Depending on the type of damage it might not be repairable, so another option would be contact your phone service provider to see if they have an option to replace your phone. -Josh

Does anyone know for the security lock, if there is an option or app that has a number sequence lock pad instead of the dots that you have to make a pattern. I saw the number lock pad on Iphones and I believe it's on Droids too. Just curious.

I just recently bought my Xperia X10 here in the Philippines and the mediascape doesn't have an animation like in Timescape where the slides make some cirlce motion. I really want the mediascape to have some animation when you launch the application as advertised. In my phone's case, it doesnt have. Somebody in the SonyEricsson community Site said that the update removes the animation for the mediascape. Hope you could answer me on this because it would be cool if it has animation.

@rsoliano I was able to add animations to mediascape by going to the settings, then I clicked on Sound & Display, then once I scrolled down under sound settings, the bottom of the screen has the display settings, and there should be an option called "Animation", click on that and I selected "All Animations". My Mediascape has the animations now. Hope that works for you.

I have just ordered this phone. i played with it in a store running android 1.6, when i get it i want to upgrade it to 2.1 but prefered getting to the appliacations when you had to slide the bar up instead of the icon. in the settings, can i set it from the icon back to the bar? how? thanks

@Texas5522 There is a few applications that you can download from the android market that will change the unlocking icon to different things, most of these apps are themes. So what you could try once you have the phone is go to the android market and type it Lock, Lock screen, and you will see some results and hopefully you will find the one that you like the most. -Josh

Yea, the only difference is the RAM, which is 512 on the Arc. Keep in mind that it will probably be obsolete later on, since other manufacturers already have 1gb or RAM on their devices... we'll just see what the requirements for the latest Android versions are.

I just updated and thankgod they removed the "power key" as the hang up button... I was always used to other phones where it turned off the screen and I was accidently hanging up on all my phone calls. This actually doesnt look too bad ^_^

Xperia X10 is capable of android 2.2 but the SE developers just wont give updates. LG Optimus One has less hardware capabitilies but it has 2.2 by default and 2.3 coming soon. Sony, i am disappoint :-(

I live in the US, It was weird how I got mine to upgrade... I got the PC Companion blah blah blah, picked Xperia X10, while I was choosing it I held down the <-- (back button) and when I was about to hold it, I turned it off torward where it says shut down, are you sure? and Stuff, I plugged it in, (still holding <--) than right when I turned it off, the update started! I hope this will kinda help :p

@Rajboy26 Now i've got the answer! Download the Sony Ericsson Update Service program and follow the instructions. IMPORTANT; save everything! I mean you should save the phone numbers, the applications. Everything. They will disappear during the updating progress. The updating doesn't affect your memory card.

Uninstall your current PC Companion,download(or reinstall) the new one.Then the update can be detected(currently I am updating my x10).

aww..i enjoyed using the power button to cancel calls already :( oh well. Please update to 2.2 faster this time. Instead of making more phone models to sell, why not focus on the mighty Bugatti of the phone world, the X10. Apple focus on 1 phone at a time and they did a lot of great sells. Make more body kits for the x10 and applications that only x10 can have. How i wish u guys used Carl Zeiss lens on the phone, the cam quality doesnt really represents the 8.1mp cam. Does anybosy know why SE cant realease a vanilla version of 2.2, with just the hardware drivers, and none of the guff on top (like Time and MediaScape or the absolute rubbish tat CreaTouch). Surely if they did a basic realease people could chose which version to upgrade to. I NEVER use the additional stuff, I use Handsent for SMS and use a 3rd party contact app. So why not have a basic 2.2? Surely this could be developed quickly?
