I just used letterbomb on 4.3E and installed homebrew and USB Loader GX. I just install everything on a external HDD with WBFS manager and open the games with USB Loader GX. Never having to swap DVD's again :D

Also the drivekey isn't the only good chip their is also the wasabi dx and the other one (by far my favorite) is the wiikey fusion

um i have some questions what product of the wii chip do u need if u aint any good at that melting those chips together and stuff u know the one with the clip on on the cd drive and that box the cd drive is connected to just conect it on the wire and i have the black version of the wii does it work on that one and what kind of discs do i need to buy to burn the games on to play on the wii and does those cost much

So, take it from me. If you have the cash too do so, and feel confident that you can open your wii, then I implore you too just buy a solderless wii modchip that works for YOUR wii. Don't bother messing with your wii's firmware if you really don't need too. (Luckily for me, I didn't have any save games seeing as how I just bought the wii the same day I tried to soft mod it, so formatting my wii didn't bother me at all.)

Most of the tutorials I found on the web for the same soft mod (bannerbomb), we're all different in one aspect or another differing from eachother. I feel like soft-modding is just bullshit, so I bought myself a DriveKey solderless modchip today. ^^; I'm excited too get it. I hope I don't have any problems with the mod chip installation; but since the DriveKey installation looks so simple, I don't think I'm going to have any major problems, aside from actually opening my wii.

A lot of people say you should just soft mod your wii. Well theirs news for all of you. It's not exactly the best idea too soft mod your wii. If you're not familiar with the process (like i'm not) you could end up erasing your entire wii due to a bad installation.

You can report to Nintendo all you'd like, but there's nothing illegal about modding your system to make backups, it's how it is used that determines if it is illegal.

o wow its just that easy! and this is the solderless one? and theres a pt 2? calculate the skill level, time, risk on hardware, risk of fbi laws broken, risks of sellers not sending, games not working, etc. is it even worth it. some1 sell that wiigator type of bootdiscs that maybe worth it. otherwise nice try

Trust me, I thoght so much about this but I decided not to do it. First, this is highly illegal. Second, look at all you have to do to get it in. And third, what if you break your Wii? Your data is gone forever. You're better off buying the game to avoid Nintendo. This is my Opinion. :)

right, that was why i made my comment. i hoped you knew i was being sarcastic. but still how about softmod; i heard if you have zelda you just download something and load it and bam. then u just need to know how to download/burn or else risk doin business with a seller. technically its legal to have game backups n maybe worth it in the long run. but id need more info on softmoding but this vid helps me decide not to try it also

ya i looked it up again yesterday and its like various files to download onto a flash card you need to have or buy and some games dont work and some of the video clips lag a bit and its not 5$ its like 2$ but abigger risk is if they dont send or u get in trouble...its my cousins anyway so ill see how it goes. 2 bad its not like dreamcast; most games sold SELF-BOOT! btw they sell PRE MODDED wii's WITH tested games, so if u find a seller 1 buy=victory! let me know if u do as will i

Yeah, that's something for Homebrew which I have. I don't use it to cheat but you can run emulators on your Wii. It's pretty interesting. You need Zelda twilight princess to make it work. It's pretty internesting.

wait, so you NOW HAVE SOFTMODs for wii? why didnt you say so? no wonder you dont think these hard mods are worth it. my cousin will buy zelda but we dont have the flash cards; is it worth the $ (and the time to download the needed files)? is their a list of games that will work or is it totally random? i heard they arent that fast but its only like some short vids that lag, if even that, is that true? let me know if its worth it and where u get the game "backups" if theres a seller

Oh and also when I put the yaosm disc in... it comes up as a game cube game but once I tell the wii to play that disc my wii just shuts down or restarts. Whats with that? Am I doing something wrong?

this mod lets you play burned disks but does it also let you play a game from another region? And if so, does every mod do both? because i'm alittle confused on chip names and what they do...

most if not all chips play backups and games from other regions (for example... you can play a PAL game on an NTSC console)
