@Darek12cool Regularly hand feed your fish.. maybe 1-2 times a week... Most fish will eventually eat from your hand. With pleco's it can take some time... and iv never managed to hand feed other types of pleco's.... only sailfins.

estos animales, son cariñosos, yo tengo uno asi tambien, hace algun tiempo tuve otro pleco, que le gustaba matar a otros peces, yo pensaba que era una bacteria en el agua, luego por las señas de los muertos, le eche la culpa a otro pleco vitata grande que tenia, pero un dia lo descubri.

I was so sad to have to give up my aquarium. I had a pleco, much smaller than this guy, that got very used to me. I could pet him too. I started by feeding him lettuce by hand. I had to be very still, any slight movement would scare him. Then, over time, just seeing my hand meant food. I was petting him, he was looking for food. I love plecos! Btw- I love your cute little clown loaches that randomly appear!

@spudsssy Ur pleco is nice lol. i have a weird looking common plec. but hes super shy. he gets scared of my baby guppies and hes 3 and a half inches. he is LIGHTNING fast. whenever i see him at like 2 a.m i try to watch him as much as i can cuz hes really pretty. he is a light caramel color with 3 black stripes across his back. in another tank is my largest one who will atleast move and come . my smallest in a 5 gal is albino and he will do the same thing as urs. he is about 1 and half inches.

This is rare behavior of them. Most often people can't have any physical connection to their fish (unless they force them some how). Let alone to plecos. You fortunate bastard! :)

@tuanviet101088 same with mine i got him at a inch and raised him with a 3 inch crayfish and when he got to 3 inches i put him in with african cichlids. now he lives with johannis and pack leader(my 4 inch con. who kills all other south american even one twice his size and hate my pleco but the pleco fights back and plus hes 5 inches)

how long did it take for him to get so tame??? i currently have 2 plecos a fine line gibby and a common (never seen two plecos like each other so much :) )... i want to raise them to be friendly like that.... any suggestions??

@theonlyrogi He started coming up after about 4-5 years.... Never used to hand feed my fish till i got a fire eel and after a few month of handfeeding every week my pleco and other fish were eating out of my hand no prob.

@theonlyrogi You may already know this, but fish can get very "used" to you by you being by the tank alot... having your hand/arm in the tank alot(not recommended because of the oils your body contains, could quite possibly contaminate your water overtime... but nonetheless your fish can get very used to you through those things... this isn't tame behavior... being tame means a wild caught animal that has a natural incentive in their mind to cause harm, wont... I hope this helped...
