length isn't that important in a revolver pumping out 500mags.

Good tips! I have seen guys go too deep on the crimp die, then it causes a slight bulge in the case, which causes all kinds of malfunctions.

How do you check length? To be sure the bullet isn't seated too far in or not far enough?
