Well...this edit is a year old and he was only 12 then. He is working on skating bigger rails now, but it takes time for natural progression of tricks to occur in a safe manner. Check my page for the newest edits. Although the skate plaza can be considered a "park", it is a park with only "street" objects.

We are skating street all the time. He's progressing slowly on street which is good to keep him from getting hurt. He nearly killed himself yesterday on this little drop rail. He clipped a royal and fell straight to his back from about 6 feet up. I didn't get it on tape though.

wow for a kid that age, hes amazing, real handrails! But to be fair if every kid had those kind of plazas and street to skate then there would be a lot more kids like this and half of them would be as good or better than him. he should be realllly greatful to have that to skate.

We are definitely grateful that we have the skate plaza. It's for sure made us all better at ledges, especially non-coping ledges. Reed gets good opportunity to skate, but you can't deny his talent. There are plenty of other kids around here who have the same places to skate who aren't nearly as good.

Yeh i cant disagree. he has got talent, but to be honest he does also get loads of exposure, for example rollernews, when there are many kids as good as him, but he just happens to be in the right place for his talent. I suppose some are more lucky than others. does he live near woodward aswell?

He's on Rollernews because I make an edit and send it in to Rollernews. I don't get how people think it's some magical thing to get on Rollernews. They just post what people send them. I know there are kids as good as him. I would love to see there edits or meet them. It would give me hope for the future of our sport. No, we don't live near Woodward. We just make plans to go there. Yes hes very lucky to have supportive parents who can afford to travel. They wouldn't bother if he wasnt dedicated.

but why be negative on any other roller? Our sport is so small that we really don't have room to be negative or divide ourselves. That won't help our sport grow at all. We're friends with Shawn. I just saw him last weekend at the AIL and he was doing huge 720s over the entire box! Yeah, Shawn's got unitys and backsides on big rails, but he can do more tech stuff on smaller rails. I've seen him do switchups on rails too. He will start progressing other tricks to bigger rails in time. There's a natural progression. You're going to learn your safety tricks first on bigger rails.

Because it clearly says...some street and plaza clips in the description. A ledge is a ledge wherever it is and a stair gap is a stair gap. The whole point of the Plaza is to emulate street. There are no transitions there.
