Sure, that's an option. Once you have his leg, you can put him on his back in a number of ways, most we have learned from wrestling. In this case, I chose to raise his leg and torque him back, but your way works too. Thanks for the comment!
@BennettgraySchultz there are many different ways of doing the single leg takedown. I like seeing variations (like this one) because you can never rely on just ONE way of doing a thing---you never know if the opponent will counter. This is similar to a "leg scoop" takedown. Good stuff, sir.

No, the move is legal in just about every competition at every level, except kids divisions.
