I dictinctly recall tyson ending up on the deck at one point. I also remember it going the distance. Is my memory playing tricks or was there a rematch. I stayed up to watch this.I was 15 at the time.

I don't think he's genetically gifted necessarily. If you're 5.11" at 220 or 6.3" at 220, the shorter guy will lose less torque in their punches by having stronger core muscles. The mid section is highly underrated for punching power, the reason Foreman was such a beast is his mid section. Just look at how wide the torsos are for the strongest punchers. I saw a training vid where Tyson talked about this while doing crunches with a 90lb disk held at his abdomen.

yet, in 1989, Tyson still fought a very tough bigger Bruno, & still beat him

Tyson was a different fighter then the guy who ko'ed Tubbs and Holmes 1 year earlier. Gone was the head movement, body punching and combination punching. Tyson was head hunting and throwing 1 punch at time.

@kanwar47 It WAS a brave performance by Bruno. Yeah, Tyson obviously controlled and won the fight, but Bruno did last five rounds and took some heavy blows from him yet kept on fighting. Plus he did rock Tyson once in the first round with that one big punch. Some people say this was the first fight that showed Tyson wasn't invincible. I disagree, I think it was the fight that Tyson had with James "Quick" Tillis that showed that, but still.
