  • Flawless, a gift to our ears! :)

  • nice

  • @OldSchoolSkill

I agree on all points wholeheartly...except, it is being played in E-minor (rather than E-flat, which is a real pain in the ass on guitar unless a capo is employed). There is an interesting interchange possible with B-minor and E-minor with this tune and "Europa". And Zane, this is a suggestion that you play and post "Europa".

  • Beautiful performance. Great technique and nice feel.

  • Very intense emotion on your face there. I thought you were constipated. ;-)

  • what is the tuning and where can i find a tab for this?

  • @joggingbanana Tuning is standard. Tab may be available online, try Google.

  • What is the autograph on your guitar?

  • @MrYellowPen Tommy Emmanuel, word's best guitarist. Check him out!

  • @zacharron Is it genuine? Thank you, and well played.

  • you look like Chavo Guerrero

  • Nice, neat.

  • thumbs up for the intension on face!

  • hi im learning this off this video and i was wondering if you could tell me what your right hand fingers are doing asactly on those trilly frilly bits?

  • @fckinlovebeans Um, which trilly frilly bits would those be?

  • @zacharron yano in the main section were you bar the second fret and do those hammer on and pull off things on the third fret on the e string and the same with a bm7 chord but on the 5th fret on the b string

  • @fckinlovebeans Just hammer-ons and pull-offs on the frets you mentioned. There are some good transcripts online for this, try to find one if you can't figure out all the little details.

  • @zacharron noo i ment your right hand, like are you strumming it with your thumb pick or something, and are you using a normal thump pick here or a shorter one?

sorry about all the questions but im doing this as part of an a level recital so i would really appreciate the help

  • @fckinlovebeans I think I know what you mean. It's not strumming, it's a fast arpeggio with the right hand thumb/fingers. Start with the thumb and quickly play the arpeggio with your index, middle and ring fingers in succession. It takes a bit of practice, just keep your right hand relaxed and try to think of the arpeggio as one motion.

I use Fred Kelly thumbpicks, which are a bit shorter than Dunlops. I like them better.

Hope this helps and please let me know if you post your final results!

  • jizz in my pants.

  • wow it's very nice! were going to play it in our jazzband... but i've got my problems by playing it because of the 5/4...

  • @xmusicm4nx I'd recommend simply listening to the song 20 or 30 times. The 5/4 time you'll get used to.

  • @xmusicm4nx

ure in a jazzband and cant hold a 5/4 ? omg

  • @BroadwayScar what the hell, i didn't even write something about that i'm not able to hold a 5/4, but i've got just a few problems with it... learn how to read! and just stop pissing me off!

there are other places for to write such fucking shit!

  • at 0:07 i think you are supposed to keep the bass line going on. You are missing some bass notes. Thats what gives Chet Atkins' arrangement the "saxophone+piano" feeling. Check out this, sounds closer to Chet Atkins' version watch?v=KOLXH1LdTN0

  • @hideare To be honest I don't remember exactly where I learned it from, and I can't remember if the transcription had the bass note being held or not, but be my guest!

  • so is this really chet atkins arrangement, because I found a transcription on the internet and is very different than this, mine is a Guitar Pro file but on 1:18 on it doesnt specify chord forms, only a few fingers and I would like to play it correctly. And the bass on your version sounds so much cooler...

  • @contact1araya Yup, it's really Chet's arrangement. I think I leaned it from one of the 'Chet Atkin's in Three Dimensions' books. Highly recommended books, both Vol 1 & 2.

  • Wow, your playing is really impressing!

    All the thumbs up

  • your fingers are made of steel

  • There are about 4 people who either missed the like button or need to go jump off of something

  • @mdoubledbg I agree!

  • really sweet and mellow rendition, thank you!

  • amazing, man ! , im looking for taking a break from tommy's songs for a little while

where did you get the tabs ? ill be glad if youll respond

you are very good , i think you are the main reason i want to learn this song

    cheers !

  • That's awesome, never heard Chet's fingerstyle version of Take 5..outstanding, good job buddy. I also have to agree Tommy Emanuel is the shiznit, his guitar boogie is a real piece of art....I bet you also like Lenny Breau??? cheers

  • Fred Kelly's thumbpick, no?

  • you played it so cool..

