Does anyone else think Kucinich might get offered a running-mate spot by Obama if it were to come to that? Maybe Obama will try to snag Edwards but I would think Edwards would feel like leftovers because he ran as VP candidate with Kerry. And Richardson seems to leadership-oriented to make a good VP candidate. To Quietsheep and the rest of you who believe in Dennis, take heart because just a month ago the polls put him at 1% but now I've seen polls where he is up to 5%, passing Biden, and closing in on Richardson. Once he passes him in support, and with Hillary losing credibilty/support lately I really believe he can be more than a long shot. Kucinich and Paul are complete opposites on everything but Iraq. They would never run together. Both oppose the WTO, NAFTA and other free trade agreements that harm labor and the environment and sent American jobs over seas. They both are stong defenders of our personal freedom. Both opposed USA-PATRIOT and its renewal and the Real ID Act. A Kucinich-Paul ticket would unite America.

Paul is an extreme right wing libertarian (who opposes abortion rights). Kucinich is really on the actual left. But the left's patriotism is always suspect, so Kucinich can't really attack the war machine the way that Ron Paul has. I definitely support Kucinich over Paul. I also support Kucinich over Gravel who is really into a kind of libertarianism that isn't as extreme as Ron Paul's.

Paul personally opposes abortion rights but wants to leave it up to the states to decide. There are libertarians on both side of the issue, for them it is a definition of when life begins and for Dr. Paul, since he is a specialist in obstetrics he would oppose abortion from a personal standpoint.

In the last session, Paul opposed a bill which made it illegal to take a teenager out of state for an abortion. He believes it's a states rights issue. Basically, Paul won't do anything to cut off choice and he won't do anything to protect it.

Kucinich is centrist, but they've herd Americans back to the right by telling them centrist is leftist. Following Bush's term, the most critical issues are peace, repealing the Patriot Act and the Real ID Act and withdrawal from the WTO.

Abouta 95% of America agrees with Kucinich's positions. When people are told someone is left, they often don't check where that person stands on the issues. The corporate view should not be calculated in determining whether someone is centrist. Corporatins don't get a vote. Every single position DK has is mainstream.

I doubt it is even possible for a Kucinich-Paul ticket, they are two very different individuals who believe in very different things. Their foreign policy is similar, but have different reasons for that. Kucinich, from what I have heard wants to expand federal govt, Paul wants to shrink it.

Neither party has a majority. Ron Paul certainly doesn't have a majority for some of his positions. However, the peace movement does have a majority and they are the two peace candidates. I see a Kucinich-Paul ticket as something that could unite the country. The Democrats' best chance in the general election is with Kucinich. The Republicans' best chance is with Paul. Together, they would have a winning ticket.
