  • @khetab420hasam HOW would they do that? Your scrotum is a bag (well, presumably). It's loose. It doesn't stretch due to the motion of the legs. No, your balls are not going to split.

    I could do the splits about five years ago but got a cramp in the gluteal muscles of the backmost leg every time I did it. Needless to say, it wasn't very pleasant, so I quit doing it. Now I'm trying to gain enough flexibility to do it again - this time a bit more thoroughly.

  • @khetab420hasam I would urge you not to be discouraged. My theory is that my gluteal muscles just weren't warm and/or stretched enough - a problem I never sought to solve when I was training. This time, I'm giving my hips a real thorough stretch every time in order to avoid that problem.

    Also, I might add, none of my friends had the same problem. Those statistics make it seem unlikely that you would encounter the same problem.

  • well anyone who is flexible can do the splits. which is why i don't get these videos. It's about getting your tendons to stretch that far, anyone can pick up what position they have to get into.

  • Great you are helping put the word out on how to do the splits. It sure is important not to get injured, you have a good technique. We just put up another video on more advanced tips on stretching for splits.

  • I am extremely flexible, I can bend in some questionable ways and I can NOT do a damn split to save my life. Both your videos show one easy move to go into it. It has nothing about "learn" to do the splits. Your assuming everyone knows how to already and can do your "technique" easily.

  • You make it seem so easy and simple but it's not i did a split once when i was 8 but i was more flexible. What bothers me is i can put both of my feet behind my head, but i cant do a slit any more. :P

  • Cutenadiaxoxo, yes it does. I am a gymnast and I help train little kids at my gym all the time and the average legnth of time that it takes them to get their splits is 3-4 weeks. You may just be lucky and/or a quicker learner.(:

  • Oh yeah, and the splits takes at least 1 month to acompish, and if your not that flexible... somewhere around 2 months!

  • Ummmm... people can't just slide their knee forward and get it on the first try. Their knee will lock in place. Your video should be teaching kids how to stretch for the splits. Not trying to be rude, but take that advice.(:

  • You're seriously right!I can say that my flexibility sucks. My knees lock when i start to do a split.I can say that i takes months to just get your knees not to get locked...

  • I can do a right front split fairly well, my left is not there... But it kills me trying to do the side splits because my weird... double jointed type hip things start to hurt...

  • do hamstring stretches sitting down and standing up, and sit in straddle then go lean to your left and then right and leftr again etc for a while but make you sure you have your knees stretched(:

  • there's not really a way you can teach someone how to do the splits, it's just a matter of time doing stretches or how genetically flexible you are to go all the way down into the splits.

  • I've got girls at my dance school who are naturally flexible but don't know it so they come to dance and in the stretch of class the teacher asks for you hands in fifth position and the go flat in splits naturally because all they had to be broken (as in push and they just fall into place)

  • yeah, i was naturally like that! But all you need to keep doing is stretching everyday to get then down, do lunges and stuff. The butterfly helps too! And youll get em!

  • it actually does not take a year , i first practiced by stretching my legs out agaisnt the wall each day i would get closer to the wall i learned the splits is 3 weeks, i could even do a side split also.

  • you have to move you left hip forward.....what I do is put my hands on my hip bones and see if both of my hands are parallel. Also I see if I can see both of my hands. It looks like you could be doing the middle splits

  • i taught myself to do it, just sit on a flat surface with ur legs straight infront of you and lean forward so u r touching your toes. This may hurt a little to begin with because you are stretching your tendons but if you keep at it your tendons will be come flimsy and u'll b able to do the splits. try not to push yourself too far because you can pull or even tear a muscle.

  • That's not a good split. Your knee is rotated outside, but it's supposed to be lying on the ground.

  • Yeah, i have the same problem as you and hazelbell12, but its only my left leg, cuz i didnt even it out when i wuz young, so i can do my righ tleg, but not my left =D LOL...that sucks! But um...jus keep pracicing and keep ur hands on the floor and just try and keep ur knee up...? i think thats just cuz ur too lazy to hold it cuz u get tired. thats what happens to me on my left leg =D

  • It takes about 10 minutes, if you stretch out reallyyyyyyyy good.

    I can only do a split on my left leg, but once you can get into a split its not that hard to stay down.

    But otherwise, its pretty easy.

  • I can do the splits,You need to take your time its not easy at first if you do it the first time you just get a shock because you think it hurts,It will only hurt the first couple of times until you get used to it after a while you can just drop into them.And they only will hurt because your not used to using the musscles in your legs.
