I am not Estonian but I like there so much. In the street, you can be relax about language because I gues nearly all people who live there can speak English, maybe not so well or fluently but I am sure; they want to help you. I have been in so many country, but my best time was passed there.

I've been in Estonia in October 2008 and was a great visit! One of my favourite countries! I made awesome friends there! They have some angry people who don't like tourists, but it's not the most! The most like tourists and hang out with us! I'll come back there, for sure!

We've captured the Estonian territory back in 1721 fair and square, that makes it ours. Dumb Estonians, who thought that this country was theirs got kicked into groin and sent out to Siberia in 1940. "Tough" Estonian men cried like little girls for mercy. And guess what? Today Estonians are still the same coward-nation they used to be: show them a fist and they will sh1t their pants. Estonians will always live in fear, because Russia is nearby and that makes this nation pathetic.
Well, if you remember history, in 1918-1921 Russia was torn apart by civil war + a significant part of its territory was under German occupation in 1918. So Estonians did not "defeat Russia", they simply abused the situation, by cowardly and illegally proclaiming independence, while the German army was retreating and Russians have not yet re-entered the territory (which, by the way was provided cultural autonomy status, much more than Estonia's Russian community can afford today).
Of course Russia could not just ignore its territories going rogue, so a few batallions of its already exhausted and extremely weakened (from WW1 and the ongoing civil war) army were dispatched here... That's it. Just a few lousy newly-formed batallions. Add to that all the support they received from USA, UK et al. and that's the only way you can get "brave Estonians". Under other circumstances they would still be hiding in their little huts. Twist of fate.
It's true what you say about Russia being in the middle of the civil war, but you're too concentrated on your side of the story. We had no army, we had to build it from scratch. when the Russians invaded, we had 2000 men with light weapons in the army (no artillery) and 14000 men with similar weaponry in the home guard.Russians in the second(!) front south in the lake Peipus, 2nd Novgorod Division with 7000 infantry had 12 field guns, 50 machine guns, 2 armored trains, and 3 armored vehicles.
And "all the support from USA, UK etc" was mostly weapons, USA contributed with humanitarian assistance. Direct military assistance was given by 4000 Finnish volunteers and the UK Navy on the Finnish Gulf, for which we are very thankful. Also there were about 6000 white russians. The main force in the end of the mobilization was 75000 Estonians, there were a lot of students only 16-17 years old. Russian "few battalions" had a count of 160000+.
Let me stop you there, Cabal. Germans captured Estonia in 1227, during the ancient freedom war (III crusade), doesn't that make it theirs? or the Polish and Swedish in 1562 not mentioning the occupants coming later on. OH..and I thought the Soviets were here to to liberate Estonia from nazis in 1940? wasn't the case, was it?

We've captured the Estonian territory back in 1721 fair and square, that makes it ours. Dumb Estonians, who thought that this country was theirs got kicked into groin and sent out to Siberia in 1940. "Tough" Estonian men cried like little girls for mercy. And guess what? Today Estonians are still the same coward-nation they used to be: show them a fist and they will sh1t their pants. Estonians will always live in fear, because Russia is nearby and that makes this nation pathetic.

Well, if you remember history, in 1918-1921 Russia was torn apart by civil war + a significant part of its territory was under German occupation in 1918. So Estonians did not "defeat Russia", they simply abused the situation, by cowardly and illegally proclaiming independence, while the German army was retreating and Russians have not yet re-entered the territory (which, by the way was provided cultural autonomy status, much more than Estonia's Russian community can afford today).

Of course Russia could not just ignore its territories going rogue, so a few batallions of its already exhausted and extremely weakened (from WW1 and the ongoing civil war) army were dispatched here... That's it. Just a few lousy newly-formed batallions. Add to that all the support they received from USA, UK et al. and that's the only way you can get "brave Estonians". Under other circumstances they would still be hiding in their little huts. Twist of fate.

It's true what you say about Russia being in the middle of the civil war, but you're too concentrated on your side of the story. We had no army, we had to build it from scratch. when the Russians invaded, we had 2000 men with light weapons in the army (no artillery) and 14000 men with similar weaponry in the home guard.Russians in the second(!) front south in the lake Peipus, 2nd Novgorod Division with 7000 infantry had 12 field guns, 50 machine guns, 2 armored trains, and 3 armored vehicles.

And "all the support from USA, UK etc" was mostly weapons, USA contributed with humanitarian assistance. Direct military assistance was given by 4000 Finnish volunteers and the UK Navy on the Finnish Gulf, for which we are very thankful. Also there were about 6000 white russians. The main force in the end of the mobilization was 75000 Estonians, there were a lot of students only 16-17 years old. Russian "few battalions" had a count of 160000+.
