As far as your opinions go about Sarah Palin being a "political hack", etc, and that she exploits the troops, it just doesn't seem to fit either. You can call her an idiot, shameless, etc...you're welcome to do that. It's a free country. That's fine. But exploiting the troops?? Really?? You can't REALLY think that. She campaigned with a war hero. You may NOT like McCain, but he is a real war hero. Palin also has a son serving in the military -as do the Biden's & the McCain's.

Why is this being analyzed so much? It's a simple story- Letterman makes a sexual joke about SP daughter and like any good mom, Sarah Palin defends her like a Mama Polar Bear. And even if it was directed at the older daughter, it was still a very bad joke.

"special treatment"?The REAL special treatment is that this joke -about a 14 year old and A-rod- was told to bgin with. It's "special treatment" because no other public official has had a minor kid joked about that way; Biden's children weren't joked about. McCain's kids weren't joked about (the underage ones), the Bush twins weren't, etc. Doesn't matter that Letterman's "arrow" was aimed at Bristol (bad enough!), it hit a 14 yr old girl who now has to live this down.

Actually Chelsea was joked about and PLENTY of racist and rude things have been said about Obama and his wife from GOVT OFFICIALS AND AFFILIATES...not comedians..which is worse because they arent there to joke around about race. If you know about and have PROOF of any racist comments coming out of government officials' mouths and affiliates...can I encourage you to go to the GOP headquarters (in the case of a GOP person) or to the. Democratic headquarters (in the case of a Dem) and let them know.

I don't know if you're trying to suggest Palin promoted racism. IF so, Michael Steele at the GOP needs to be contacted.. There's no place for racism in either party; I've heard alot from ALL sides, even on this website.

Sarah Palin is the one that put her children in the public arena as political props. They had beer bottles thrown at them, and were forced to hear obscenities yelled at their mom at a hockey game during the campaign. Her children stood by and listen to their mom accuse the President of being a terrorist while the crowd shouted " terrorist" "kill him". She is an ignorant, shameless, self serving political hack. She never misses an opportunity to exploit the military or wrap herself in the flag.
