The teen pregnancy rate is actually at it's lowest within the last 50 years. Want the rate to be even lower? Stress birth control, not abstinence. 50 years ago, no teens had access to birth control and that's why so many of them got pregnant before 18 and were either sent to homes for unwed mothers or were married off.
I was a teen mom now 20 y.o with 2 kids on my own teen mom wasnt on but things happen and teens dont think about how it will change your life till boom your pregnant now how do i finish school then what do i do for a job oh and who can watch the kids while i work i think they need a show truly showing how hard it is with money problems and just trying to raise the kids its hard enough but if they showed something more realistic maybe that would help maybe.... and do more in the schools

I really don't think these shows have anything to do with it. We have those shows here too and the teen pregnancy rate is still only 0.9 per 1000 girls. They should call the show what it is, 16 and Knocked Up. This show is such a bad influence that my old high school during the 2008-2009 school year made the cheerleaders take pregnancy tests along with their drug tests after some Facebook postings suggested that their was a pregnancy pact among the cheerleaders that referenced the show. This came after the school board decided to stop handing out condoms to high school students.

An idolization? I definitely feel grateful that I'm not a pregnant or have kids. After seeing what those women have to go through on "Teen Mom" it has absolutely opened my eyes on the real struggles women like that have to go through.

If you watch the show, it is VERY REAL AND RAW, shows how HARD it is to be a teen mom.
It doesn't glamorize being a teen mom.
But again, Russia Today is always hating on America in some way cuz it's a Russian news channel.
How about worrying about Russian prostitutes and mail order brides? Russian women are like the #1 prostitutes in the world.
