The most important thing is 'I think Brian May said something around the lines of' - this would give them a chance to show they didn't need all the theatericals, and they could show how good of musicians they are. They have allways been well known for amazing stage, lightings, etc. But this was a great day for Queen fans and the many, many more they picked up from this concert. Freddie was all the theaterics they needed & the #1 singer.

I love that at the end, Freddie and Paul McCartney, arms around each other, Bob Geldof patting Elton John's arse. Yes Freddie was as camp as christmas, thats why he was such a great bloody showman. And where else could Mark Walburg get on stage with the likes of Fredie, Elton, Paul, Sting, Bowie and Roger Daltry!  Must have been the absolute highlight of his musical career, good job he turned to acting! And yeah, Freddie should have been front and centre at the end, he stole it big time!

Everyone else at Live Aid at Wembley played as if it was just practising in the garage. Queen and Freddie played as if their very lives depended on it and as a result there is only one standout performance in the entire concert. This part of the performance stands out even more for me as a testament to Freddie's ability to play the crowd like no one else. What a giant, what a genius. What a man.
