  • Geoff is my uncle :)

  • geoff nicholls is my great uncle he is going to write a song about me

  • heyy geoff nicholls is my great uncle and for proof my nan is nicholls my mom is nicholls and my

    grandad is nicholls

  • If you want to hear Tony Martin before he was in Sabbath look this up

    ...........BLACK SABBATH-TONY MARTIN-WE ARE STRANGERS.

  • Another guy great in a live situation is Paul Rodgers. I saw him a few years ago and every note was dead on and he didn't act stupid....just calm and in total control.

  • TONY U RULE!!

  • As a trained professioanl singer, I'd like to offer some words in this debate. I have NEVER seen a Tony Martin video where he did anything close to what he did on an album, especially an album like Headless Cross or Eternal Idol. And the whole "sick on tour" thing is a joke. Real vocalists know how to sing through a cold and hit all the high and low notes; I've done it live many times in the past. Tony is a studio vocalist, and a good one, but he can't hack it in a performance. Sorry.

  • yeah you can sing through a cold, but not through an infection. Have you ever tried that? cause i certanly did. Tony Martin is indeed a way better studio vocalist then a live performer but i think that people should stop saying he's a fake, even now with the giuntini project and his solo albums he did such a great job.

  • Maybe Verboten88 should audition and take over. I don't care who you are....a bad enough cold can get you down...some bands actually cancel shows if the singer has a really bad one. Maybe he should inform the recording industry of his great abilities so they can put him at the helm of a great metal band.

  • I already do sing for a heavy metal band, so good comeback. You have zero evidence to back up your claims, bro. I never said that bands didn't cancel shows because of singers having colds. What I said was: REAL VOCALISTS KNOW HOW TO SING THROUGH A COLD. And I've had "throat infections" like strep before, and there's no way anyone who actually had one could do anything besides whisper, much less get out of bed. But what do I know, apparently youtube comment sections are policed by doctors!

  • what metal band are you in? verboten88

up some vids i want to see you sing

  • what's your problem? you've done this on a few of his videos now. Is it that he's had far more success and has made much more of a name for himself than you have? is that it? you've obviously never seen the Cross Purposes live DVD, in which he still manages to belt out some of those Sabbath classics, even with a fucking throat infection!!! dude, until you tour as the lead singer of the band that fucking INVENTED metal, I'd keep my highly unvalued opinion on how Tony Martin sucks to myself.

  • You don't even know who I am, so how can you say that Tony Martin's had more success than I have? Furthermore, I'll give my "unvalued" opinion wherever I fucking want to, faggot. That's all these comments are for anyways. And finally, Black Sabbath didn't invent metal, try again dipshit.

  • First of all, if you actually DID have more success than Tony Martin, you'd feel secure enough about yourself to not go and bitch about sick, over-worked musicians, on YouTube of all places. and sure, you can give your opinion, but just tell us once and move on for fuck sake (did he bully you at school or something?). And FINALLY, if you're so fucking smart, who did invent metal then? wait, why am I asking you? you'll probably just go and say that it was YOU who invented metal!!! SABBATH!!!

  • Hey everybody...Verboten88 says in one post "the whole sick on tour thing is a joke" and then in another reponse to me he says " I never said bnnds didn't cancel shows because of colds"....so I guess all of those bands that have ever done so to him don't have "real singers."

  • I have been telling everyone. Brad Delp may have just been one of the greatest rock vocalist ever, if only because as hard as was Boston's stuff to pull vocally, he did that day in and day out in concert. A legend, may he rest in peace.

  • Damn time passes by... I miss those guys so much

  • Tony might have only been able to hit those notes every once in a while while straining himself in the studio, but never on a steady basis

  • Bull!!! What if it should turn out that Steve Vai couldn´t play live half the stuff he does in the studio???

I think if you choose to be a professional musician, you should have to offer something that´s for real: your talent and your honesty. The audience isn´t sitting there (paying money) to get cheated. Toni is technically spoken not half the singer he believes us to be by his studio work. That´s simply not being honest!

Nothing to do with my personal view, just facts!

  • Come on guys...Toni is a big cheat. Compare his studio vocal lines to the ones he does live.....he´s never able to come anywhere the high notes!!! And that´s not just because his voice is loosing it while growing older. Ever seen the Sabbath Video/DVD "Cross purposes Live"? Listened good to all the live clips here on Youtube?

He´s a great singer with the help of modern studio techniques!!!

  • okay he can't reach the high notes! but a lot of singers use studio techniques to make their voice sound higher! even bruce dickinson did! just listen to the scream in "the number of the beast"! he had never reached the same note in live situations! but that doesn't make him a worse singer, does it? tony martin still is a great singer and not just a big cheat, just because he can't reach the very high notes!

  • You talk about one note (scream) of Bruce Dickinson, I´m talking about many notes in almost every song!!!!

Bruce never disappointed me live...Toni does over and over again!

  • then it has something to do with your personal opinion of him but you can't say that he's a bad singer just because you're disappointed!

he doesn't reach these high note but he's still a great singer!

  • Tony was sick as a dog during the Cross Purposes tour, that's why he sounds like sh*t in that particular video. I've seen videos from the Headless Cross and TYR tours and not only did he sound amazing he also did the high notes.

  • Is there any Guitar there?? you can't play a sabbath song without it.

  • Cheers for uploading.

    really underated

  • The backup singer is the good ole' Sabbath keyboardist

    Geoff Nicholls :)

  • who is another singer?

    ear so good.-

  • come on guys, it's not his fault that he lost his hair!!

as long as he sings like a god!!

  • There are good and there are bad GODS... sorry but sounds like a bad COVERBAND plays and SINGS that song!!

  • okay, but the point is: tonz martin sings better than 95% of most vocalists who exist!!!!!!!

  • is don airey in keyboards too?

  • the other guy is pretty good too!

  • Hairloss...if it's good enough for Rob Halford

  • I wish Tony Martin & Dario Mollo would tour as THE CAGE..

  • my god, what happened to him? Get some hair, Tony!

  • Great! The best singer from Sabbath.

  • Which is Martin, the guy suffering in leukemia?

  • Hi simply lost his hair since years...He still looks great.
