  • The question is personal. What are we willing to give or to give up for so great a Savior? 1st Peter 1:18-19. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversations received by traditions from your fathers; (19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

  • wow im tired rofl meant to say I have no desire to Force others to serve him!!!

  • to force* others to serve him

  • I am more tired of people running around shouting bless me, give me more, or God save these people, you should not be worried about any one but God, and I get so sick of being told I am being Self-Righteous just because I state facts if you feel uncomfortable with the facts then maybe you should be looking at your own life. I am comfortable with how I serve God, and have no desire to for others to serve him. I WILL state the fact that you can not serve him if you are only worried about you!!!

  • Actually, they both lived long lives and left the West Indies....Checkout this link to one of them. famousamericans . net / davidnitschmann /

  • @haddonjames Yes you right I should say many died, but Nitschmann not (on those islands). Leonard Dober did. Also others did die later (after call of D.N.) Eg. Matthaeus Miksch. It is hard to get it right. I do not blame Paris for not getting it axactly correct (without internet :). But the saying "May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering." is correct. It shows love for Jesus and commitment and that was the point he wanted to make. Regards to you from moravian lands.

  • Sensbach, a professor of history at the University of Florida, offers a fascinating study of a woman and a religious revival in the 18th century. His heroine is Rebecca Protten, a freed slave living and working in the Dutch colony of St. Thomas. Born around 1718, Rebecca was freed by her master, for reasons the historical sources do not reveal, sometime after 1730. Always religiously inclined, her ...

    More commitment to Moravian Christianity

  • Hey, I was moved by this story as well, but as I researched it, I found it to be untrue. You can research it on the internet and you will find that this didn't happen the way it is described. Actually, the two missionaries came back and lived. I don't blame the pastor, he was just a little lazy in not making sure the story was true. Most pastors today embellish when they hear a good story.

  • Can you supply a link or a reference to what you are implying here? I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks!

  • Yes, I am sick of scoffers who want to change truth and history. The devils crowd wants to demoralize and destroy any and every hero of Christianity we have. Their mouths should be stopped.

  • Wiggie, did you review the informatioin I sent you with the truth about this story?

  • "In 1732 he (David Nitschmann)went to the West Indies as one of the first two foreign missionaries of the Moravian church, who declared their readiness to sell themselves as slaves if there should be no other way of reaching the negroes."

  • @haddonjames

Hi what I know from the letters preserved is that they really did die there but the Moravians did not sell themselves to slavery. They agreed to work along the slaves in order to tell the gospel in harsh conditions but were free to retreat. But this itself was bad enough that a great number of them died soon. When only a few were left they asked for more to come to continue the mission and they did, knowing they are very likely to die soon. What a great love for Lord Jesus!

  • Wow, what an incredible message...these missionaries truly laid down their lives for the cause of Christ! What rewards they will receive on that great day of our Lord's return! What an example for us ALL! God bless you and thank you for sharing this video!

  • lets pray to Christ Jesus more each day! for others and for humility! God bless!

  • @InHISWord2 if you are looking at it as what great rewards they will receive I think you missed the point, their rewards are irrelevant. The full sermon was teaching about how everything is for God, and we have twisted it in the Modern day to be all about us, and what we will receive, this story was about how those men left knowing they would not get anything, but give everything to God. I do not care if I am destined for Heaven so long as I can serve God, I do not deserve paradise but he

  • Respond to this video... but he deserves my service no matter what may come.

  • @Ilovewinter Self-righteousness is a false humility. I did not miss the point. You might want to check that beam. God Bless you.

  • @InHISWord2 You mistake self-righteousness for me only stating the truth, if I was being self-righteousness I would be pointing out what I have done, or the great things I am getting, or how I am better than others. I have done none of those things, and take insult from some one who misunderstands me, also I was not condemning you, only pointing out that it seems so many people are more worried about the rewards, and details, and they miss the whole point.

  • Wonderful video. Wow these preachers and evangelists today teach that we should all be living in the lap of luxury. They don't teach sacrifice, which is what the Christian life is really all about!

  • I pray God that He may open our eyes on the reality of the eternity. The 2 Morivians had it for sure. Ever asked yourself what is the most important thing in your christian life? It's to Preach the gospel, with your words & deeds ( both come togheter ). This is so little to offer compared to the gift of life we received from the only begotten Son of God. Jesus.

  • Very cool story.

  • Amen and amen!
