  • Where can i buy this wax?

  • I ordered a snowboard online and have been wondering if it's ok if I use it right away when I get it, or do I have to like wax it and get the edges sharpened first? Will it damage it or anything if I don't do that first?

  • @nirvanafan7777 Waxing your board is just to make the board slide faster and more smooth, but you will not damage the board if you don´t ;-)

  • @HKonNorway yes it will... if you dont wax the scratches wont get fixed.

  • i have that iron! ha

  • Hey I'm only an ameteur, and I know this is a really stupid question, but what do things like waxing, scraping, and sharpening your edges do for your board? And how often should I wax the base/sharpen the edge? Someone please reply to this thank you.

  • dude you made a BIG NO NO

alwasy remove your bindings because if the screws are left in

what the hot iron does is it will start to build up pressure in the very little space that is left in the screw hole and it will start to push on the screws making it very hard to turn them and it can also strip the screw holes

  • @loopyboopoo1 It'll only get hot enough to do that if you like hold the iron there for a few miutes.

  • @Ride4Jesus214 ya but still, the way you know your board is absorbing the wax is if you put your hand on the underside of your board ( top of board ) and if it is warm to your touch you are doing it correctly, if its cold the pours in the board arent opening up all the way and your just wasting more wax than is needed

  • first is a better method to melt the wax then slide it on the board (wax) in the same direction always. Secondly when you spread the wax with the iron you should use a wax paper between the iron and the board always in same direction not in every direction! The important thing is to distribute the wax evenly on the board then afer it has cooled you remove the excess wax with scraper then lightly brush down with soft brush. Always move in same direction towards front of board.

  • @lolforbob it doesnt matter if its even or not, as long as you have the right amount of excess on the entire base it'll scratch off evenly when removing the wax. also, it doesn't matter if youre melting it in the same direction, youre scraping off the top layers anyway. you should think about taking some type of brush (not a toothbrush) and gently groom the wax the direction of the board. dont get too carried away, but give the top layer a few brushes and itll help.

  • but can you use candles instead that wax or a normal iron?

  • @MrDeni213 you can use a regular iron, just be wary of the temperature it gets to.. if the wax is smoking it is too hot. and dont use it for clothes again...

as for wax, i dont suggest using it.its not going to offer any benefits and wax really isnt that expensive.

  • thx dude i just got a snow board today, and i got verry helpful tips from your videos!!thx

  • does the kind of wax matter?

  • lol..wow

  • @guildwarior6 yeah big time. depending on the temperature you plan on being in, buy that wax accordingly. google "swix wax" and you should get a bunch of great results

  • @CrusaderRB32 thanks man

  • umm where can you get one of those iron sorry i just got ingot snow boarding

  • @vietanmay911 any shop or a website, like burton.com

  • @vietanmay911 use an old at home, not the one you useing to iron your clothes, it will destroy your clother, (sorry for the english)

  • never go uo and down!!! only side to side...

  • dude, get some hand cream!

  • What is wrong with your finger is like something is eating it

  • hey dumbass you don't know how to spell smoking... sick burn tho.

just waxed mine thanks a lot for this man. i used a dakine iron and all temp dakine wax stick, which actually has a buffing side on the cap. i assume you only wax half the board at a time for hardening purposes, but definitely take off your bindings if you can so the wax doesn't drip onto them and solidify.

    don't use a household iron...

  • u can wax the whole board at once

  • do you need to get that special iron? or can i get like a regular clothes iron? i mean i know if i get one for clothes i can't use it again for ironing but will it work for this cause of the holes?

  • Yes you can use a regular iron if you dont have a tuning iron, or you just cant afford one. A 6 dollar walmart iron will work just fine.

  • @drumma29 You can use a normal one. Just make sure its not to hot. (they get hotter than the snowboard specific irons). The guys at ass wax and also my local shop say the same thing.

  • @drumma29 yeah you can, my video will show you how I do it,

    youtube.com/ watch?v=TQYgdAy1H-g

  • @drumma29 YES YOU CAN STILL USE A ORMAL IRON

  • @drumma29 No, it will ruin the iron. MC sports offers a nice flat surface (Single purpose) iron, along with wax.

  • Hey, dumbass, your wax is smokeing

  • is this ethod or a spray on wax method better?

  • melt on for sure. spray on sucks, it only last for like 4 runs down the hill

  • this because a spray on wax doesnt get absorbed into the base and it only lasts a couple runs

  • bullshit method!

  • Why do people who "proclaim" that they know how to wax their boards mote efficiently even bother to watch this video, or comment for that matter. It's very irritating to see someone's helpful video to be critized. Anyways bro, thanks for the helpful video!

  • Hey what kind of wax is recommended? Is it a specific kind or just regular candle stuff? Let me know man.

  • @westlinnsniper uhm you do NOT use jsut regular candle wax

you have to get snowboard wax sonn

  • candle wax will slow u down usually the best wax is the all temperature wax

  • You have to get snowboard wax bro. I like dakine all temp!

  • this vid was a big waste of time..

  • wow ur an idiot u take the bindings off

  • can u do this with regular iron to wax board

  • u can, i do but make sure its not the regular house iron ur parents and siblings use to iron their clothes, it ruins the iron and when u use it, make sure its not on the highest setting or it can damage the board, iv learned from experience, then again thats y i have 5 boards =P

  • if you guys are all such pros why do u watch this stuff ?

  • well im not a pro but when i get board i watch like vids like this just cuz i have nothing better to do

  • you reallly shouldnt wax your board with the bindings on it.

  • why not? is that bad?

  • yea.. something to do with the screws and shit

you should always take your bindings off when you wax

aha i really dont know exactly why but its definately bad

  • You have to take your bindings off because the screws pull on the bottem of the board and it actually causes a divet and it's not flat feels flat but its not. so gotta take out the binding screws.

  • yea since there is a litlle bit of plastic so that when u screw them on they dont strip but it will melt the plastic and possibly damage the strippings on your board next time ull take em off

  • Question, can you use a regular iron (home) to wax a snowboard, being really careful?

  • nup, apparently they dont spread the heat evenly enough and the wax goes in the holes.

  • i wouldnt recommand it but you must put the iron or middle heat the was must not smoke if it does its too hot i put my hand under the board and has soon has i start to feel a little heat i change place

  • dont push down hard it'll scratch up your base and could leave blistering

  • Is this guy waxing with his bindings still on?

Doesn't everyone say you have to remove the bindings first? that should be on his "mistakes" video.

  • nah all you gotta do is loosen the screws you dont gotta take em off.

  • how does that effect waxing?

  • Simply put, the screws of the bindings pull up on on the base of the board. So when you scrape the wax off its hard to scrape off on that spot. Just loosen em up or take em off, simple.

  • it makes waxing more annoying?

  • Well the screws for your bindings, will pull on the board making little concave dips where your bindings are on the base, so it just makes the process alot easier. With a ski scraper you should be fine though

  • because with the bindings in there will be dimples pushing through the base you might not notice it by the naked eye but it's there.

  • you dont have to take them all they way off jus loosen them so you dont have the little dents on the bottom
