  • I was only 1 1/2 when Hank died. I'm just thankful his recordings live on.

  • Sad but true what's written in the newspaper clipping "It is tragic that Mr. Hank Williams was never able to bring to his own life the satisfaction that he gave to so many tohers with his contributions to the fields of folk and popular music." I would add to that "and continues to give".

  • Hank Williams,Sr.was probably true country music.true country is one the things that just doesn't get too much airplay on too many radio stations in too many areas too often, nowadays.if Hank Williams,Sr.live longer, chances are, more radio stations in more areas would have been playing more true country music more often!

  • @hank29pc713trainman What you say is especially true when you think that years after Hank released "Move It On Over", Bill Hailey scored a huge hit with the same song. He just called it "Rock Around The lock".

  • I remember this sad day, I got to see Hank in Tulsa in 1948 he was a great entertainer and I will never forget Luke the Drifter and his Drifting Cowboys.

  • That song is beautiful . Hank sing in Heaven, God loves us all and wants us all in Heaven. Please accept Jesus as your Savior and live for and love God and have Heaven as your home and let satan be defeated.

  • No body can ever touch a heart and soul like he could. Born long after his death i was fortunate to have parents that still listened to his great music.

  • a great country music singer gone so glad his son and grandson are carrying on his tradition

  • My father cried upon learning of Mr. Williams' passing. I remember thinking I didn't know he knew him. Well, I doubt that he did but he knew his music which made them friend and family at the least.

  • I remember when he died. I was 12 and heard it on the radio. I was old enough to know we had lost something in our lives that would never be replaced. He is still popular today , 58 years after his death. Wrote some of the best music ever written by anyone. Go with God, Hank. Gotta feeling you are up there playing and singing for the Master.

  • I was listening to the radio when they made this announcement .What a shock. I had just pulled in the driveway to park the car I felt like my best friend had died. I loved his music and still do He was the best ,It reminds me of the night he was called back 5or 6 time the night he first sang Lovesick Blues on the Grand Old OPrey. I was 12 or 13 yrs. old .His delivery of that song burnt into my mind. I can still hear it today. Keep singing HANK.

  • Are you ready for some football!?

  • I'm 30 and agree. What you hear on the radio or see on tv is not COUNTRY. He wrote the note in country and every soul out there writes on it. Sad.

  • I was eight years old on this date. My next birthday I will be 66 years young. Never again will there be as great a entertainer and song writer as Hank Sr.

  • Hank Williams music had what today's music lacks, that is..soul.

  • @RossM3838 And talent, meaning and feeling behind his songs

  • I remember this announcement when I was in Korea.

  • 60+ years later, musical artists are still using his songs for the foundation of their carreers. He was one of the greatest Country Music song writer/singers ever! I suppose his passing was a precurser to the death of Buddy Holly!