  • Really a cool tune. And you play it very well.

  • this is awesome 5/5

  • veramante bravo!

  • super !!!

  • Very nice sound! The lick at the end is something you can be proud of. :D greetings from germany :)

  • fantastic! whats the autograph?

  • @wolverineks Tommy Emmanuel, world's best guitarist. Check him out on YouTube!

  • this was beautiful! I liked your additions, liked it better than chet's version actually! I also did this song and posted it on youtube a few years ago... not nearly as good as this, but take a look at it if you like!

  • great stuff

  • i like very !

  • I like the head shake after the intense emotion moment, like a small wet dog.

  • !!!YES...YOU DO!!!

    BRAVO!!!!!!!

  • My first thought was to say

I really DO LOVE this version.

Then I Thought No! I'll tell him

    how much I enjoyed

    his little 'smart ass' comments.

    Being a smart ass myself

I don't know what to do???

    Can you help me???

    Very nice playing!

  • Thanks. No, it's not my transcription, but the link to it is in the above description.

  • Sounds really good!

  • Fine relaxed picking!

  • Great performance!!!

I wish i could play that too.

Do you happen to have sheet music or tabs for it please?

  • smooth as. really really good guitar dude. anyone who can sound like more than one guitarist on their own deserves praise.

  • is your guitar signed by Tommy Emmanuel?

  • Yup!

  • Clean.

  • Great playing, very laid back (-:

  • Nicely done.

  • Very nice. Shows a nice command of the guitar and a truly Brubeckian slinky approach.

  • Sehr relaxed!!

Also die Einschübe: ich hab mich zerkringelt!

Und deine Finger waren eh brav!

    Super gespielt Zane!!

    liebe Grüße,

    wolfgang

  • Very Nice. Great version.

  • GREAT playing!

  • Well done.

  • Nice job on this!

  • Excellent playing Zane! This is a great arrangement. I have it somewhere....at least I use to...if I could just find it! (Don't remember that last lick at the end being in there though) :-) Sweet! Thanks for posting! 5*! -Derek

  • Hi Zane, great one! It is true that some things (like the internet) make us sloppier, while they are intended to help us out... Comments below are a good reminder that sometimes more work will make you a better player then the easy way.

    All the best, Jeroen

  • WOW , great job there Zane . Thanks I enjoyed this one a lot .... Keep up the great work!!!

  • Good, but dIdn't swing.

  • Hi Zane, such a wonderful classic. I like your version very much. 5***** my YT-friend!

    All the best,

    Bernd

  • I really enjoyed this song. Great playing!

  • Bravo Zach, you've done a super job, you'll "take five" stars from me! :)

  • Excellent job.*****

  • Does anyone know where I could get sheet music , power tab, or out and out tabs for this amazing piece, this is one of those fancy tunes to pull out to impress your fellow friends and musicians...not too mention makes for a good practice tune to practice travis picking and thumb pick style playing to.

  • why don't u just play it by ear is not that hard only a few chords and the solo part

  • cause maybe I'm not that good...or I'm just friggin' lazy! LOL. you're right I think I may finally be at that point in my music life where I can finger this out by ear...probably not, but hey that's what the pause button and rewinding are for...repetitive learning...and fortunately I can see what notes he's fretting and I can pick up the picking on my own. Thanks for nothing!

  • I've never understand how someone can be savvy enough to get online and get a YouTube account and leave comments and such but not to simply google 'take five tab chet'. Baffling. It takes less time than posting this response.

  • I did...the problem is, is that there is only a guitar pro tab for it and I do not have the guitar pro tab program...I use Power Tab and Tabledit...or pen and paper, LOL! But either way I think I am going to have to follow nemakur's lead and just learn it by ear and visual..which will be a challenge for me as I may be able to play well, but I am still not quiet that "Savvy" enough to get it down well by ear..so I guess its about time I learned, eh! you are brilliant at guitar by the way! cheers!

  • It's actually a pretty easy arrangement to figure out by ear, and a better view of the fretboard you can't get. I learned almost everything by ear when I was a teenager (and couldn't afford books) and it has served me very well!

  • that was tight!!! nice job

  • amazing, well done *****

  • Take five is an historical beautifull tune. You played it very well! Good rhytm! Only one blip, but we don't care. Fine.
