Animal abuse? It would be if the snake WASN'T being fed or if the rat was being beaten. Truthfully, I think feeding a rat to a snake is the same as feeding kitten to a snake. The problem I have with this video is that intamanyak said they bought it as a pet mouse and it turned out to be a rat so they decided to feed it to the snake. Animals aren't disposable.

The snake grabs and constricts the rat quickly putting the rat in a state of shock so it really won't feel anything. Grow up please.

its not illegal, because first where i live they dont sell dead rats and second if you say is illegal to feed live rats to snakes, it should be illegal to to kill them by yourself or the one that killed them.

also mal im ernst. ich finde schlangen geil, dass mit dem lebendfutter stört mich aber nur bei ein paar arten (z.b. der annakonda) die ihre beute von hinten erlegt, dass ist natürliche quälerei.. aber solange der kopf gepackt wird und das vieh (wie man sieht) innerhalb ein paar sek. tod ist, finde ich das ok. @ hirsch670

Animal abuse? It would be if the snake WASN'T being fed or if the rat was being beaten. Truthfully, I think feeding a rat to a snake is the same as feeding kitten to a snake. It doesn't matter if you think the kitten is cuter, its no more 'important' and it doesn't deserve to be alive any more than the rat does. The problem I have with this video is that intamanyak said they bought it as a pet mouse and it turned out to be a rat so they decided to feed it to the snake. Animals aren't disposable.

Well thats what I meant. Human,puppy, kitten, whatever, theres no difference in their right to live. I'm sorry if I worded it wrong. Feeding a human to a snake is the same thing too- but i'm just saying it might not be classed as "abuse". Sorry if you're angry- but seriously I dont see why the "Can we feed you to an anaconda?" comment was needed when I was trying to make the exact point you were.

At least you are consistent; I will concede that.
However, it is unnecessary to buy/keep an animal that requires the effective abuse of other animals via feeding, simply for your own enjoyment. Additionaly, all snakes would be much happier in the wild, without having to live in a relatively tiny glass box.
