I don't smoke. I am naturally calm and peaceful, but I think marijuana is much safer than alcohol or tobacco. They say don't smoke pot, it will mess with your mind but in all seriousness, I have friends who smoke and they get better marks when high. Also they say that it has 20 more times tar than tobacco but tobacco is addictive and you smoke more. And another, marijuana is a good pain reliever which can help patients. I don't though like driving while high. Need to be careful.

@cindybin2001 Very faulty outlook. If you actually did reseach on this matter you would see that many of the people in jail are in for possesion of marijuana. It has come to the point where jails now have to let people go because there are so many. In countries like the Netherlands, there is a lower consumption of Marijuana because the kids know that the drug isn't going to kill them and they only do it once. You are either a troll or just dumb and I am leaning on dumb.

The truth is that Marijuana was illegalized because the timber industry didn't want to be replaced by hemp (Marijuana Paper). In states like California, Marijuana is used to treat glaucoma. Think about it: If states decide instead of the fed gov't, there's a 52 times greater chance that it'll be legal SOMEWHERE in the states (probably states like cali would be among the first).. If it's truly the right decision, other states will see the success behind it and adopt the proven regulations for themselves.

I used to be the best pot lobbyist, I know I will get mad hate on this. But we need to ackowledge the truth.. It seems that people are either on the extreme end of anit or pro legalization. @dmorris41 You can look around for the article, I'm not sure where I read it. But if you look at any studies involving lung cancer and marijuana, you'll often find that there's no correlation between marijuana use and lung cancer, especially compared to tobacco smokers.
@RevoltOfAgest I found a interesting one in the washington post that says thc does as much as fight aging and potentially cancerous cells. I have come to the conclusion that it is not in the same league as tobacco and is much less of a cancer threat than previously thought. However, I still feel that it could do some harm.. but hey, so does eating mcdonalds.
@dmorris41 RevoltofAgest is right it's called apoptosis, or "programmed cell death." Supposedly THC or some other chemical in marijuana helps the body kill off mutating cells before they become cancerous.
If you're interested also Google "Run from the Cure" by Rick Sampson...it's a book about a foreign doctor who used a cannabinoid oil to cure cancer patients, with a 60% success rate or something like that. There is definitely SOMETHING in marijuana that has anti-cancer properties.

Does it really help headaches? I have chronic migraines and have to take Excedrin several times a day that has acitaminophen. I'm afraid it could cause me liver damage if I continue taking it long term. I've never smoked marijuana but I would if it helps migraines.

I don't smoke. I am naturally calm and peaceful, but I think marijuana is much safer than alcohol or tobacco. They say don't smoke pot, it will mess with your mind but in all seriousness, I have friends who smoke and they get better marks when high. Also they say that it has 20 more times tar than tobacco but tobacco is addictive and you smoke more. And another, marijuana is a good pain reliever which can help patients. I don't though like driving while high. Need to be careful.

It has come to the point where jails now have to let people go because there are so many. In countries like the Netherlands, there is a lower consumption of Marijuana because the kids know that the drug isn't going to kill them and they only do it once. I LOVE the Ron Paul movement and im so down for legalized marijuana across the nation, but do you guys REALLY think he's gonna be president? We need to spread the word faster. More places. Tell everybody you know. YouTube top comments aren't enough. Spread the word. Tell your mom and dad. They'll love weed. Where I dont about his stand on border patrol agenda, but where I DO agree about MJ. It should be legal, " let's all be realists here, it is not dangerous AT ALL!". Not a single death from it. The campaign is meant to be convincing the public that marijuana is harmless and should be legal yet because of the people chosen to participate in the ad, marijuana comes off looking like a drug that turns you into a fuck up, which its not. I used to be the best pot lobbyist, I know I will get mad hate on this. But we need to ackowledge the truth.. It seems that people are either on the extreme end of anit or pro legalization. It is not the reefer madness bullshit that people tell you, but its also not the miracle drug others want you to believe. Smoking anything regularly will cause a variety of health problems.. SMOKING ANYTHING CAUSES CANCER.

@dmorris41 Yes, except it's been shown that while smoke is always carcinogenic, marijuana smoke also contains agents which combat cancerous cells, thereby canceling out the dangerous side effects that would otherwise occur.

@dmorris41 You can look around for the article, I'm not sure where I read it. But if you look at any studies involving lung cancer and marijuana, you'll often find that there's no correlation between marijuana use and lung cancer, especially compared to tobacco smokers.

@RevoltOfAgest I found a interesting one in the washington post that says thc does as much as fight aging and potentially cancerous cells. I have come to the conclusion that it is not in the same league as tobacco and is much less of a cancer threat than previously thought. However, I still feel that it could do some harm.. but hey, so does eating mcdonalds.

@dmorris41 RevoltofAgest is right it's called apoptosis, or "programmed cell death." Supposedly THC or some other chemical in marijuana helps the body kill off mutating cells before they become cancerous.
If you're interested also Google "Run from the Cure" by Rick Sampson...it's a book about a foreign doctor who used a cannabinoid oil to cure cancer patients, with a 60% success rate or something like that. There is definitely SOMETHING in marijuana that has anti-cancer properties.

If weed were legalized it would free up millions in taxpayer's money, eliminate over crowding in prisons, the tax would be injected into the economy, and thwart the efforts of drug lords all over the nation. Alchohol is more dangerous than marijuana by far. If anything THAT should have stayed in prohibition. When will America open it's eyes. We are a country of over-indulgence, with all the pot being taxed/consumed we could very well repair the economy in a matter of years not decades!

Does it really help headaches? I have chronic migraines and have to take Excedrin several times a day that has acitaminophen. I'm afraid it could cause me liver damage if I continue taking it long term. I've never smoked marijuana but I would if it helps migraines.

@Anthropophagism i suffer with really bad migraines,,but only once or twice a yr which im glad for really,,cus id rather nearly lose my arm again than have migraines,,they are the worst thing, they put me on my back in bed for 2 weeks at a time, i dont take any tablets for them,i jus smoke more weed than usual,and it does help,try it,,it might not be your thing,but it could help,it will def help u sleep

Another reason for the government to keep it illegal, is because they get money for keeping the prisons full. over 60% of the prison population is marijuana related.
