I have the exact same camera but i cant get videos onto my desktop or edit them. how do you do it and keeping the HD quality?? i DONT have the USB cable, please help me!

  • @BdawgTheSkater you should be able to put the DVD from the camera into your PC's DVD-ROM drive and copy the files to your computer without any quality loss.

  • @davelinger89 But what about when i try to get it to youtube? i have to change the file format so youtube would accept it? im just trying to get good HD videos to youtube .

  • 89milkhoney, yes, the HR10 can only record to DVD.

  • do i have to use the dvds to put videos on my computer or could i get a memory stick/usb?

  • Nice video and nice place ..please may I know Where was taken?

  • what type of disk are you using to record on? I use a dvd-r from JVC and the screen shows an error every time i try to record - thus i can't record past 2 seconds :(

  • do you have a video tutorial on how to transfer the dvd videos to the computer, I opened de dvd with the explorer, and took a video file but it does'nt have audio!!! thank you

  • @F4BON3 You either have to connect the HR10 to the PC through USB, or finalize the DVD in the HR10 and then insert it in the PC's dvd drive or use DVD-RW, which are readable in XP, Vista and W7 without needing to finalize. High Def video DVD are recorded as AVCHD discs, sort of 'mini' blu-ray discs (having the same structure but with limited capacity). You'll need either VLC (free to download) or the CoreAVC codec (around $15 and well worth it). E-mail me on my channel if you need more help

  • Im not sure if this is the same camera, but did it cost you $400

  • The camera retails for $1199, but I got it from Woot for $229 refurbished.

  • @davelinger89 It's retail price has been slashed a long time ago. It's a good camcorder but the DVDs limit it's uses and make it impractical. At it's maximum quality setting (nothing mind blowing, still below the time's flash camcorders) it only records 15 minutes on a DVD. Changing DVDs takes about a minute, and they need to be 'formatted' too. Ok if you're filming sporadically at home, but pure hell if filming outside in a crowd etc! I got mine from Argos for Stg225 and use it as a spare.

  • @MgarrKid recently upgraded to a Canon HF200; 25mbps and 32GB of space.

  • lol... looks pretty clear
