The turning's the same principle however it's more like riding with skyhooks, if you imagine a longboard with snowboard bindings and the trucks at either end much alike a speedboard then you're there. The easiest way to find out is to go ride one.

what i think your talking about are dirtsufers (2 wheelers) and to be honest i think there better on downhill. but at a skatepark or downtown or over jumps and grinding, mountainboards have the stability advandage.

Hi there, I think you mean 5 foot 9, laughing, otherwise you'd be a dwarf. It depends what you want, the shorter boards are easier to turn and do tricks and the longer boards are better for speed, but there are only inches in the difference ....

Yes, the whole sport is downhill and you'll need momentum for flat. I started longboarding, then when I got good Speedboarding (35MPH ,highest was around 45MPH), and then I do Slalom now, get used to speed first, then go mountainboarding. I'm saving up for one ($549.99). Does anyone know if Ground Industries are good, or if the GI Flight 93 is good.
