The surface will hold up well over time with proper care. However...The Vari-Break's putting surface is unlike any other mat. It's designed to act like a real actual putting green (STIMP readings are actual) and needs to be treated with some level of care. The mat should be rolled and not folded, and not left out in a high traffic area--it includes a convenient storage bag. And the substrate's construction will not let it unravel like a sweater, or cheaper mat.
I enjoy the SKLZ line of training aids, but I have some questions about this mat. The key to this product is how well the material withstands wringling and in general getting all unsmooth. I've gone through a few different putting mats that I had to fold that I essentially ruined when I stored them. Can this thing be folded without making a permanent crease?
