How absolutely magical this place is. My favorite movie "Local Hero" was partially filmed here and I've always dreamed of flying across the pond (Atlantic) and watching that sunset in person-ahhhhhhhh.  I live in a gorgeous place too, Colorado USA but grew up on the mid atlantic coast (Virginia Beach) Virginia. Nothing like gorgeous Scotland. thanks for posting this-I'm smiling, cheers!

I have many memories of Portnadoran and Mr Macdonald, He was a very kind and helpful man.We had many holidays since the early 70's.I live in Nashville Tennessee now but Portnadoran is still my heaven on earth.Thanks to the Macdonalds.God Bless.

I was up at Portnadoran sept'07,myself and brother had our photo taken with Alisdair,we had known him since early '60's when we were boys,have great memories of Arisaig.I hope Alisdair has been reunited with Ishbel,they were a lovely couple,my heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family.
