  • When I was a teenager I had a penfried from India. And the first thing I asked him was: "Hi, can you please tell me what these words mean - Jai guru deva om...?" I really wanted to know it :-)

Your cover is terrific! Nice greetings from Anette

  • I was pleasantly surprised from the start my man!

    Great job!

You get a great atmosphere going!

Plus Phil Spector would definitely approve this "overblown" mix hehe!! :D

  • @mikidou99 Thanks very much for that ! Makes me happy to imagine Spector pleased..lol

  • How do you get such a divine harmony sound? Are you doubling or even tripling tracks up? How about effects?

Sorry for the question, I'm getting deeper into this mixing stuff and I've always been impressed with your stuff.

Your lead vocal sounds dubbed as well, did you copy the track and slide over a hair or did you sing it twice?

  • @Oswlek Hi Justin - Ask me anything you want - I'm more than happy to tell you anything about how I do things. Very often I do, in fact, double the main vocal by singing it twice. The high harmonies, sometimes tripled. Add a generous helping of cathedral reverb for good measure. Usually my overdubbed vocal tracks line up pretty well but once in a while I have to slide a phrase or even just a single word to sync them up. Thanks for the question and for the great compliment.

  • great job Mike- great version and video!

  • The Beatles recorded this tune on February 1968, with "The inner light", "Lady Madonna" and "Hey Bulldog". Most of people know the one produced in "Let it be", but I think the first take is the best of all. Maybe because of the tempo, or maybe because of the "straight to the mic" acoustic guitar, I don't know.

The cover you did is a bit like the one they did on the film "Let it be", after George and Paul's fight, isn't it?

  • Yes it's a little slower tempo that the usual version that we hear all the time.

    Thanks my friend.

    Mike

  • Outstanding my friend. I got goose bumps just at seeing the title in anticipation of the first note. Love this song and you owned it. Your efforts were worth it! Randy

  • Thanks Randy - I enjoyed making this one. It's been a huge favorite of mine since first hearing it.

    Mike

  • A great song that you have done great justice to. 'nuff said! *****
