I can't belive the number of commenters here that have totally missed the point of this video, which is to illustrate the broader meaning of the term architecture. Architecture as its portrayed here is applicable to many different disciplines from product design, to information systems, to business planning. Not just buildings. Words mean something.
architecture is known for 5 milenium bc as building design so to make the concept that you say is architecture would distroy a whole study about building design because than it will be harder to navigate between tools electronic music tools design and so the study will dissapper as something unique and will hard for the mind to notice
Does landscaping have anything to do with architecture? in college do they have to take any of the same classes between becoming a landscaping designer and an architect?
@kennykiller911 I go to cal poly and landscape arch is a totally different field. it is a 5 yr program like architecture, but thats about the only similarities. We architecture students have our own studios and take arch ___ and landscape arch students take LArch ____ and they have their own building and studios.
Extremely well styled - a masterpiece. I love the application of the handheld and hand-drawn feel that make it look organic and effortless, really distills the essence of the message.
Bullshit speak like this is why people hate architects and work with structural engineers instead. Just say what you mean and don't try to sound so "interesting".
Designing a cup is not architecture. It is cup design. Designing a building is architecture. I think more thought should have been put into the programming or schematic design of this video, maybe it would have been a useful tool because the graphics are great. It just sends the wrong message. Design the message properly first, then go into the details of how you are going to develop then create the final product.
@gust0261 oow meen pls be more councıous of world you have lots of things in your body that are regulated as golden section and ratio its also a concern of art and architecture further than building design.learn more kid haha

Generalization; The reason why every somehow reasonable person should ban the big "A" word from his vocabulary. Followed by words like art, design. Semantics do count!
I'm not here to be a dick or offend anyone, but now that we've established a kindergarten view of everything, can we actually move on to the adult world of architecture; REAL architecture. Theorizing on what makes a cup, a cup isn't going to get it made any sooner. It's object enclosed in such a way as to retain fluids and particularly small objects, but at the same time allowing them to escape the same way they arrived. It doesn't even need to be said, but there, solved. Can we move on?
No that's a design. A architecture doesn't makes cups. A product designer does or artist. But product designers make products and an architecture makes buildings but them both design this.
But cups are still stupidly designed by and large. Reason: Top wider than bottom means unless only half full (or empty) it is top-heavy. Unless there is significant thickness to the bottom relative to its height, then it is easier to spill than the same shape inverted. Why are volcanos shaped the way they are? Why don't we design cups and mugs and glasses etc. the same way?
sorry but I disagree, i loved the video, BUT that is NOT architecture, thats just the teaching of architecture, or pretty much anything, i loved the part of the essence, but you lost the right concept of architecture at the end because you didn't say whats the essence of architecture, what makes a building architecture and whats not, because not everything that is builded is architecture... you know that better than me...
i'm sure of something... that you really don´t know what architecture is... "cup's architectures", you mean "cup´s design". Architecture is the art and science of designing buildings and other physical structures not cups or... IT thigns, sad about that.

..thats architecture! well this is my idea of a concept in a nutshell...you can ask many others and they ll give you a different or similar discription
kinda...you can say that .first of, a concept for a building is not and shudnt be literal..that is to say anything that literally is translated to a structure will make it uninteresting..so a concept is necessarily any quality or abstract character which is translated to a building...for eg you can even build a concept around a function or anything in the world. but your not copying the literal quality or appearance of anything...if you are then defend yourself

Geometry=math
Understanding how structures behave=math
These are two things an architect better have A LOT to do with.
Equally as important are good communication skills and a creative vision(ie. a good understanding of the arts)
